"Hey, haven’t you seen the ga in the n’s section?"
"I know! You are talking about Sheva’s ga, right? It is crazy!"
"Idiot! He is destined to win the ga, why would I talk about it?!"
"Oh, you an Master Susanto’s ga? It seems he is about to lose, right?"
"Damn! Who the hell is that boy?! He is going crazy!"
"I heard he is one of Sheva’s students, you know?"
Currently, Sheva was strolling around, stretching his stiff body after sitting for about two hours. The ga passed so slowly, and it was necessary to keep the blood flowing inside his body.
It also helped that right now, Arfan was stumped on his seat, giving Sheva enough ti to walk around and observe each ga in this hall.
While doing so, Sheva also tried his best to catch the gossip around. Even though they were outside of the hall, in a dead silence, Sheva could always pick one or two things if he focused on the noises. This was also the case this ti, as he sharpened his sense, nodding along in satisfaction when people talked about Nayaka.
’Yes, that’s it. See how amazing he is...’ The boy couldn’t help but feel proud. Even though it wasn’t him who was in the center of attention, Nayaka, Duta, and Devi were the three students he nurtured carefully, and seeing them thriving was definitely sothing that could make his chest swell in pride.
Still, he put a steel poker expression on his face, not wanting to show any emotion. If the organizer or the arbiter noticed it, he could be accused of cheating or receiving information from the outside, which would only give a headache in the long term. No, that was definitely the last thing he wanted right now.
Then... Sheva also picked up another topic from the whispers.
"You don’t see it, the won’s section is going crazy!"
"Really?"
"Yeah, dina is losing against Dita Karenza! Anna, Irene, and Laysa are also winning, making the competition tight as hell!"
Hearing this, Sheva had to hold back the urge to raise his eyebrows. He still tried his best to maintain his poker face, but it would be a lie if the boy said he wasn’t intrigued.
’The won’s section goes crazy, huh? Never thought that Sister dina would lose in this round after surviving Bathkuyag Munguntuul and so other prominent players there. Dita Karenza... It seems I have to keep an eye on her.’
Even though not a single ga was over here, Sheva had already started calculating inside her head. With Dita Karenza winning the ga, the section would be way more competitive, with the woman, Laysa, and Irene—if those two could also manage to hold their advantage until the end—sharing the position as the leader of the tournant with 5 points out of 6 rounds.
As for dina, she would be stuck with 4.5 points, but that didn’t an her chance was closed. Still, it would put her in a bad situation, together with Anna, who had the sa point to chase the top from behind.
Of course, that was if everything went perfectly as the gossip said. Even though people outside of the venue were able to see the computer engine, they didn’t really know the real situation on the board, so there might be sothing missing here.
That was why Sheva decided to check them all directly.
’Damn, how could Sister dina lose this badly?’ Sheva blinked several tis in astonishnt when he saw the ga on table one for the won’s section. ’She has already lost a bishop, her king is lured into an open position, and her entire troops are in disarray. She has no hope at all!’
When Sheva took a quick peek at the scoresheet, he flinched inwardly, sohow realizing how things could go this badly for dina. It was clearly a case of getting outprepared by her opponent, as Dita Karenze had already put so much pressure on the seventh move of the ga. Hell, the woman even trapped dina’s bishop in 13 moves, clearly sealing the ga for her.
Of course, dina hadn’t given up yet. She still had a big frown on her face, and her eyes darted from one corner to another. It was clear that her brain was still spinning so fast, trying to think of a way to get out of this situation.
However, Sheva just shook his head before walking away, realizing that there was nothing the woman could do now.
’Except if Dita Karenza makes a stupid mistake on her own, Sister dina cannot generate a necessary amount of pressure to force her opponent to make a mistake. It is over for her.’
It was a harsh judgnt, but Sheva still believed in himself in this regard. Inwardly, the boy also put the na on the back of his head, secretly planning to research everything about this Dita Karenza, the storm that threw away the hegemony of the won’s section tournant.
’Even with a limited resource, there is no way a strong player like her only has a rating of around 2100...’
Well, that was a matter for the future. Now, Sheva continued strolling around, watching Anna’s ga against the Vietnase WGM whose na was too long for him to pronounce. The boy couldn’t help but nod silently, feeling satisfied with his girl’s result.
’She doesn’t have the best tournant, but her determination to get up after facing a setback is remarkable. I have to talk to her later, at least to encourage her effort.’
He also didn’t forget to take a look at Laysa and Claudia’s gas, feeling like an old coach gushing over his students who had their first-ever tournant.
He couldn’t help it, though. The three girls whom he guided carefully in the last couple of months didn’t do really well, and while there was a slight disappointnt in his heart, he was more afraid that they were so down they didn’t know how to get up again.
Fortunately, he was just worrying too much. The other two still fought tooth and nail, but Sheva could see that they had the upper hand against their opponents. Now, seeing everyone thriving, the boy finally let out a sigh of relief, going back to his own place.
’Yeah, now, it is ti for to end this all.’
