Book 3, Chapter 191: Impact

Big Sis Huan whipped her head over and stared fixedly at Chen Chuan as he straightened his back.

Even though the bullet had hit his head, he wasn’t wounded in the slightest.

That mastery in body hardening...

Fear rose in her heart.

And also...

She cast a glance at the corpse on the ground. Even though she didn’t like Jiang Huowang and hated that he never listened to orders, she did acknowledge his strength.

Yet Chen Chuan had killed him so easily. They had only exchanged two moves.

Jiang Huowang could recover quickly, but if his head was crushed, there was no way he could get back on his feet.

The rest of the team mbers stared in shock. Even though Jiang Huowang often brought them surprises, this surprise was a little too big. They couldn’t wrap their heads around it at all.

Jiang Huowang was supposed to hold Chen Chuan back, or at the very least, drain his stamina. Now that he was dead, what should they do?

For a ti, no one moved. They waited for new orders to be sent to their Realm Passes. They needed soone to tell them what to do.

Big Sis Huan knew that they wouldn’t be able to consider all factors in the simulations, so things would never unfold exactly like predicted, but she had never expected this to happen.

The target’s strength far exceeded their estimations.

Should they retreat or continue?

If they tried retreating, with the strength and speed the target displayed just now, they would need to leave behind so people to guard their rear, and they would be dying for nothing. There was no guarantee whether the rest would even be able to escape.

Also, she had dumped a lot of money into this battle and even taken quite a large loan. If she failed, Ferris Wheel wouldn’t step forward to protect them, so even if they retreated, they would have nowhere to go.

They only had one choice left.

Big Sis Huan gritted her teeth and sent a ssage through her Realm Pass. “Proceed with Plan No. Three. Attack!”

She jumped off the guardrail. Her original plan had been to attack during a crucial mont and deliver a fatal strike, but now, everything had been thrown into disarray, so she had to join the battle ahead of ti.

Once they received their orders, her team mbers imdiately started searching for their positions, just like they had done during rehearsals. The ones in charge of the main offense charged at Chen Chuan.

A group fight was different from a one-on-one. A well-coordinated team could amplify the entire group’s strength, which was why they hadn’t lost their confidence. Once they started moving, they swiftly got into the zone.

Chen Chuan stared at the people charging at him. The special dicine had given him a substantial boost in power. It might be a slight improvent, but once a martial artist reached a certain level, like the Third Limit, every bit of improvent was a great step forward.

Compared to the past two months, the strength he displayed right now was on another level.

Hence, in his eyes, everyone was moving in slow motion. He could even see the trajectory of the Third Limit martial artists rushing at him as clear as day.

Chen Chuan brought a hand up, clenched his fist, and white steam rose from him.

In a fight to the death, the faster person, even if by a little, would be the one who was going to make it out of the fight alive.

The attackers had been watching him, but the next second, he vanished from their sight.

Boom!

A loud crash ca from their side.

One of them had jumped up to attack Chen Chuan, but Chen Chuan had leapt above him and punched him, sending him straight to the ground. It shattered, and the person lay in the gravel. There was an obvious, awkward bend to his spine, which made it clear that he could no longer fight.

Before the group could realize what had happened, they heard another loud crash not too far away. Another one of the team mbers in charge of the main offensive had been sent crashing into the guardrail.

Chen Chuan stood in front of him with a hand against his chest. The person’s back was practically embedded into the guardrail, and it seed like he had lost consciousness.

The remaining team mbers’ faces turned pale with terror, and the desire to fight that had just started burning in them was snuffed out like a candle in the wind.

Even though they weren’t exactly strong individually, they worked well together and could win against truly powerful enemies.

But for that to work, they needed to be able to hold back and hit their enemies. If they couldn’t even see their enemy’s movents clearly, they couldn’t work together, much less gang up on him.

The Third Limit marksman was covered in cold sweat.

Even though he couldn’t see Chen Chuan, he didn’t actually need to take aim, considering his skill level. He could rely on his sixth sense to hit his target, but after firing twice at Chen Chuan, he noticed that all his shots felt like they had sunk into the void and did absolutely no harm to his target.

He felt his skin crawl and redirected his rifle to aim at a particular spot, only to feel a hand on his head.

“Hah!”

A loud shout ca from nearby, and Chen Chuan looked sideways. Big Sis Huan was charging at him. The long spikes were coming straight at him, as if they were about to sink into his body.

This one seems to be able to keep up with , he thought.

So, he ignored the marksman, lifted the Frost King Saber, and swung outward.

Big Sis Huan switched her attack and pulled the long spikes to parry the attack.

She didn’t need to land her attacks. Her goal was to save her team mbers.

The powerful refined force charging into her from Chen Chuan’s saber when their weapons clashed made her nearly lose control over her body. The shock from it made her stumble backward, and she had to take a tumble to negate it.

When she looked up, she noticed that Chen Chuan hadn’t even unsheathed his saber.

Is it because he doesn’t need to?

She looked behind Chen Chuan and saw that the marksman was still standing there. Even though she saved him, he hadn’t used the chance to run away. Instead, he just stood still.

Irritation burned in her.

While wondering why the marksman hadn’t run away, she heard a faint snap. Then, to her horror, she saw the marksman’s head splitting apart. Hot steam rose from it, even though he was standing with his gun in hand.

The remaining mbers of the ambush team stopped moving.

They had lost all will to fight. They were originally a seven-man team. Eight, if they included Jiang Huowang. In a few minutes, they had lost half of their mbers.

They had believed that the plan they set up had an 80% chance of success if they fought for ten minutes. The mont they went past that, their chances of success would drop to less than 50%. The longer the fight went on, the less likely they would be to win.

Yet reality showed them that their target wasn’t like what the simulations showed them. They were being picked off like lambs at a slaughterhouse. It had only been around two minutes since the fight officially began, but forget ten minutes, they might not even be able to last five minutes.

Big Sis Huan also realized this, but since she had decided to join the fight, she got rid of all unnecessary thoughts and only focused on killing the target.

As she stared at Chen Chuan, she said into the Realm Pass, “Plan No. Four.”

The remaining three people exchanged glances before using their tongues to knock a tooth loose. The stimulant underneath swiftly seeped into their bodies.

It drained their potential to provide them with an endless supply of blood essence in order to give them a huge boost in fighting power. Once the stimulant’s effects wore off, they would be severely weakened for a long ti and unable to run away.

While they were talking to each other, Chen Chuan didn’t attack. This didn’t an that he wasn’t doing anything, though. He released his biofield and spread it to the remaining four people.

Through the feedback provided when his biofield ca into contact with theirs, he could get general information about their conditions and characteristics.

He turned toward a tall, well-built person.

Big Sis Huan’s instincts scread at her, and she shouted a warning, “Fourth!”

Before his na left her lips, Chen Chuan vanished from sight and appeared in front of the tall man. He kicked him. This ti, Chen Chuan finally t soone in this team who didn’t fall after just one hit. The man brought up a burly arm and, with the help of the leather arm guard, blocked the attack.

With bloodshot eyes that looked like they were spitting fire, he stared at Chen Chuan. At the sa ti, he brought his ax up and tried to slice Chen Chuan apart. But even though he had already brought his weapon up, he couldn’t seem to bring it down.

While he had managed to block Chen Chuan’s kick, the powerful strength behind it made him lose his balance, and he couldn’t get a solid footing. It led to him being unable to generate any power in his arm.

Chen Chuan kicked him squarely in the face.

It was a kick delivered through a two-tier refined force!

Bam!

The man’s chin and teeth were shattered, and he was sent flying. While he was airborne, his eyes rolled back, and he lost consciousness. In the end, he crashed on the ground with a crushed face.

Chen Chuan maintained the posture of the kick.

Even though the man had taken dicine, the strength and speed he gained were not sothing he was used to. Hence, he had many weaknesses for Chen Chuan to exploit.

Just then, he heard a stream of gunshots behind him. Big Sis Huan had ordered the other non-Third-Limit martial artists nearby to forget about holding back the security guards and shoot at Chen Chuan.

Even though normal bullets weren’t much of a threat to him, they could intercept him and hold him back.

At the sa ti, Big Sis Huan charged forward.

She couldn’t tolerate Chen Chuan picking off any more of her team mbers. She had to charge forward to give her people ti to get used to their new strength while also creating a chance for them to join the fight.

She didn’t move in a straight line. Instead, she relied on the power in her legs to move in a zigzagging fashion to keep changing her position. The people behind her could even see afterimages due to her high speed.

Chen Chuan didn’t even bother dodging the gunshots. He brought his hand up a little so the bullets would land on his protective jacket. anwhile, he watched Big Sis Huan through the gaps between his fingers.

When she perford another sidestep, he stepped in that direction. He moved so quickly that he traveled more than ten ters in an instant and intercepted Big Sis Huan in her path.

The sheathed saber went up and ca down tearing through the air with a violent howl.
