Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Changes in the Backyard Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Changes in the Backyard When Sean Knight was heading back, Joanna Davis was at ho, listening to her mother Angie’s persuasion.

“Your father’s business is backed by Councillor Schultz.”

Joanna firmly said:

“My father is my father, and I am ! I don’t plan to work at my father’s freight yard, so can Councillor Schultz control ?”

“He can’t control you, but he can control your father.” Angie said seriously, “I know you don’t feel comfortable hearing this, but it’s the truth.

You are still in university and have not started a business yet. You are still a mber of the Daun family. If your father Robert’s business wants to continue growing, it cannot do without Schultz’s support.

And if you want to continue living this worry-free life, you can’t do without family support. Whether you like it or not, you are already labeled as a mber of the Daun family.

If Congressman Schultz finds out about this and strongly opposes it, you can imagine the final situation:

Either your father’s business will plumt, and we’ll lose everything we have now, or you’ll have to break up with that Chinese boy, no matter how outstanding he is…”

Speaking out such brutal facts, Angie herself felt sad.

Joanna couldn’t bear it, she shouted, “Stop talking!” then turned and ran into her bedroom, and slamd the door shut.

Angie shook her head, Joanna had to figure it out on her own.

At this mont, she was a bit curious about Sean Knight.

What kind of boy can make Joanna so indecisive?

After feeling sad in her room for a while, Joanna called Sean.

Upon hearing Joanna’s crying voice on the phone, Sean panicked. He imdiately pulled the car over to the side of the road and hurriedly asked:

“What’s wrong, dear? Did sothing bad happen? Tell , maybe I can help you with it…”

Sean’s concerned tone and attitude made Joanna feel better. She told Sean what her mother had said.

“Sean, I don’t know what to do now…”

Sean suddenly felt overwheld!

Although he had heard about Joanna’s father from Mr. John, he thought their views would change once he acquired wealth of the sa level.

It seems that he was overly optimistic!

Whenever politics is involved, the trouble is big!

Nevertheless, he still had to comfort Joanna:

“Dear, don’t worry, I’ll handle everything! I’ll take care of this matter!”

“So what should we do?” Joanna said pitifully, “I want you… I want to be with you…”

“Bear with it for now.” Sean reassured her, “While you’re at school, I can sneak over to see you, but it’s best not to anger your parents for now. Once I’ve taken care of everything, we can be together openly!”

Although Joanna didn’t know what thod Sean would use, a girl in love would trust her lover unconditionally.

The two talked for a while before hanging up the phone.

Sean felt as if he had a big headache!

Robert’s backstage supporter was a congressman!

Whether it’s a city or state congressman, it’s not sothing Sean can handle now… well, not necessarily!

Sean imdiately thought of Robert – of course, the one who worked for him.

Both nad Robert, what a coincidence!

Subsequently, Sean thought that maybe Robert could co up with a solution.

However, the current priority is to work hard to make money!

Without money, even if Robert could do it, he wouldn’t.

After all, dealing with a congressman is terrifying just to think about!

Sorting out his thoughts, Sean realized once again that he must make money as quickly as possible without attracting attention.

He couldn’t keep his focus solely on the containers any longer. That place was full of fish dragons and was too easy to catch soone’s eye.

Continuing driving, before reaching his destination, Jason Caldwell called:

“Bosuns, dinner is ready here. When will you co to eat?”

“What’s for dinner?” Sean asked while driving.

“Dumplings?” Jason spoke in Mandarin, with a strange pronunciation.

But Sean understood, there were dumplings to eat?

How could he not go then?

“Wait for !” Sean excitedly drove towards Jason’s container.

Getting out of the car, he slled the familiar scent.

Sean’s nose felt sour. On the day he left ho, his mother had made dumplings, and she still smiled through her tears, saying, “Farewell dumplings, wind-blown noodles. After this dumpling al, the next al is noodles.”

As a result, this dumpling al lasted for several months!

Seeing Sean’s arrival, Jason imdiately greeted him.

On one side, the two younger black brothers set the table, and on the other, one was peeling garlic.

Freya Perez was busy alone in front of the stove, looking very skillful.

She turned her head and saw Sean, smiled and nodded, and continued pouring soup over the boiling dumplings.

Sean wanted to help, but Jason said:

“Bosuns, you don’t need to do anything. They’re almost done. Don’t worry, their hands have been washed several tis, they’re very clean.”

Sean was amused, Jason was very particular. Or rather, he was very concerned about Sean’s opinions.

Freya brought two plates of dumplings, Malawi Perez placed a bowl in front of Sean, and brought vinegar, sliced garlic, and chili oil. It was very authentic!

“What’s the filling?” Sean asked Freya.

“This plate is chive and egg, and there’s another pot of beef and cabbage.”

“Okay, okay, okay.” Sean said happily while adjusting his sauce bowl.

Uncontrollably, saliva started to secrete in his mouth.

Delicious!

This ti, Sean ate about sixty dumplings.

Luckily, Freya had anticipated this, and with the help of the two younger black brothers, they made dumplings all afternoon, otherwise, there might not have been enough!

Touching his round belly, Sean burped contentedly.

Jason had finished eating long ago. Seeing that Sean had had enough, he brought a bowl of dumpling soup to the table and sat next to him, saying:

“Bosuns, in the past few days, I think we should change locations?”

“Why? Did you hear any news?” Sean was surprised. Jason wouldn’t just shoot without aim.

Did soone really have their eyes on him?

“My friend told that soone thought you made too much money recently, so they want to target you.” Jason said directly.

“Oh… can you find out who it is?” With Robert’s reminder, Sean was ntally prepared.

Knowing yourself and your enemy is an old saying.

“Not yet.” Jason was sowhat ashad, “Our ti here is short, and it’s not easy to get information.”

Sean nodded, this was normal.

He just needed to be more careful. Maybe he could get so information from Mr. John?

“You be careful too. If you can find out more specific information, let know in ti.” Sean took out 500 dollars and handed it to Jason, “Don’t be stingy if you need to spend money.”

Jason reluctantly accepted. Money makes things easier, everyone knows that.

Sean drove out of the freight yard, completely unaware that a pickup truck followed behind him.
