Book 3, Chapter 276: Photon Nest, The Company Of Winged Blades

Two days after the eting in the sea, Chen Chuan brought Dawncall to Deep End District, where Photon Nest was.

Once he parked his car at the square, he looked up and saw an eye-catching building. It had two wings that stretched outward and upward. The distance between the two wings closed until they t at the center to make them look like wingtips.

The company was located not too far from Black Orchid Co.’s original headquarters.

Chen Chuan observed the company for a little longer before calling out to Dawncall. Then, they walked into the building together.

After his conversation with Gu Haiting, he asked whether Azure Dragon provided services for avian creatures, since they dabbled in the field of organism culture as well, but Gu Haiting replied that their technology was geared toward marine lifeforms and did not fit Chen Chuan’s requirents. He recomnded so companies instead.

Coincidentally, one of them was Photon Nest, the one that Zuo Handan had recomnded as well.

The difference was that Azure Dragon had a long-term partnership with Photon Nest.

Gu Haiting then proposed going through internal channels and getting him the most high-end, custom-made service in the na of a business partner. This would also cut down the fees by a lot.

Before coming, Chen Chuan had taken a look at the technology the governnt possessed in this field, but they walked down a completely different path compared to the companies. They were more focused on the gigantification of animals and mass-production of bioweapons. They treated animals as dispensable tools, and that didn’t fit Chen Chuan’s goals.

anwhile, Photon Nest provided custom-made services for avian creatures.

After coming back from the sea, Chen Chuan sent them so information regarding Dawncall through the channel Gu Haiting introduced to him. He also set up an appointnt with the company for a detailed discussion.

Upon entering the building, he arrived in a bright, clean, tall, and spacious lobby. Ahead was a large holographic display showing different modified creatures. They were appearing one after another in rotation.

While he observed it, Dawncall tilted its head upward and watched them curiously.

A lot of work had been done to the displayed creatures’ appearances to make them look flashy and attractive. They were either powerful-looking or gorgeous.

At that mont, aside from moving about, the creatures also showed affection to their masters. They portrayed various characteristics that people wanted in pets, though they did it in moderation, so those who saw the displays would want them for themselves.

There were quite a number of clients in the lobby. Even though they were standing far away, Chen Chuan could hear their conversations. For example, a middle-aged couple wanted an obedient dog who could take care of their baby.

So distance away from them, a teenage boy shyly said that he wanted a rmaid who could keep him company.

The saleswoman responded politely that this sort of modification was not available, because it was an illegal modification. However, if the teenager was willing to sign a disclair contract or pay so of the research and legal fees, the company would be willing to help him.

Just then, a middle-aged man in the company’s uniform walked over with a smile and extended his hand. “You must be Mr. Chen. I’m Zhuang Ke, the business manager. Mr. Gu has already given us the run down. We will be activating two of the company’s internal agreents to fulfill all your requests.”

“Thanks for doing this for .” Chen Chuan shook his hand.

Zhuang Ke cast a glance at Dawncall before giving it a smile and a hello. Dawncall chirped at him, making the man smile even brighter. He praised it. “Your pet is really smart.”

Then, he beckoned at Chen Chuan to follow. “Would you like a tour of our company?”

“That won’t be necessary. I’ve already read about it on your platform. Since I’m here, it ans that I trust your skills,” Chen Chuan stated.

“Please co with , then. We will need to perform a thorough test on your pet,” Zhuang Ke said with a bright smile.

Chen Chuan followed him into a panoramic elevator and headed upstairs. The center of the company was hollowed out, while the circular walls had independent regions built neatly into them that resembled nests. It was a unique design.

When they reached the twentieth floor, they walked down a long, tube-shaped tunnel until they reached an area covered in green plants. It felt like they had entered so sort of primitive forest, not an examination area.

After another twenty ters, they arrived in front of a thick tree. It had sothing resembling a bird’s nest that occupied an area of around five to six square ters. Hanging around it were thick vines the size of two fingers, which resembled arms.

“Please tell Dawncall to go in,” Zhuang Ke said to Chen Chuan.

Dawncall turned to Chen Chuan.

“Go on.” Chen Chuan patted its head.

Dawncall lowered its body and shot toward the nest. Then, it climbed into it deftly. Soon, it was inside and chirped.

“While we don’t have an active biosentient entity in the branch company, we do have so passive ones. The efficiency of our checks might not be great because of it, but we have a perfected procedure and enough resources to examine a single life form.

“It’s going to take around two minutes.”

Once it was done, the passive biosentient entities sent Dawncall’s specs to Zhuang Ke’s Realm Pass. Before this, he could already tell that Dawncall was a lab-born experint, and the results proved that he was right.

However, pets that weren’t the results of experints didn’t need this sort of service, so Zhuang Ke was not surprised. After all, he had been a manager for years and seen all sorts of situations.

The passive biosentient entities put all the results into an analysis, and Zhuang Ke sent the report to Chen Chuan.

“This is an analysis of your pet. Please take a look.”

The report was filled with analyses and technical jargon, so Chen Chuan didn’t bother reading it in detail. Instead, he said, “Please just tell

the conclusion, Mr. Zhuang.”

Zhuang Ke smiled. “Of course. Based on our analysis, your pet has a lifespan of around eight years. It’s still a baby right now, but it has a long growth period. This might be to keep it looking like a baby, which is common among bred pets.

“It’ll turn into an adult around five to six years later and swiftly grow old. It can live for around a year or two at most when that stage begins.

“If you want your pet to grow mutated tissue, then you ca at the right ti. Your pet hasn’t passed the best timing yet. If you had delayed it by half a year, you would have missed it.”

“Does your company have a way to help it grow mutated tissue?” Chen Chuan asked.

Zhuang Ke sent so flowchart diagrams to Chen Chuan with great confidence. “With our technology, we can. We will first make adjustnts to your pet, then promote the growth of mutated tissue in it through food, dicine, light therapy, environntal stimulation, and other thods.

“You’ll start seeing results within five days. After that, we’ll need to go through three more steps. At the earliest, the procedure will be done within a month. At the latest, it might drag on for half a year.

“This is the safe estimate, though. If your pet cooperates with us, the ti will be even shorter.”

With Photon Nest’s technology, it wasn’t difficult to help pets grow mutated tissue. The problem was making sure the mutated tissue stayed healthy.

If they couldn’t maintain it properly, not only would it not bring about any benefits, but it would also make the animal’s condition worse. That was why the subsequent adjustnts, maintenance, growth of mutated tissue, and regulations were the main focus. However, as long as their custors were willing to pay, they could deal with all of it.

Honestly, the cost for cultivating mutated tissue in pets was no lower than cultivating mutated tissue in a martial artist. Even so, plenty of custors were willing to fork out the cash for it.

“That’s good. I hope we can start as soon as possible, and please make sure everything goes successfully. If things go south, please do your best to keep it in its current condition.”

Zhuang Ke’s expression turned serious. “Don’t worry, Mr. Chen. Please trust our skills. If we can’t fulfill your request, we will not only waive all your pet’s future maintenance fees, but also compensate for your loss.”

Then, he sent a service agreent to Chen Chuan.

Since they were doing it through the company’s internal channel, Chen Chuan could skip paying a lot of the extra fees, but it still cost him two hundred thousand.

If this service was sold at a normal price, it might be more than ten tis what Chen Chuan was paying.

Once Chen Chuan signed the agreent, he sent the money to the company from his Grand Prosperity Finance account. Then, he asked Dawncall to stay and promised to co back tomorrow.

However, even if he was no longer in the company, he could observe Dawncall’s condition at all tis through the company’s platform.

Upon returning to his room, Chen Chuan threw himself into intense training.

To master the Mind Shattering Hamr and Hollowed Heart Mark before April, he needed to put a lot more ti into ntal training every day. As for sparring, he just needed to do it once with Hongfu every day to make sure he remained in top condition.

While Chen Chuan was focusing on training, a foreign cruise ship docked at Oceanway District’s harbor.

A man dressed like a foreign martial artist was sleeping in his bedroom, and he didn’t seem to have heard the cruise ship’s horn. After most of the passengers left, there was a knock on his door.

“The ship has arrived, Mr. Sancheng. You can get off now.”

The man turned around. He was in his thirties and had an average-looking face. His hair was also in a simple topknot. anwhile, his clothes hung off him loosely, giving him a lazy air.

With a yawn, he went to the door. The mont he opened it, the blinding sun outside made him narrow his eyes. Not only were all the ship attendants and ticket inspectors standing at his door, but there were also border inspection officers and Resolution Departnt law enforcers. They were staring at him with stern and wary expressions.

One of them observed him for a while before showing his work ID and asking tersely, “Are you Sancheng Huang?”
