Theron sat in silence. Alpha lay right behind him, the heat coming off of his body forming in waves and currents.

It had been a long while since Theron had felt pressed for improvent. That was the thing about nature and why he didn’t hate it as much as he hated the rest of the cultivation world.

There was danger everywhere in the wilderness, but he didn’t feel the sa way about that danger as he did about what Kenton had done.

Why wasn’t he furious with a beast trying to chop his head off as he was about Kenton?

It was a difference of nature, of purpose, of circumstance.

Plus, he didn’t have the sa expectations of beasts as he did of humans. He knew what it ant to be human… or, he at least thought he did. To this day, he wasn’t actually sure if he really counted as human or if he was sothing else entirely.

But what was certain to him was that he was pissed off.

In nature he could just slowly adapt much the sa way every other beast did, reacting to stimuli and advancing in response to them. But now he didn’t feel like just adapting as things ca.

He wanted to crush Kenton.

The question was… how.

He had caught Kenton off guard, and he could easily do it again. Outsmarting an enemy wasn’t sothing that he found difficult. There were a million different ways that he could play Kenton to death.

But that wasn’t the sort of satisfying conclusion he was looking for.

The obvious answer was improving his cultivation. But according to Theron’s own calculations, he would need two advancents, not just one. He’d have to reach the Sixth King Resonance.

Kenton hadn’t displayed the full range of his abilities in their battle before he had been caught off guard. Theron had to extrapolate where his limits likely lay.

Maybe a comprehension improvent, then?

Theron’s comprehensions were already far beyond his cultivation. The fact he had a Profound Truth at the King Realm already spoke volus about that.

Learn so new spells, maybe?

No. He didn’t want to do that. Honestly speaking, his personally crafted Spells were far better than most.

Maybe advance [Entangling Blood Vein Pupils] again?

In the past, [Entangling Blood Vein Pupils] had been very helpful, but it was less so now. Right now, it was at the Saint level, aning if Theron activated it he could use Saint Mana instead of King Mana.

With his Void Cores, this essentially ant Theron had Mana equivalent to Transcendents, or at least the weakest of them, whenever he acted.

The trouble with that was that the higher in cultivation you went, the more obvious the flaws of [Entangling Blood Vein Pupils] beca.

He could control the mana, but not the true substance that gave it strength.

The difference between King Mana and Saint Mana was in the Profound Truth. Thankfully, Theron had one so he could display it in its truest strength.

But Transcendent Mana was separated into tiers depending on one’s Transcendent Tribulation. And, obviously, Theron had never experienced one. So how could he display its true strength? He could at best mimic the weakest Transcendents, which was how he managed to kill a Demon Duke.

But even then he relied on the Dagger Call Platform.

In the end, there was only one way.

[Entangling Clone].

However, Theron had already tried to form [Entangling Clone] once before. Yet he had ultimately failed. Even so, that process had taught him a lot about the Body Refinent thods of the Demon Corps, and it was the reason he had been able to deal with Jun so easily.

Without that insight, his battle with Jun would have probably ended similarly to how his battle with Kenton had ended.

It went to show just how good a talent Kenton was… but also Jun.

‘Alright.’

Theron’s eyes opened. “Stay here,” he called over his shoulder.

In a flash, Theron had disappeared. And in another, he was already on the tall walls of the city encampnt.

He took a step and disappeared into the distance, moving like a streaking shadow. Not once did he bother to hide his actions.

“Is he escaping?” Daisy asked with a frown. Despite sso’s confirmation, she still couldn’t believe it. How could a 17-year-old be so powerful?

Theron had sohow managed to realize that sso was a Ti Mancer. In that case, maybe he had a feel for Ti Mana that others didn’t. That would make perfect sense if he was relying on so sort of heavy distortion to hide his real age.

If that was the case, then escape made sense. How could he want to partake in sothing that would inevitably kill him?

“He’ll be back,” Aridia said calmly. Theron had said he needed a week.

The others hadn’t quite made the connection yet, but she had heard the report from Chezx. Hadn’t Theron also said a week to Kenton?

Now, she was very curious. How was Theron going to do that?

She didn’t believe that Theron didn’t have a thod of killing Kenton unsavorily. That ant that Theron wanted a straight-up battle…

Very odd, indeed.

It seed that Theron had forgotten he was an assassin.

Theron shifted through the shadows, his body more in the dark than anything else. He moved with such swift steps that it looked almost like he was moving along with the shifting darkness beneath the moonlight.

He instantly found his target in the distance.

It was impossible to tell how Theron had tracked Jun so easily. Well… if one didn’t know he had the Karma Needle and Thread, that is.

He wouldn’t let such a variable walk around without a contingency plan. He might have been out of the cultivation world for a long while, but his intelligence had never dulled.

And neither had his blade.

SHIIIING.

Jun only had ti to open his eyes. But by then, it was already too late.

His head flew into the skies.

Forgotten he was an assassin?

No.

He just wanted Kenton to feel his humiliation until his final breath. He had already humiliated Jun; he didn’t feel the need to do it again.

He was still River.

Moonlight reflected the depths of radiant blue in Theron’s eyes.
