Despite his words, Theron didn’t pull out a weapon. In fact, he just stood there and turned his gaze toward Alpha with a smile.
Seemingly understanding, Alpha raised his head to the skies and unleashed a howl.
In a flash, he crossed the distance between them, ripping through Urong’s body and swallowing his Transcendent Core whole before vanishing into the skies above.
Theron took a glance above and then leisurely strolled back down, landing by Aya’s side.
"It seems you’ve been busy."
Aya looked at Theron, and then up into the skies.
"I wouldn’t be worried about him. He’s been stuck at Arcane Resonance for a long while now. This is exactly the sort of thing he needs to push beyond."
Aya’s eyes narrowed. That beast was only at Arcane Resonance? How was that possible? There was no way.
The pressure Alpha gave her was no less than a Titan Beast. If it was only at Arcane, then what level would it be at after this?
Aya felt her hair standing on end, but it had nothing to do with fear or shock. The static electricity around Theron was so high that her body had no choice but to react like this. It was only then she realized that Theron was the one the Heavens wanted to deal with right now. Him standing by her side was as good as putting her in the line of fire.
"I wouldn’t worry too much about being targeted either. You can think of the Heavens like a disgruntled wife. She’ll hit you with a rolling pin, but she still loves you."
Aya still didn’t respond, seemingly either trying to process this new Theron, or maybe she was just trying to process all the nonsense she had just seen.
The blood of a Transcendent was still on Theron and she realized that she couldn’t see through him at all.
For the first ti, she wasn’t even remotely confident in defeating him. No, it wasn’t a matter of confidence. The gap between them had sohow grown to sothing she couldn’t understand.
Before, she had always been holding back around Theron, so though they seed relatively equal, she was confident she could easily crush him. But now...?
BOOM.
Alpha crashed into the ground, looking little different from a corpse that had been charred entirely black.
"Hm..." Theron looked over without nearly as much concern as he should have had.
"Aren’t you going to help?" Aya finally spoke.
She was having a hard ti keeping up, but even she could see that Alpha was overextending himself. If it was just the tribulation, it would be fine. But he was also blocking the lightning ant for Theron at the sa ti.
Doing just the first would be difficult enough, but this was too much.
"So what do I do as a Demon Duke now? Am I stuck as one? Or can I challenge for Demon Prince?"
Aya’s mouth slightly parted. Sothing deep inside of her wanted to refute, but how could you refute soone who had just killed a Transcendent?
"... You can always kill for a higher title in the Demon Corps."
Theron smiled. "Is that what you would like to do?"
"No. She just really wants to kill a Chosen of a Demon Emperor. She’s not as subtle about it as she thinks."
The sultry voice of a woman traveled over the wind and Theron couldn’t even chuckle before Aya had vanished. When the latter appeared again, she was holding the throat of Urong’s First Chosen, her eyes filled with a deathly cold.
’Not bad...’ Theron thought to himself.
Truthfully, Aya was overestimating him. He had only been able to kill a Transcendent because of the Dagger Call Platform. It was just that while he hadn’t figured out all its secrets just yet, he had gained much better control than before. As such, outsiders couldn’t sense its abilities clearly. Only the one under direct effect of it could.
She had never seen him use the Dagger Call Platform before, so she had no idea what it could do.
In reality, from what Theron could see, their power right now was actually...
’About the sa. She improves fast too.’
Of course, if Theron brought out the Dagger Call Platform, she stood no chance. Even if he didn’t and just fought alongside Alpha, the result would be the sa. But that was beside the point.
She was truly an exceptional talent. Apparently, she was also one with quite the story.
Why did she want revenge against a Demon Emperor’s Chosen? Such an existence was probably a Transcendent themselves, and certainly not a normal Transcendent.
"Aya, co on, we don’t need to do this." Chosen Yonwei choked out. "My master is already dead and the new Demon Duke needs my help to organize and control the territory. There’s no need for you to fall out with him just because of a few words, right?"
Yonwei threw a few flirtatious glances at Theron, hoping that she would be speaking the truth. Funny enough, she was right, especially if Theron didn’t want to waste ti trying to manage a territory.
BOOM.
At so unknown point, Alpha had managed to get up and pierce the clouds again, only to be brought back down to earth imdiately afterward. He hardly lasted a few minutes before he seed to be on death’s door once again.
However, much to the big guy’s credit, he shakily stood and launched himself upward once more.
"She would be quite helpful..." Theron said a bit sheepishly.
Aya looked over with daggers in her eyes. "I will remind you that I have the favor of a Demon Prince. You can’t casually kill as easily as you have the others, otherwise there’ll be consequences."
"And now why would I want to kill you?" Theron laughed. "You’ve helped out quite a lot. If she’s enraged you enough, feel free to kill her."
Aya paused, and then frowned. For so reason, she felt a twinge of sothing odd.
She couldn’t recall the last ti soone had stood on her side for such a simple reason. Had she even helped Theron all that much at all? She didn’t feel like she had.
