Chapter 150.1: Total Massacre (Part One)

Even though Lionfist’s gang was staying just four hundred ters away from the hostel, they could run into unforeseen circumstances, so Hu Xian decided to drive Chen Chuan over.

Chen Chuan noticed another car following them, but he couldn’t see who was inside it. Still, they weren’t trying to hide, so they had to be on their side.

Hu Xian drove forward while staying alert to her surroundings. “Let

tell you sothing. While the examination committee doesn’t care about what you do to pass the unrestricted defense permit test, they won’t jump in to help you. Still, things aren’t always the sa. If you’re in danger, you can ask us for help.”

“Won’t that an giving up on the test?” Chen Chuan asked from the back seat.

“Yes, but which is more important: Your life or the test?”

“Thanks, Ms. Hu,” Chen Chuan said with a nod.

“Chen Chuan, since you’ve been treating

with respect, I’ll definitely help you if you’re in danger. I’ll ask Lao Wan to go with you to et those guys. You’re the buyer. If you don’t have anyone following you, you’ll look like you have no status. Lionfist’s gang judges people by their appearance. They will think you’re a nobody if you don’t have an ‘attendant,’” Hu Xian said.

“Okay,” Chen Chuan agreed.

He grabbed his bottle and took a sip. He had been drinking water nonstop since he got into the car, which Hu Xian attributed to his nerves. Finding it funny, she said, “Kid, don’t drink too much water before a negotiation.”

Chen Chuan didn’t answer her and took a few more sips.

When they were around fifty ters away from Lionfist’s gang, Hu Xian stopped the car and said, “I’m going to stop here. I can’t go any further. Anyway, need

to go with you?”

“No need. Thanks, Ms. Hu.”

Chen Chuan opened the door and got out. He waved goodbye to Hu Xian, secured the Frost King Saber to his back, and went to the four-story building in front of him. Lao Wan got out too. He gave a nod to Hu Xian before following Chen Chuan silently.

Hu Xian watched them walk to the building. Just then, she saw the bottle left on the back seat. It looked really light, so Hu Xian believed that he had finished all the water inside.

She was surprised but also found it hilarious. If he drank so much water, wouldn’t he...

Wait.

Hu Xian frowned and turned her gaze back to the building.

Was Chen Chuan... going to do sothing?

At this point, Chen Chuan had already arrived at the door. He had only brought the Halberd Pistol—hidden in his pocket—and the Frost King Saber—displayed blatantly on his back.

When the two lackeys saw him, they stepped aside for him and said, “This way, Mr. Chen.”

They didn’t ask him to remove his weapon. They were at the border of the Chaotic Land, so asking others to negotiate a deal in their territory while forbidding them to bring weapons was no different from asking them to die in their place. No sane person would agree to it.

Ran Xiaoli ca forward to greet him in a long, red slit dress and bright red lipstick. As the only woman in the gang, she was in charge of welcoming the buyers. This was a sign of respect and a way to show friendliness.

When she saw Chen Chuan, she tapped her lips with painted nails and gave him a flirtatious look. “Please follow , Mr. Chen.”

The building was quite large. The first floor had been repurposed into a lounge. A few sofas ford a circle under the chandelier. The space in the middle was empty. It seed like it was arranged like that for so sort of demonstration later.

A tanned, well-built man with many small braids in his beard and hair sat on the sofa across from where they ca. Two lackeys stood by his sides. Ran Xiaoli went straight to him and whispered into his ear before turning to face Chen Chuan and Lao Wan.

Lionfist breathed in a very rhythmical manner, which proved that he had trained in martial arts before and had been quite skilled. His muscles were also tensed up, and he was so heavy that the sofa sank in despite his average fra.

Chen Chuan could not see any signs of bio-shells on his exposed skin, but based on how tough his muscles looked, they had to be under his skin. The technology behind his implants was much more advanced than that of Scar Face and Fang Dawei’s gang.

Lao Wan beca on guard while standing behind Chen Chuan and placed his hand over his gun so that he could draw it at any mont. Lionfist appeared relaxed, but there was a hint of madness in his eyes, as if he was going to go on a rampage in a blink of an eye.

He sized Chen Chuan up and grinned. “You must be the buyer Fox Deity introduced to us. How should I address you?”

Chen Chuan glanced around casually before answering, “Mr. Chen.”

“Pleasure to et you, Mr. Chen. Please, take a seat.”

Lionfist might be politely asking him to sit down, but he had not stood up when making the offer.

He wasn’t looking down on Chen Chuan just because he was young. Any young person who could fork out that amount of money was bound to have a powerful background. Lionfist himself had run away to this place because he had offended soone like Chen Chuan.

But if he didn’t show an imposing side, he would give the impression that he was in a hurry to sell the Tayana Combat Spider, which would make negotiations more difficult. Besides, Chen Chuan wasn’t the sole buyer, and he was the one who approached Lionfist through Fox Deity. There simply wasn’t a need for Lionfist to show any ekness toward him.

Two of the four lackeys shifted to stand behind Chen Chuan, though they were spread apart. Both of them had guns and were ready to open fire at a mont’s notice.

Chen Chuan cast a glance at a corner. The two Tuo Qis were standing there. They looked as if they were leaning against each other’s back. One of them held two sabers, while the other held a spear. The one in front was scanning Chen Chuan and Lao Wan with a threatening glare.

Chen Chuan went to the sofa on the left and handed the Frost King Saber to Lao Wan before sitting down. Then, he looked at the unoccupied sofa across from him before asking, “What’s this? Is there another guest coming today?”

Lionfist shrugged and said, “It’s really unfortunate, but when you asked to buy the spider from , I was negotiating with another potential buyer. When it cos to business, it’s first co, first served, right? Still, we have to show respect to Fox Deity. That’s why we invited you to co here.”

“I’m the one in the wrong here. I was in a hurry to carry out the boss’s orders and wanted to sell the spider as soon as possible. If I had known that we’d have a potential buyer like you, why would we have looked for soone so far away?” Ran Xiaoli said delicately.

“Enough talk. Mr. Lionfist, since you know why I’m here, can I check the goods?” Chen Chuan asked while leaning back into the backrest.

Lionfist grinned. “That’s not very appropriate, is it? How about we inspect the spider when everyone has arrived? That’ll be more fair. I need to keep my promises to make a living in the underworld.”

Chen Chuan remained silent, but Lao Wan spoke up. “How long do we have to wait, then? Young Master Chen’s ti is precious. He can’t waste it here.”

Lionfist turned to Ran Xiaoli. “Go take a look and see why Blue Sparrow isn’t here yet?”

It was almost ti for the eting. Chen Chuan had arrived, but Blue Sparrow hadn’t. It made Lionfist displeased. The latter seed to be intentionally leaving him hanging.

Ran Xiaoli walked out.

Lionfist looked at the others and snapped at them, “Are you guys stupid or what?! Serve Mr. Chen tea!”

“No need. I only drink my own tea,” Chen Chuan said and beckoned at Lao Wan.

Once the man bent down, he ordered, “Fetch my tea leaves.”

Lao Wan gave him a aningful look and put the Frost King Saber against the backrest, then nodded and left.

Lionfist sneered at Chen Chuan’s actions. Rich kids were all like that. As long as he could earn money, though, he could tolerate such behavior. Besides, the tea offer was just a polite, off-hand comnt. How could he possibly offer good tea?

Ran Xiaoli soon returned and whispered into Lionfist’s ear. Then, she smiled at Chen Chuan and said, “Mr. Chen, the other buyer is on his way here. He should arrive within five minutes. Please wait a little longer.”

“Five minutes? That’s enough ti,” Chen Chuan said with a nod.
