The battlefield still smoldered.

Crown warforms lay in twisted heaps, their blackened cores pulsing weakly before flickering out. The ground was scorched and soaked in equal asure—fire and blood mingling to mark the land as sacred or cursed. It was too soon to tell which.

Rivan stood in the center, hands still clenched, smoke curling off his skin like embers refusing to die.

[System Report: Battle Aftermath Complete – Commander Unit Neutralized – Crown Movent Suspended: 16 Hours]

He hadn’t slept. Couldn’t.

Every ti he closed his eyes, he saw the Corebreaker’s final scream. Not because of fear—but because of what ca with it. A whisper. A na.

Dorian.

Selina approached quietly, her red-lined cloak dragging across scorched stone.

"They won’t hit again today," she said.

Rivan nodded. "But they’re watching. Testing."

Kael sat nearby, wrapping bandages over his forearms. "We bought ti. Not safety."

[Crown’s Womb Countdown: 44:13:08]

Selina lowered her voice. "There’s sothing else. Scout patrols found a signal trail in the east trench. It wasn’t sent out. It was pulled in."

Rivan turned to her. "A signal received?"

She nodded. "Encrypted Crown frequency. Buried deep. The kind used for... insider contact."

Kael’s expression darkened. "A spy."

Silence.

[Failure Penalty: Crown Predictive Algorithm Access Enabled – 20% Battle Advantage Loss]

Rivan looked around the camp—his people. Allies. Fighters who had bled with him.

And one of them... was feeding the Crown.

He didn’t speak. He just clenched his fists tighter.

The next fight wouldn’t be against monsters.

It would be against trust.

The war camp was quieter than usual.

Not silent—just cautious. Whispers moved faster than orders. The firepits burned lower, as if mimicking the tension in the air.

Selina moved through the shadows, her boots silent on blackened earth. Her sigils were cold—no flare, no glow. She wasn’t Selina the fighter tonight. She was Selina the seeker.

[System Assistance Enabled – Tracking Passive Activated: Echo Drift | Signature Match Range: 18 ters]

Each faction had taken a corner of the camp. Raiders, Sisters, Guards—all on edge.

Selina slipped past sleeping warriors, her system scanning for anomalies. Data pulses. Internal pings. Signals the spy might not know they were still leaking.

A faint echo—east side. Near the supply caches.

She tapped her comm bead. "Rivan. Found a thread."

[Ping Confird – Tracking Sync Engaged. Radius Lock Set.]

Rivan appeared minutes later, cloaked and ard. No words passed between them.

They followed the trail through the cliff-hollow shelters until they reached the furthest cache—unused, covered in dust.

Inside: a portable comm crystal, Crown-marked, cracked but functional.

Freshly used.

[Signal Tistamp: 3 Hours Prior – Encrypted Report Sent – Subject: ’Sovereign Core Stability Degrading’]

Rivan’s eyes narrowed.

"Soone’s reporting on ."

Kael arrived, pale. "West scouts just intercepted movent. Soone sneaking out of camp."

Rivan didn’t hesitate. "We go now."

Selina activated her fla-tracker, sigils blazing faint orange.

The traitor had a head start.

But they were fla-bound now.

No one runs from the Sovereign.

The trail curved westward.

Rivan moved like a blade through the trees, feet gliding over scorched roots. The moon hung heavy overhead, bathing the terrain in cold silver.

[Target Distance: 410 ters and closing – Signal Residue Fresh – ID Masking Active]

Selina flanked low through a ravine, her presence barely a shimr.

Kael scouted from above, leaping branch to branch with practiced stealth.

Then Rivan stopped.

The traitor was near.

The system pulse changed tone—sharp, spiking with proximity. A figure darted across an old rail path, cloak trailing. Just fast enough to avoid torchlight.

[Echo Drift Match: 89% – Confird Affiliation: Crown Sync Class B | Status: Disguised]

Rivan’s vision sharpened. The form ahead shimred—projected armor fading.

A face erged.

Ava.

Leader of the Scarlet Sisters.

Selina landed beside him, breath catching. "No... that can’t be—"

But the sigils didn’t lie.

Ava turned, eyes wide—but not surprised.

"You shouldn’t have followed ."

Rivan’s voice dropped. "You’ve been leaking Core trics to the Crown."

Ava stepped back. "I had to. You don’t understand. They have my—"

Selina’s voice cut like steel. "Don’t say child."

Ava flinched.

Rivan took one step forward. "You had a choice."

"And I made the only one I could live with," she whispered. "But now... I’ll die for it."

She raised her blade.

[Enemy Status: Internal Faction Leader – Combat Class: Advanced Fla Sigilist]

Kael landed behind her. "Or... you can tell us what they know. And live long enough to make it right."

Silence.

Then Ava dropped the blade.

"I’ll talk."

[New Objective Unlocked: Extract Crown Intel – Ava’s Confession]

[Optional: Decide Ava’s Fate – Execution | Banishnt | Probation – Outco Impacts Sister Faction Loyalty]

Rivan looked to Selina.

Her eyes burned, but she nodded. "We hear her out."

Ava sat cross-legged on the scorched stone, wrists bound in fla-thread — not as punishnt, but to prevent any hostile sigils from being cast.

The war council watched from the edge of the tent, most silent, so burning with restrained rage.

Selina stood closest, arms folded, her expression unreadable. Rivan remained still, eyes locked on Ava, saying nothing.

Finally, Ava spoke.

"It wasn’t supposed to be this way."

Rivan’s voice was cold. "Then explain it."

Ava looked down. "Three years ago, the Crown caught my sister. Not one of the Sisters—my blood sister. Took her during the Second Surge. I thought she died."

She clenched her fists. "But then they reached out. Said she was alive. Said they’d keep her that way... if I agreed to monitor system surges from any Sovereign Core. And report when one grew too strong."

Kael paced behind her. "You tipped them off the mont Rivan passed fusion threshold."

"Yes."

Selina said nothing.

Rivan asked, "What did you give them?"

"Only surge data. I never revealed tactics. Never gave positions. But... I confird his strength. His growth."

[System Analysis: Intel Breach Limited – Tactical Containnt Possible. Ava’s Transmission Level: Moderate]

Kael scowled. "What about now?"

Ava looked up. "She’s gone. I got the ssage two nights ago. Executed. Used as leverage one last ti. And now... I’m useless to them."

Selina stepped forward. "Then why confess?"

"Because I’m tired of carrying this. Because I still believe in fire. In you."

[Choice: Determine Ava’s Fate – Impacting Scarlet Sisters Loyalty]

Options: (A) Execute | (B) Banish | (C) Probationary Return

Rivan looked to the others.

Selina finally spoke. "We’re not the Crown. We don’t kill for pain."

Rivan turned back to Ava.

"You’ll stay. Bound. Watched. But you fight with us."

[Choice Selected: (C) Probationary Return]

[Faction Loyalty Shift: Scarlet Sisters Loyalty Restored – Status: Cautious Support]

Ava lowered her head. "Thank you. I’ll earn it."

Rivan stood. "Then let’s make sure your betrayal becos our edge."

The camp didn’t sleep.

Whispers of Ava’s betrayal spread like smoke — not loud, not aggressive, but curling into every corner of the war tent, the supply runs, the fire watches.

So called her coward. Others called her broken.

But none called her forgiven.

Rivan stood above the central fire pit, watching it burn lower than usual. He didn’t need flas tonight — he needed clarity.

Selina returned from a second patrol. "No movent yet. No scouts. It’s like they’re... waiting."

Kael joined them, sword resting against his shoulder. "Then we sharpen every blade while we wait."

Rivan nodded. "We hold. But we don’t forget."

[New Condition Detected: Ambient Echo Pulse – Origin: Crown’s Root Chamber]

Selina frowned. "What’s that pulse?"

The air shimred — just once. A thrum. Like a breath.

Rivan stiffened. "That wasn’t a Crown broadcast. That was internal."

A presence.

It wasn’t awake.

But it wasn’t fully asleep anymore either.
