If soone of substantial cultivation had been present, they would have certainly felt it. It was the mark of sothing incomplete—a failure, even.

Sothing like what Theron had experienced just now could be considered a test of the heart, an extrely rare and unheard-of Tribulation to receive at the re barrier to Gold Mancy, but one that obviously required overcoming one’s inner demons.

But... Theron had done no such thing.

He didn’t break free. If anything, he was completely consud by his fury.

Yet, instead of failing like he should have, his soul proceeded to Gold Mancy and in a flash was already bordering on the Quasi Cloud Realm.

It had to be rembered that most people had souls that were far weaker than their cultivation levels. Theron had managed to awaken his Third Eye "early," but by a pure asure of Grade, he had actually awakened it right on ti.

Most people awakened their Third Eyes after reaching Silver Mancy, but one’s Third Eye was technically the Bronze Resonance Realm of their soul. By "awakening" it so late, they were essentially permanently dooming their souls to be perpetually one step behind their Mana cultivation.

Theron was a complete anomaly in this regard, but this was far from all he was—or rather, this was far from the only reason he could be considered an anomaly.

Theron had failed this Tribulation.

Yet he had succeeded anyway.

There was nothing more ridiculous than sothing like this.

It was said that the Tribulation of Heart Demons was considered to be among the most dangerous. Many geniuses had fallen beneath it, confident in their strength and yet lacking in their hearts.

Yet Theron had not only failed, but he had gained from it. Not only this, but his soul had not only caught up with his Mana—it far surpassed it.

His Echoes, having been stuck at the Quasi Gold level for so very long, much like himself, began to grow.

At the sa ti, his Mandates began to display their true power.

Theron hadn’t realized just how little of his Mandates he could fully utilize.

A Mandate was a manifestation of comprehension that could only be maximized at the Cloud Realms. It was ford of Bronze, Silver, and Gold Laws, so how could a re Silver Resonance Soul possibly use its full strength?

Normally, the people of this world fused their Mandates into their Echoes in order to use them to greater effectiveness because their souls lagged behind their Mana. The only way to get their Mandates to display at least a portion of the strength they should was by combining them like this.

But the irony of this approach was that it was a small fix to a larger issue.

This wasn’t to say that fusing Echoes and Mandates was wrong. This was still a very viable path that had great potential. The issue was that it should be a supplent rather than the main al, but too many had no choice but to make it the latter...

Theron had yet to step into Cloud Resonance with his soul, but he was on the verge. At this point, his Mandates were as strong in his hands as they were in any true Cloud Resonance expert.

He was already so strong before, despite how limited he was by his Silver Resonance Soul...

How much stronger would he be now?

How much stronger would his Echoes be by comparison as well?

Despite all these thoughts and the changes his body was undergoing, all Theron could feel was that very sa rage consuming him.

Slowly, the Ice Spirit was sacrificed at the altar of his fury, lting again and again, continuously pouring into his body like an endless wellspring.

This was once again a sight that would have shocked anyone knowledgeable.

Elental Spirits were forces of nature. The rcenary boys had been using an especially special thod, not to ntion taking advantage of the environnt to properly suppress it.

The Ice Spirit had only just been born and wasn’t quite sentient enough to protect itself properly. They had taken advantage of this as well.

Even so, the Ice Spirit could feel danger, and it could feel that it was going to be erased.

Yet, it could do nothing against the sea of fury in Theron’s body.

Ironically, it was precisely because Theron had failed his Heart Demon Tribulation that this was happening. The churning flas within him burned away at the essence of the Ice Spirit until suddenly...

There was nothing left at all.

A pulsing Resonance echoed from Theron. In an instant, the snowy plains around him were frozen once again, as though a second layer of ice had appeared over them.

The world turned to an icy blue with Theron at the center of it all.

Primal.

The level beyond Celestial—it sat on a level even the geniuses of the Hall of Ice and Heart had never touched before.

If Celestial Resonance allowed you to absorb your Mana and heal yourself, Primal Resonance brought you back to your roots, making you so fundantally one with your Mana that you could even begin to shift into and out of it.

It wasn’t as complete as turning your body into Water Mana and back, but it was close and nearing that edge.

The lines between Life Mana and Mana in general began to truly blur at this stage, and there weren’t a small number of Primal talents that ended up driving themselves to an early death by pulling too much on this talent.

Theron slowly pulled himself up from the ground, what wounds he had seemingly vanished.

He trudged through the snow, naked and yet completely unaffected by the cold that had been such a horror to him before.

He pulled his father’s sword out of the ground, and the howl of an awakening beast peeled through the skies.

A water dragon rose out from it, but Theron wasn’t paying attention to the phenonon at all. Instead, he was looking at the humanoid Ice Spirit Beast a long distance away.

The Quasi Do of Heaven humanoid.
