Evening.

Sumr Nolan’s face was still swollen, and she didn’t want to go out. She was sitting cross-legged on the sofa, munching on a big red apple while watching TV.

"Go open a room for yourself. I don’t want the client to know that we’re sharing a room at night. What if she starts gossiping about it?" she said to the man next to her.

Elias Spencer crossed his long legs, leaned coolly against the back of the sofa smoking, and turned to glance at her: "Is she that bored? Does she care whether we sleep together or not?"

He hoped his mother would see them sleeping together at night so that she wouldn’t push him to go on blind dates.

"Don’t be fooled by Mrs. Spencer being a middle-aged woman; won are naturally gossipy regardless of age," Sumr said.

"What’s your impression of her?" He looked at the woman, seizing the opportunity to ask.

"Mrs. Spencer is the type who is cold on the outside but warm on the inside. I find she’s a bit like you. Once you get to know her, she’s quite easy to talk to.

When I first t her, she was very aloof, had an air of superiority, and looked at others as if they were insignificant." She pouted as she spoke.

"While she is aloof and not easily close with others, she is quite kind at heart," Elias told her.

"Are you involved with her? Why are you defending her like this?" Sumr raised an eyebrow, thinking Mrs. Spencer was not only beautiful and well-proportioned but also had a noble deanor.

Elias frowned, poking her forehead with one finger, "Don’t talk nonsense!"

Just then, the phone on the coffee table suddenly rang, and Elias glanced at it, seeing Raymond Dawson’s na on the screen.

Why was that old fox calling her so late?

Sumr imdiately picked it up, went to the bedroom bathroom, closed the door, and then answered the call, "Hello, what’s up?"

"Attorney Nolan, where did you and Attorney Spencer go? It seems you were nowhere to be seen all day," Raymond Dawson asked suspiciously.

"I brought him onto a cruise ship. Tomorrow morning, you take the colleagues from the law firm and leave early. I’ll keep him occupied and won’t let him return to the city." She lowered her voice and said.

Raymond Dawson was surprised; how did she manage to deceive that man onto the cruise ship?

This woman was certainly not simple!

"Did you manage to find out how we can win the case?"

"Not yet. I plan to get him drunk tonight and try. Don’t call again; what if he gets suspicious?" she placated the old man.

"Alright, I appreciate your hard work. Once we win this case, you will be well rewarded," Raymond Dawson said before quickly hanging up.

Sumr hung up the phone, opened the bathroom door, and was suddenly stunned to see Elias standing at the entrance with a stern expression.

"What are you doing here? Eavesdropping on soone’s phone call is unethical." She felt guilty and preemptively found fault with him.

Elias had only heard her side of the conversation and hadn’t heard what Raymond Dawson said on the phone. He coldly speculated,

"Your purpose for bringing onto the cruise is to prevent from attending the Celestial Summit case in court the day after tomorrow?"

Sumr looked at him, feeling a headache, frowning. How should she deceive him?

"Of course not. I just didn’t dare to co to the cruise ship alone. Look, I didn’t even bring Ian Sterling here. Doesn’t this show that I trust you more?"

"Do you think I’ll believe such a feeble explanation from you?"

Elias looked at her with disappointnt in his eyes. She really was in cahoots with Raymond Dawson, plotting to fra him—

Before, he had been reluctant to believe it.

They were so close, he thought she wouldn’t join others to deal with him.

Now he was truly slapped in the face.

"Attorney Nolan, you really know how to pretend." Elias looked at her, laughed, and curiously asked, "How do you plan to keep on this ship tomorrow? Knock out? Or throw into the sea?"

Sumr looked at him, eyebrows tightly knitted, only asking, "Do you care that much about helping Summit?"

"Whether I help Summit or not, what does that have to do with you and Raymond Dawson being in cahoots? You’re good at diverting the issue," Elias didn’t want to listen to her sophistry anymore, saying in a deep voice before turning and striding out of the guest room.

"Elias Spencer!"

Sumr frowned and called his na, chased to the door, grabbed his hand to try to explain, but he coldly shook off her hand and walked away without looking back.

Unexplainably, she felt a bit empty inside, really didn’t want him to misunderstand.

When he was pestering her, she found it botherso, but now that he was gone, she felt empty.

Sumr stood at the door, watching his disappearing back, her mood very complex—

Elias walked into the cocktail party, bumped into his mother, and asked coldly, "Didn’t you say you wanted to go on a blind date? Where’s the person?"

Mrs. Spencer looked at her son with a heavy atmosphere and raised her eyebrows to speculate, "Did you fight with that girl? Over what?"

"It wasn’t over anything. Are we still having the blind date or not?" he asked impatiently, coldly.

Mrs. Spencer thought, let them fight then, maybe this was a chance for her son to break away. She took out her phone and dialed a friend’s daughter.

That girl had always had a crush on her son and had co here deliberately when she knew Mrs. Spencer was traveling here.

Not long after, a girl in a red dress, with delicate makeup, ca to the cocktail party. When she saw Elias, her eyes instantly lit up.

With a face full of infatuation.

"Hello, Elias, I’m Luna. I’ve known you for a long ti..."

Elias looked her up and down. Although she was young with a cute face, she insisted on acting mature and seductive. He had no interest whatsoever in this infatuated little girl.

But he wanted to piss off that woman!

Did she think he really didn’t have won who fancied him?

"How old are you?" he asked in a deep voice.

"I-I just turned twenty this year." Luna was so nervous her palms were sweating, unable to believe he was actually speaking to her!

"You haven’t graduated from college yet?" Elias asked nonchalantly. Sumr graduated from a prestigious university at twenty, just like him, skipping many grades.

"Not yet..." she replied nervously with two words.

"You’re not studying hard, coming here to play. Your grades must not be very good, right?" Elias asked again.

Luna’s face imdiately turned embarrassed and awkward. Her grades indeed weren’t good; she just wanted to get a degree.

Mrs. Spencer nudged her son with her elbow, wondering if this was a blind date or if he was picking on people.

This girl seed obedient and her father was in the governnt, so the conditions were fairly good. His disdainful tone was quite embarrassing.

"I-I’m going to the bathroom." Luna, lacking confidence, walked away, feeling she was too inadequate in front of her idol.

Struggling to find any common language, and even feeling disliked.

She ca into the bathroom, standing in front of the sink, looking at herself in the mirror, frowning. What does he like after all?

The bathroom door suddenly opened and in walked a woman in a black dress, wearing a mask. She abruptly said:

"If you want to be Attorney Spencer’s woman, just relying on looks won’t attract him. I have a packet of sothing here. Give it to him to drink. As long as you have a marital relationship tonight, he will take responsibility for you..."
