Book 3, Chapter 193: Behind The Scenes
There were still a lot of First Limit and Second Limit ambush team mbers left, but once the Third Limit ambush team mbers were killed, they lost all their will to fight. The only thing they could think about was how to get out.
Border Fusion’s security guards refused to let them run. They went after them, and the City Patrol had also gotten through the obstacles they set up at the base of the flyover. The patrol blocked the ambush team’s path back to Central City.
At this mont, the two small airships were already close by and pointed their machine guns at the area below. As sparks flew, the sound of gunshots rang through the air.
The bullets tore through the ard forces, and gravel shot into the air. Even if so people wore protective gear, they stood no chance against the bullets. The ones without any protective gear even had their limbs blasted off.
So of the martial artists saw that the situation was going south rapidly and gave up on running to the lower section of the flyover. They just jumped over the guardrail into the sea.
Chen Chuan ignored them and went straight to ng Shu’s car. When the security guards gathered around saw him, respect shone in their eyes, and they made way for him.
He walked to the car window and saw ng Shu as well as Yan Yi staring at him. So, he said through his Realm Pass, “Things are basically settled at this point, but there are still so ard forces around. Don’t co out.”
“Sure. Are you okay?” ng Shu asked.
“I’m fine. By the way, I tried it just now. The quality of your product is pretty good,” Chen Chuan remarked. When he saw that the area around ng Shu’s car was safe, he left, but he did cast a glance at a certain part of the car.
ng Shu turned to where he was looking. Then, Aunt Yu slowly appeared at the previously empty spot. Before this, aside from her and Yan Yi, no one had noticed her coming along.
“I think Mr. Chen saw ,” Aunt Yu pointed out. The windows were made of one-way glass, so those outside couldn’t look inside, but she still felt that Chen Chuan had noticed her.
“Even though I’ve used my domain to interfere with other people’s senses, Mr. Chen’s biofield is incredibly strong. I believe that he sensed your presence when he ca close,” Li Ying suggested.
“He’s strong. It looks like my presence here didn’t make any difference,” Aunt Yu lanted.
“I trust you both,” ng Shu comforted her.
She cast Yan Yi a glance, and the latter understood. Through her Realm Pass, she said to the security guard captain, “Gather all the scattered weapons from the martial artists, wipe them clean, and send them to Mr. Chen later.”
The security guard captain was taken aback for a mont, then answered loudly, “Understood!”

Chen Chuan went to the flyover’s guardrail and looked out. A few motorboats were rushing over to the people who had jumped into the sea and were swimming desperately. Far into the distant horizon, Chen Chuan saw a few ships taking their sweet ti sailing over.
The domain lockdown had been removed at this point, so Chen Chuan contacted the Resolution Departnt and scanned the boats and ships on the sea before sending a ssage.
Chen Chuan: Please look into them.
With the machine gun fire from the two airships and the security guards working together, the ambushers on the flyover were all taken out. As for the ones who jumped into the sea, they were ignored. The Resolution Departnt would send soone to capture them later.
The sound of gunfire started turning scarce. In the end, only the occasional gunshot could be heard. The security guards walked up and down the flyover to deliver finishing shots, remove the obstacles on the road, and move as well as treat the injured.

Yan Yi spoke to the security guard captain before turning to ng Shu. “Miss Shu, we’ve captured a few hostages. They’re all rcenaries, so we haven’t identified them yet.”
“Send them to the Resolution Departnt and give them so money later,” ng Shu ordered.
“Got it. I’ll do it right now.” Yan Yi knew what she ant.
Just then, she received a ssage from the company asking whether they wanted the company to send security guards over to pick them up. Yan Yi replied that they were done here, so they didn’t need to send anyone over.
A mont later, the City Maintenance Departnt ca over to ask for compensation, and she replied that Border Fusion would pay for all the damages they caused on the flyover.
Most of the facilities were insured, and Border Fusion didn’t need to shoulder the burden of paying for them. Since they were the ones attacked, they could ask for compensation from the insurance company.
The company’s legal team would deal with all matters related to this.

Chen Chuan surveyed the motorcade once. When he saw that there was nothing else he needed to pay attention to, he returned to his car.
He had planned to pick up so of the scattered weapons, especially Big Sis Huan’s dual spikes, which were unique and had great collector’s value, but the security guards had gathered them all together on orders from above. Even though that took away the ceremonial feel of gathering the weapons oneself, at least Chen Chuan didn’t need to spend ti searching for them.
After being held back on the flyover for more than an hour, the motorcade finally started moving again. Due to the ambush, they moved slowly and were on even higher alert. Hence, they spent another hour or so to reach the headquarters in Deep End District.
Chen Chuan wasn’t needed for the handover succession, so he didn’t stay with ng Shu through the entire thing. He just watched her address the employees through his Realm Pass before attending the senior executives’ eting as the company’s security advisor.
When they finally got through all the procedures, the day was over, and ng Shu officially took over Border Fusion.
While she didn’t have ng Lai’s prestige and experience, through Li Ying’s suggestions and policies, along with the ng family mbers’ help and cooperation, she could keep the company running.
At this point, Chen Chuan’s mission had co to an end. Even though he would retain the title of Border Fusion’s head security advisor, he no longer had to stay with them all the ti and be in charge of the company’s daily safety.
After parting ways with ng Shu, Chen Chuan left the company and headed back to Martial Valor University. Wu Quan contacted him to give him an update on the situation.
It was then that Chen Chuan learned that the ambush team had hired two Third Limit martial artists to guard the end of the flyover. They were the ones who had stopped the reinforcents from the Resolution Departnt.
But they exercised restraint and didn’t hurt anyone. When they noticed that things were going awry for their clients on the flyover, they gave up on resisting and were subsequently arrested. They claid that they were just hired hands and didn’t know any details.
That couldn’t be further from the truth. They had to know so things, or they wouldn’t have taken up the job, which ant that they had consulted their lawyers beforehand and knew that claiming ignorance could get them out of hot water.
Chen Chuan didn’t care about that. All he wanted to know was the origin of these people. After all, if whoever was behind the attack could send eight Third Limit martial artists after him, they were bound to not be so insignificant force of power.
“Based on the clues we have right now, it’s highly likely that Ferris Wheel is behind them,” Wu Quan replied.
“Them, huh?” Chen Chuan nodded. He had a hunch even before hearing it.
“While you blasted off the head of the first martial artist, after comparing his other characteristics with his ID and listening to the testimonies from the captured attackers, we’re pretty sure that he’s Jiang Huowang, a foreigner.
“He’s a disciple of Fierce Wave School, a martial arts school that has enjoyed long-lasting fa across the pond. Fierce Wave School has branches all over the island nations, and Ferris Wheel only hires security guards from among its students.
“Also, while many of the martial artists you killed looked like citizens of the Great Shun Republic, upon examining their ancestry, you’d find that they have the blood of other nations in their veins.
“One or two ans nothing, but when you have so many people sharing the sa characteristic gathered together, it’s no longer a coincidence.”
“I rember that ng Huang had business deals with the island nations and Ferris Wheel. Did they attack the motorcade to kill ng Shu? But even if they managed to assassinate her, ng Huang’s supporters have already been wiped out, and as long as ng Lai is around, Border Fusion will never have any business deals with them,” Chen Chuan pointed out.
“We couldn’t get any answers from the captured criminals. Their client only asked them to attack the motorcade, but we’ve analyzed the situation based on current and previous information. It’s highly likely that they were going after your life this ti,” Wu Quan pointed out.
Shock shone briefly in Chen Chuan’s eyes, and he pondered over this for a while before asking, “Is it because I ruined their plans by killing ng Huang?”
It made sense that they would want revenge. After all, many of the people from the island nations were stubborn, and so of them were even quite the extremists.
But why would Ferris Wheel spend so many resources and send so many people after him for killing ng Huang? It just made them look like they were blowing things way out of proportion. Perhaps there was so other reason behind this.
“We’re still looking into it, but if our theory is correct, they might do this again. Be careful, Officer Chen,” Wu Quan cautioned him.
Chen Chuan nodded. Since they had invested so much into this, they might do sothing similar in the future. “Will do.”
After so thinking, he asked, “Are you going to start looking into Ferris Wheel?”
“We will, but it’s going to be hard for us to get any results for now, unless the central governnt decides to get rid of the company,” Wu Quan replied.
Chen Chuan could understand that. The Great Shun Republic had also invested in Ferris Wheel. Hence, even if they had evidence directly tying this attack to Ferris Wheel, they could only bring it to court.
And when legal teams fought against each other, nothing usually happened.
Wanting to topple over a powerful company wasn’t easy. They would need the governnt and other companies to participate, along with the perfect chance for it all to work. When the governnt had taken action against Black Orchid Co., it had been because its main force had left Central City.
“Also, we’ve learned that Ferris Wheel has been applying to join the Corporation Union,” Wu Quan then said grimly.
“The multi-corporation inspection team and representatives have set out and will soon arrive at Jibei Road to assess and evaluate Ferris Wheel. Doing this ans going up against the governnt and expanding their business beyond national borders. This is going to ruin the governnt’s impression of them and sour their image.”
