"Mom thinks the place we’re living in now is too small," Sumr said.

Elias Spencer raised an eyebrow at her words, "Co live in my building, and it’ll be more convenient for you to see ."

"I can’t afford a place in your building." Sumr pouted. His entire building spanned over 600 square ters with one apartnt per floor, costing billions.

Where did she put all the money she earned? Her usual clothing and jewelry were branded but not from major luxury brands.

"Considering I’m your ex-boyfriend, I could sponsor you. All of the apartnts in this complex are luxurious; you can move in right after buying."

"No need." If she borrowed his money, wouldn’t his ego inflate to the sky? He’d probably treat her like a servant all the ti.

Her phone suddenly rang. She glanced at WeChat and raised an eyebrow—the location her mom sent was actually in this complex?!

Just in a different building.

"Where’s the place your mother is looking at?" Elias asked.

"In this complex," she said.

He raised his eyebrows slightly. In this complex?

-

Half an hour later, while she and her mother were viewing apartnts with a sales agent, they unexpectedly ran into Ian Sterling on the ground floor!!

Ian was about to go to the club for dinner, but her mom insisted he co back. As he stepped out of the lobby, he was quite surprised to see her there,

"Sumr, what are you doing here?"

"I’m here with Mom to look at apartnts. You... don’t happen to live in this building, do you?" she guessed, this complex truly was a gathering place for the rich.

Is this her mother? Ian politely greeted her, "Hello, Mrs. Nolan. I’m Ian Sterling, a friend of Sumr’s, and now a collaborator on her case."

Mrs. Nolan looked the handso man up and down, her gaze stopping on his multi-million-dollar watch and custom-made outfit. This was clearly a wealthy and attractive catch!

With such a high-quality man around her daughter, shouldn’t she take action?

Wait, is this man married?

"Hello, Mr. Sterling, do you have a girlfriend or are you married?" she directly asked.

"Mom!" Sumr nudged her with her elbow. Could she be any more obvious? Seeing a wealthy man and imdiately trying to sell off her daughter was embarrassing.

"...Neither," Ian replied with a smile.

Mrs. Nolan heard his answer and was even more satisfied, promptly asking, "So, Mr. Sterling, do you live here?"

"I live on the fifteenth floor, 1501. Mrs. Nolan, which floor are you going to see?" He asked.

"What a coincidence? We’re going to see 1502... Isn’t that so fate?" Mrs. Nolan was thrilled and excited, being neighbors would be so convenient for fostering a relationship!

Sumr was also a bit surprised and hesitant inside... Should she beco his neighbor?

Living nearby would indeed make it easier to gain his trust, she just feared that Elias would find out and cause trouble—

Ian looked at Sumr, "Shall I join you for the viewing? We might end up as neighbors."

Before Sumr could speak, Mrs. Nolan imdiately agreed, "Sure, co along. You can tell more about this complex!"

The pair chatted and laughed while walking ahead, the sales agent gladly followed. It looked like they were closing the deal today! Sumr stood there, dazed.

She had no choice but to follow.

Ian glanced at Mrs. Nolan’s foot. Didn’t she say it was sprained? Whether it was Sumr lying to him or her mother lying to her, finding out wouldn’t make anyone happy.

They took the elevator to the fifteenth floor, arriving at a spacious lobby.

In Elias Spencer’s elevator lobby, aside from a multifunctional shoe cabinet covering an entire wall, there was a rockery, a long artistic fish pond, with many beautiful goldfish inside.

In other corners stood a few large potted plants, and the walls were adorned with art; it was pleasing to the eye the mont you stepped off the elevator.

The space in his lobby was noticeably larger than this one.

"This lobby isn’t very big, but it’s alright," Mrs. Nolan said after looking around, having lived in villas spanning thousands of square ters before.

"If Mrs. Nolan finds this small, we also have larger flats of 600-700 square ters, and even villas over a thousand square ters..." the sales agent explained.

She wanted sothing bigger, but with the family still in debt, "There’s just three of us won, we don’t need it too large. Let’s go inside and have a look."

The apartnt was a spacious four-bedroom with three reception rooms, featuring an open tea room besides the dining and living rooms, in a modern and cozy luxurious style.

"Mrs. Nolan, each unit here has a different interior design. How do you find this one? If you don’t like it, we can check others," Ian was certainly hoping they’d choose here.

"This style is nice and cozy. Sumr, let’s settle on this one?" Mrs. Nolan was satisfied on her second visit.

Mainly, it was close to Mr. Sterling!

She could imdiately tell this Mr. Sterling had so interest in her daughter; otherwise, why accompany them on a viewing?

Sumr suddenly felt so concern, being too close to Ian. Would his parents frequent this place? His family didn’t know her, but they surely recognized her mother—

If they bumped into each other, her entire plan could fall apart, possibly endangering her family.

This matter required careful consideration.

"I’ll think about it," she said with a smile.

"This place is great, what is there to think about?" Mrs. Nolan asked beside her.

"Buying a house is a big decision; it’s not sothing you commit to after just one visit. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you get it," Sumr reassured, patting her mother’s shoulder.

If her mother knew Ian was her enemy’s son, would her enthusiasm remain?

-

The next morning.

Elias saw her enter and asked, "Have you decided on the house?"

"Not yet..." Sumr sat down at her desk, contemplating silently to first discreetly find out whether Ian’s parents visited him often.

"You don’t like the complex? It’s reasonably close to the firm, with a nice environnt, what’s holding you back?" Elias said.

Sumr walked over, leaning on the conference table, playfully fiddling with his tie, she smiled at him and asked,

"Why, does Attorney Spencer really want to move there?"

He tugged at his tie but didn’t retrieve it, soone’s hands were getting itchy again...

"Living in the sa complex would make it easier for you to look after Elias, stop dilly-dallying and settle this so you can work in peace."

"Or, how about I move into your place? It’d be even easier to take care of Elias..." Sumr teased him deliberately.

Elias raised an eyebrow, knowing she was joking, though... it wasn’t a bad idea. If she moved in with him, how would she still have ti to cozy up to Ian?

He picked up his phone to call the bodyguard, but Sumr imdiately grabbed his phone, "What are you doing?"

"Having the bodyguard grab your luggage," he replied.

"I-I was kidding, who’d actually move in with you? Have you ever seen exes living together after breaking up?" Sumr pouted.
