Road to becoming the wealthiest: Starting From Treasure Hunting in the Cabinets Chapter 1418 - 686: Hundredfold Return
There was a burrow of badgers in the underground den. They were not small by any ans.
However, what Sean Knight was interested in was not them, but sothing hidden beneath the earth platform in the back room to the left!
Naturally, the earth platform was a bed. It appeared to be made of solid soil, but in reality, it was constructed from adobe bricks, which enclosed a spatial realm. At that mont, two big packages wrapped in animal skins were placed in that space.
One package contained a miscellaneous assortnt of items, including salt, dried at, and flatbreads.
The contents of the other package were truly eye-opening for Sean Knight!
It was actually several dozens of sparkling, translucent rough diamond stones!
The smallest were the size of broad beans!
And the largest was bigger than a baby’s fist!
Besides these diamonds, there were also so gold and silver coins, as well as a small pile of natural gold ranging in size from as large as eggs to as small as fingernails.
Sean Knight was now completely certain that there was definitely a rich diamond mine on his own land!
Thinking about how, centuries ago, those Tantans managed to obtain so many with just primitive thods, then now...
Thinking about having a diamond mine on his own land, even though he actually knew that ores shouldn’t be that valuable, Sean still couldn’t help but beco excited.
Although the diamond market was monopolized, couldn’t he just sell them secretly? It’s said that diamonds larger than ten carats are considered collectible, that is, they can retain their value.
So, he would only pick the large ones to sell!
Of course, he couldn’t just sell the rough stones as the profit margin wouldn’t be high, it would be better to sell them after they’ve been cut and polished.
As Sean thought this, his hands moved quickly. He simply snapped off a stick from a nearby tree and began to clear away the shrubbery at the den’s entrance.
As the shrubbery moved, the badgers inside started to stir, but they did not co out. After all, the den was quite deep.
Sean cleared away so weeds, and the grown shrubbery could be uprooted but not completely cleared away. Seeing this, a team mber ca over to help, and Sean quickly said,
"Just now, I saw freshly dug soil at the entrance. There must be an animal inside, don’t get bitten!"
As soon as they heard there was sothing inside, the team mbers imdiately got excited. He called over two more people, and with tools in hand, they gathered a pile of grass from nearby and piled it at the entrance before setting it on fire.
Soon, the grass caught fire. They covered it with so fresh tree branches, and smoke began to billow.
A team mber used a stick to push the smoldering wood into the den, and shortly after, wisp of smoke began to erge from the surroundings of the den.
Clearly, there were ventilation holes inside!
"Go block off those small holes!" Sean said with a smile, "And then get ready—it looks like we’re about to smoke sothing out!"
No sooner had the words left his mouth when movent could be heard from within the den.
The team mbers, clutching their sticks, readied themselves for action.
Sean stepped back, seeing that he could already determine what was happening. Noticing the team mbers ford a protective line in front of him, he decided not to get in the way at the front.
A large badger burst forth, and the leading team mber swung down his stick!
The force was so great that it drove the badger into the ground!
However, contrary to Sean’s expectations, although the badger was smashed into the ground, it quickly shook its head and stood up again!
Despite looking a bit dazed, it didn’t seem to be as gravely injured as one would expect!
But then again, that made sense. This was a badger, after all!
A creature that would even dare to challenge a Lion!
Another team mber swung his stick down hard on the badger’s back, this blow quite vicious, and it broke its back—after all, its head might be hard, but its back certainly wasn’t as tough.
Having been smashed into the soil once again, the badger struggled for a mont but couldn’t recover. It was defeated.
Before the two team mbers could attend to their spoils of war, another badger darted out, followed by another one!
The commotion here drew the attention of the other team mbers, and the escaping badgers were relentlessly chased down.
For a mont, the forest was filled with the shouts and calls of the team mbers.
Sean chuckled to himself, staying by the entrance of the den without leaving. In just a short ti, four badgers had fallen into the hands of the team mbers.
"We’ll get quite a bit of badger oil today," Douglas Cooper said with a smile, holding a rather small badger in his hands.
As he spoke, another dium-sized badger burst out from the entrance, panicked and charging straight at Sean!
"Watch out, boss!" a team mber yelled in alarm.
Sean, however, was completely unfazed. He could tell that this was the last badger in the den and simply stepped on it!
The badger seed to deliver itself right under his foot, and with that step, Sean drove it into the soil.
One of the team mbers, ready with his stick, was waiting for the badger to run from under Sean’s foot to deliver a blow.
However, they hadn’t expected the badger to stop moving as soon as Sean stepped on it.
"Douglas, take it and extract the oil," Sean said, hooking his foot to kick the badger towards Douglas Cooper, "Next ti soone gets scalded, use it to treat them."
With no more badgers inside, though, there were better things to be found!
A team mber ca over with a Short Shovel, and Sean pointed and said,
"Clean out all the garbage from inside, then cut down the shrubbery."
"Boss, is there sothing inside..."
"You’ve seen it too, this must have been a den from the past," Sean said, "Not sure which nation it belonged to. If it was soone’s dwelling, there are bound to be so traces."
Douglas Cooper imdiately perked up, took the Short Shovel from another team mber, and in no ti, cleared away the garbage blocking the entrance of the den.
The team mbers behind him promptly raked the debris aside.
