Book 3, Chapter 267: One VS Four
The four then spread out.
If they had only known each other for a few days, they would have been a little more cautious and wondered whether they should fight. But they knew each other and had often worked together against an imaginary enemy.
That imaginary enemy was also much stronger than the man before them.
Yu Lie also happened to idolize this imaginary enemy, so if he joined the lesson, he was bound to stand in their way. It was better for them to chase him out as soon as possible.
When they surrounded Yu Lie from all four directions, he didn’t appear nervous at all. Instead, he sneered and flicked his coin to the opponent on his left.
The person didn’t move and just struck the coin aside. The power contained in the coin was so strong that it managed to make him still for a mont.
Yu Lie seized that chance to rush at him.
But while he had managed to hold one opponent back, the person behind him and the other two charged over. They didn’t try to stop him and just watched his movents.
Yu Lie acted as if he didn’t see them and threw a punch. The first person reacted enthusiastically and threw a punch right back without any sign of backing down.
Yu Lie didn’t dodge, but sped up. He let the punch land on his head while his own fist landed squarely on the first person’s chest.
This exchange of blows tore most of the first person’s heart to shreds, and he collapsed. While he wasn’t dead, he was at Death’s door and out of commission. The side of Yu Lie’s temple that had been struck also caved in.
Crack! Crack!
Two of the four people reached him and struck his shoulder and back, breaking his ribs and shoulder bones.
Yu Lie just grinned as if he did not feel pain. Instead, he cackled like a maniac. It was just as he expected, the four were treating the fight lightly and didn’t use their full strength.
After the first person went down, Yu Lie spun around and kicked the person behind him. When the person saw this, he didn’t dodge. He delivered a kick right back. anwhile, the third person shifted to Yu Lie’s left and thrust a finger toward his ear.
The fourth person ran over from the right and delivered a kick to Yu Lie’s ankle.
Their attacks landed on Yu Lie almost at the sa ti, but Yu Lie also managed to kick the second person squarely in the face. The man’s face caved in, and he was sent flying.
While Yu Lie’s chest was struck as well, the attack wasn’t really effective. He had managed to block most of the damage with the mutated tissue he had gathered around his chest.
The finger that stabbed into his ear only managed to sink in a bit before it was forced out by the mutated tissue as well. Even so, blood spilled out of Yu Lie’s ear.
Loud snaps ca from his ankle, but Yu Lie remained standing firmly in place.
The remaining two’s expressions changed. “You...”
Suddenly, they realized that with the defensive abilities Yu Lie displayed, he could have withstood their attacks unscathed, but he let them hit him. He did it to bait them into attacking him so that he could finish them off faster.
What a crazy strategy.
But its effects were evident. In the blink of an eye, he managed to defeat two of them.
Yu Lie didn’t care what they thought. He had no intention of stopping and imdiately went to his third target—the one who had attacked his ear.
The third person didn’t panic just because of the change in the situation, nor did he back down. Instead, he displayed extraordinary calmness and brought his arms up to perform a grappling move. The fourth person then responded by jabbing at Yu Lie’s shoulder with his finger.
Yu Lie continued attacking like a rampaging tank. He did not bother to dodge any of the attacks, but when he closed in on the third person, a hint of cunning flashed in the third person’s eyes. When he was about to grab Yu Lie’s hand, he curled his fist. The fourth person also changed his attack to try grabbing his waist and back.
This change in attacks was perford brilliantly. They had switched their moves and still showed perfect teamwork. If Yu Lie couldn’t react in ti, no matter how much stronger he was compared to them, he would be taken down instantly.
Yu Lie stomped on the floor so hard that one of the floorboards sank. Then, he surged forward. Once again, he faced the punch head-on and let it land squarely on his face. Half of his face caved in, but the crazed smile remained on his face as he crashed into the third person, grabbed him, and spun around.
Not only did he manage to avoid the fingers that touched his back, but he also tilted his body a little during the spin. With a burst of strength, his back moved like a snake, and all his power focused into his forehead as he ramd his head against the third person’s face.
Bam!
The third person’s face caved in.
The fourth and last person was shocked. He didn’t move forward. Instead, he took a few steps back.
Yu Lie let go of the third person so he would slide down while spitting out a mouthful of blood. There were plenty of shattered teeth among the blood, but he just wiped his mouth with his hand.
Even though he appeared to be badly beaten up, it was a price he had to pay. In any other situation, he wouldn’t have been able to win against four Third Limit martial artists working together.
Even if he was lucky enough to defeat one of them after showing off his full strength, the others could just spread out and dance around him; Yu Lie wouldn’t be able to chase them down. Besides, the lesson was about to start, and his goal wouldn’t be achieved then.
There was only one person left, so defeating him was much easier.
As snapping sounds ca from Yu Lie’s body, the broken parts recovered. Even the sunken face recovered as his mutated tissue filled it out and healed it.
The last person’s expression changed as he said, “You won. I surrender.”
“That won’t do. You’re such close friends with them. If you’ve all lost but you remain standing, you won’t look like you’re part of the team,” Yu Lie gave him a mocking sneer.
The last person scowled and started retreating. He knew that he couldn’t possibly win against Yu Lie alone, so there was no need for him to get beaten up.
He took ticulous care in choosing the direction of his retreat. He was going to where Chen Chuan was with the clear intention of making him provide him cover.
Chen Chuan hadn’t intended to be a part of this, so when he saw what the last person was doing, he took a seemingly random step to the side just as the person drew close to him.
Not only did he not let the last person run past him, but he even blocked his path.
The last person was shocked and instinctively wanted to change directions, but that brief halt in his movents allowed Yu Lie to catch up and grab his shoulder.
The person glared and grabbed Yu Lie’s hand before lowering his center of gravity. He wanted to use a grappling-type refined force to defeat Yu Lie.
But as he sent his refined force into Yu Lie, an even more powerful refined force charged into him and negated his refined force. Not only did he not manage to seize Yu Lie, but Yu Lie also used his refined force to control him.
Shocked, the last person ca to the realization that Yu Lie was also skilled in grappling, even though during their brief fight he had thought that Yu Lie was skilled in Sanshou. The realization had co too late.
His body went limp, and he fell to his knees.
Yu Lie moved his hands down the last person’s shoulders and grabbed his arms before twisting them inward.
Crack! Crack!
He didn’t stop after breaking the last person’s arms. Instead, he grabbed his head and chin.
Shocked, the last person cried out, “Wait—”
Snap!
His neck was broken, and he fell on the floor.
He was a Third Limit martial artist, though, so as long as his head was intact, no matter what external injuries he suffered, he wouldn’t die. It just wouldn’t be easy for him to recover.
Yu Lie patted his hands and stared at the four people on the floor. He had never ntioned what the four would have to do if they lost, but if he put them out of commission, they would need a few days to recover.
Naturally, the emptied spots wouldn’t remain empty. Soone else was going to take their place. Once that happened, it would not be easy for them to co back.
Yu Lie turned to Chen Chuan. “I almost forgot. There’s one more. You must be Captain Chen. I’ve heard of you.
“You must have heard what I just said. I believe that only true elites are worthy of learning under Instructor Chen, so I want to see whether you’re as strong as the rumors say you are.”
“Lieutenant Colonel Yu, considering your wounds, are you sure you want to fight ?” Chen Chuan asked after giving him a onceover. Even if Yu Lie could recover quickly, it used up blood essence and stamina.
Yu Lie just shrugged. “It’s fine. It won’t affect my strength much.”
Then, he grinned. In just a while, his shattered teeth grew back. “And I don’t think we’ll be fighting for a long ti.”
“If you think you can fight, then let’s do it,” Chen Chuan said. He agreed with what Yu Lie had just said.
Yu Lie laughed and didn’t waste any ti. While still covered in blood, he charged at Chen Chuan.
He had heard so rumors about Chen Chuan and knew that he was no easy opponent, but the stronger his opponents were, the more excited he beca.
Yu Lie was confident and believed that he had the greatest potential among the younger generation. No one could possibly compare to him.
As he won against more of his peers, his confidence grew until it beca unshakeable. He also beca stronger. At present, he had started ntal training, so that belief pushed him to keep walking down his path.
Even though he longed for opponents, that didn’t an he threw himself into fights without a plan. During the fight just now, he didn’t use any ntal energy because he had been saving it for Chen Chuan.
Light shone in his eyes. Before he reached his target, his ntal energy went charging at Chen Chuan with the force of a tidal wave.
