One year later
Dark Pillar 80th floor.
Dinsional Cracks appeared, the figure of Aaron stepped out after he finished defeating the 91st floor boss. However, there was a certain reason why he went to the 80th floor.
The dinsional portal was present outside the gates of the small town. Fortunately, no one saw Aaron's arrival, if they had, then chaos would have ensued.
"Hey, you! Stop right there," explained Nash, the man still working as the town's gatekeeper.
Nash flew down and set his feet on the ground. He stepped closer to Aaron, but he couldn't rember Aaron's face —because of ti.
"Who are you? What is your purpose in this town?" asked Nash, narrowing his eyes.
"Long ti no see, Nash," Aaron replied.
Aaron opened the black hood of the head, showing Aaron's face to Nash. Nash gasped and was confused, hearing these words co out of Aaron's mouth was enough to make Nash surprised.
"Do I know you?" asked Nash, curious.
"It's been a year since we t, it's natural for you not to recognize ," Aaron replied.
"My na is Aaron. I ca to rest in this city," Aaron replied.
"I heard that the three presidents of the three main groups reside here. Am I right?" asked Aaron.
"If you had co six months ago, they would still be here. However, now they've all left," said Nash.
"Gone? Where?" asked Aaron.
"They went back downstairs to organize their group. I heard that there will be a big tournant every 10 years, to compete for the title of the strongest group," replied Nash.
'Tournant? Does that include the big tournant in the entire Dark Pillar Tower?" asked Aaron, curious.
Nash again explained that they went downstairs only temporarily, until the big tournant ended. After that, they would return to the upper floors and raid like their original assignnt.
That left the authority of this town to Gordon, the owner of the oldest bar in town. Because of his magical skills, wisdom, and experience, they chose Gordon as the leader over other mages.
Aaron never expected that. However, the man was glad that at least the threat he feared within the town was gone —even though Aaron could defeat Killian with his current mage tier status.
Currently, after a long battle in the monster raid upstairs, Aaron had reached level 870, aning he was in the Peak Integrity Knight mage tier.
The tier was equivalent to the mage tier of the three presidents of the three major groups, which was why if Aaron arrived in the city, he would be the strongest person at the mont.
Nash saw no suspicious signs from Aaron. He could indeed see Aaron's great ability, exceeding his own. However, it couldn't be concluded that he had evil intentions.
"Go ahead. Enjoy the simplicity of this city," Nash said, opening the way for Aaron.
"Thank you."
Aaron strode steadily through the city gates. He could see significant changes since he left here a year ago.
Buildings were being constructed in large numbers, the population was growing and the majority were in the early Archmage and Integrity Knight stages.
However, Aaron did not see a single shop selling magic equipnt and items. There seed to be a policy or perception that people here didn't really need magic items, they needed trusted companions and information about the Dark Pillar raid.
"Hey, did you hear? There's a mage doing a solo raid up to the top floor," explained the townsperson, Aaron overheard as he passed them.
"Yeah, I've heard that. He spends ti hunting down maze monsters and killing floor bosses. I'd have a hard ti even doing that," said another resident, Aaron still listening.
"It could be that the solo mage is much stronger than the three presidents of the three main groups. We never knew about that, did we?" asked another resident, gossiping.
'Where did they find out about this? I'm sure I was adventuring alone back then,' Aaron said.
His goal this ti was not to find an inn location, but to go visit Gordon's bar. Although Aaron had left a long ti ago, he still knew the exact location of Gordon's bar.
Since Gordon's status had risen to that of a city authority, he seed to be using his rights and authority to enlarge his business.
Now, there were three bars marked 'Bar Gordon' in the city, two were branches while one was the center.
Aaron ca and opened the door. He took off his hood and black cloak, putting both items into his storage.
"Welco, sir. Do you need anything?" asked a young woman with the Archmage tier.
"Give your finest brew," Aaron replied, coldly.
"Sure."
The female bartender did her job well. Aaron's eyes were still forward, never looking back, at the group of mages who had been watching him.
Before long, Aaron's drink arrived, an alcoholic drink with a sweet and slightly bitter flavor. Before the woman left, Aaron asked her briefly.
"Ever since I ca here, they've been watching . Who are they?" Aaron asked, softly and flatly.
The female bartender glanced quickly towards the front, seeing that the group led by Oliver was targeting Aaron. The woman knew exactly what Oliver was about to do.
"They're the Upper Floor Gang. Not officially a group, but more of a gang of punks," the bartender replied, softly so as not to be overheard.
"Really? Didn't Gordon do anything to them?" asked Aaron, downing his drink.
"I actually tried to negotiate with them. However, since Dad doesn't belong to any group, his authority is less trusted by the townspeople," the woman whispered.
'What? Gordon has a son?!' Aaron was shocked. Read the latest on My Virtual Library Empire
"You're Gordon's son? How co I never saw you before?" Aaron asked.
"I've been busy raiding the monsters downstairs. Two months ago, I made it to the 80th floor with my group and t Dad," replied the woman.
"Anyway, my advice is that you should keep your distance from them. They can kill you easily," the female bartender whispered, making Aaron laugh out loud.
"HAHA! No one can kill , not even the floor boss."
