Well, the mystery didn’t last for that long. The mont they turned into a familiar intersection, sothing clicked inside everyone’s brain, as all of them recognized where they were going right now.
"So, we are going to Master Irfan?" Claudia bounced on the backseat excitedly. "Good! It has been a long ti since I saw him!"
Indeed, all of them also felt the sa. Usually, Irfan would be the co-host of the live broadcast, but in the last Olympiad, sohow, he withdrew in the last second, forcing Bagas to survive on his own. However, everyone could still rember the last words the man spoke to them.
’Sothing big is going on, and I think that this will be good for your future. Just wait for my good news!’
Honestly, they all seed to forget about this ssage, getting too engrossed in the Olympiad for the last few weeks. However, the mont everyone realized that they were going to that man’s house, this mory got dug up instantly, and their brain also got forced to relive that.
Now that they all knew where the destination was, they couldn’t help but wonder, "Are we just going to Master Irfan to tell our tale or to listen to the good news?"
"Both, if I have to say." Bagas, who was in the driver’s seat, answered the question. "Master Irfan wants to hear your story, and he also has great news that I am sure you all will appreciate."
This alone was enough to spike up their curiosity. In the middle of traffic, where they couldn’t even move for a single inch, all the teenagers in the car used this chance to chat about what kind of news Irfan brought for them.
"Sponsorship! It should be that one!" Laysa said excitedly. "Although I am not a mber of his club, I know that he always tries to promote one or two potential players from his club to go abroad! It should be that soone is generous enough to add the money, letting him add more mbers to go abroad!"
"If that is so, he doesn’t need to hide it from us for that long," Sheva argued.
"Well, what if the deal hasn’t been finalized yet at that ti?" Laysa retorted/ "He doesn’t want to disappoint us if the deal was cancelled, so he kept everything close in his chest. Now that everything is clear, he is not afraid to lay all of his cards on the table!"
Well, they had to admit that in terms of creating a theory out of nowhere, Laysa was the best here. The problem, though, was that the theory itself was feasible, and it was hard to find sothing to deny that.
After maneuvering the car through so tight roads to avoid the traffic, they finally arrived at Irfan’s house. Sheva himself couldn’t help but sigh, sohow forgetting the last ti he was here. It should be before he went to Biel, when he tried to convince the entire national team that he was strong enough to deserve the unlimited sponsorship from BNI. However, it felt like a long ti ago, making the boy feel nostalgic about it.
As they arrived, though, Irfan had already waited in front of the door. However, before anyone could say it, the sharp gaze that the man gave was enough to make everyone gulp. Sheva, particularly, felt a huge pressure, as it was mainly aid at him.
"Urgh... Master Irfan... Is there anything wrong?" Sheva asked hesitantly, a cold sweat rolling on his back. To everyone’s surprise, though, instead of saying harsh words that all of them had been expecting, the man let out a thunderous laughter, echoing throughout the street in front of his house.
"Winning the best individual player award and not saying anything else to ?! You rascal! It seems that I need to remind you of who is the boss here!" Even though he was scolding, everyone could see the big smile on his face, indicating that Irfan was just joking around. Seeing this, Sheva couldn’t help but let out a deep, relieved sigh, glad that this was not a serious matter.
"You scare the shit out of , Master Irfan..." Sheva smiled wryly.
"Bah! This shit is still better than how you scared the shit out of ! Don’t think that I didn’t hear about what you did to Novendra! He complained at all the ti, you know?! Wanting for to keep you in line!" Sheva felt a cold sweat on his back when he heard that. "You are fortunate that I am your boss here, so he couldn’t do anything for you! Also, thanks, God, that you are achieving sothing! If not, I cannot imagine how much he would whine about you!"
For all the rants, though, Sheva caught sothing here. There was no heat in the man’s tone, as if he were just retelling a funny story here. "So, you are not mad?" The boy asked carefully.
"Mad? At you, for knocking so sense into his head? Hell, nah!" Irfan snorted. "If anything, I should thank you for the service! You don’t know how infuriated he is after becoming a GM, always flaunting his title no matter where he goes! He is not a bad person, but soone really needs to humble him quickly!"
Well, this was an unexpected turn, but Sheva should’ve already expected this. After all, Irfan’s philosophy was also the sa, picking those who were capable instead of basing on title or connection. That was why he always held an internal competition before sending soone from the team abroad, so that everything was fair and square.
"Anyway, co in! My wife and daughter are out shopping, so don’t worry about speaking out loud!" The man invited the five teenagers into his house quickly.
"Master Irfan, why is it that whenever we are here, you always send your wife and daughter out first? Are you hiding sothing from us?" Laysa smiled mischievously.
"Yeah, I am hiding them from you, because I know that a rascal like you will corrupt them instantly!" Irfan retorted, knowing Laysa’s playful nature quite well.
"Oh, that is a huge slander if I ever see one!" Laysa giggled a little before throwing her body back against the sofa rudely, acting as if this were her own house. "So, anyway, going straight to business, what do you want to talk about, Master Irfan? Is it related to the good news you promised in the past?"
