Chapter 314: No Reaction

Theron’s knuckles cracked across Chopra’s face. This wasn’t because the latter had so great defenses, but instead because his hand was in a compromised position. Since his fist was holding the hilt of his father’s short sword, it couldn’t brace itself properly.

Yet Theron didn’t miss a single beat. The [Shedding Water Skin] across his hand tightened, squeezing down so he didn’t lose grip of his blade and snapping his bones back into place in the sa fluid motion.

The Water Mana in that region shifted from one Rune system to the next, a healing spell being cast.

All the while, Theron had already followed up with another combo.

Chopra fell to the knee that had buckled, but he managed to spin his spear polearm into the path of Theron’s dagger, blocking it from taking his head off.

However, as though seeing this would happen, a second kick ca from Theron, this one sliding into a knee that ramd into Chopra’s nose.

No matter how short Theron was, Chopra had all but presented his face to the latter the mont he fell.

It was simply a one-sided beating, a savage crucifixion of a man’s pride. Blood flew, and if not for the streaming power of his inner armor, Chopra would have lost his life ten tis over.

Theron didn’t say a word. His expression didn’t change. His relentless attack didn’t slow. There was an eerie sort of calmness to his breath, a steadiness that not only underlined the fitness of a cultivator that bordered on inhuman, but also a chilling indifference in the face of blood and carnage that revealed the true frigid nature of his heart.

Silence had fallen around Theron; the sounds of the battle had beco aningless. But there was another, greater silence in the face of those watching.

They couldn’t pick out the subtleties and genius in the way Theron was using his Water Mana. All they could feel was the sheer, unbridled gap between the two.

Chi. Chi. Chi.

Chopra’s clothes were continuously sliced to pieces, one needling slice after another cutting into him. He would have already been naked if not for the fact Theron continuously targeted the sa locations, his blade control so precise that incredibly thin cuts were slowly growing deeper and deeper across the inner armor, the sa Runes being continuously worn down.

CHI.

Theron’s dagger cracked to pieces, and Chopra tried to lunge up from the ground to take advantage, his spear flailing almost wildly.

But Theron only stepped back and to the side, completing bodily actions with a swing of his leg that couldn’t have possibly co from his body’s reaction ti alone. He was controlling the Water Mana covering him from head to toe to make his movents sharper and faster.

What outsiders didn’t know was that this wasn’t exactly what was happening at all. But regardless of the underlying chanisms, Theron’s movents weren’t just almost as fluid as water—they were water.

A slashing kick slamd against the side of Chopra’s temple, sending him flying to the side.

With a flip of his palm, Theron took out a new dagger as though he had never lost his own, suddenly pivoting and throwing it behind him. A streaming line of Water Mana followed the blade, sending it flying true despite the fact it wasn’t designed for range at all.

A Sangun had his head pierced, his skull splitting in two.

Several figures stood to their feet the instant this happened.

Death.

A real death.

Theron, however, didn’t seem to care in the slightest. His palm had already been drawn back, arching across the air as though grabbing large amounts of sweeping Mana as it moved, pulling out yet another dagger from his spatial ring.

He hardly wasted a single mont, closing the distance between himself and Chopra once again.

By this point, Chopra looked like a man who had lost his soul. Most of his teeth were missing, his handso face was twisted with pulsing bruises, gaping wounds, and gashes. Even his clothing had been practically entirely stripped from him by now, barely anything remaining other than his inner armor to protect his decency.

And yet, he began to laugh—even when the bottom of Theron’s foot slamd against his face again, sending him sprawling across the battlefield.

Theron didn’t react to his laughter, or to the shift toward darkness in Chopra’s aura. It was as though nothing at all mattered to him.

The chilliness emanating from Theron seed to make his Mana a more and more icy sort of blue, streaked with veins of white that hadn’t been there before.

It reflected the cold in his heart, the deathly sort of intent to kill.

BOOM!

Chopra’s aura finally overflowed, the skin mask that had been covering him shattering to reveal a young man that was sohow even more devilishly handso than before.

His eyes beca a deeper shade of red, but this ti, the strands of his hair followed suit as well, pooling out like a blood river as it grew longer and longer.

His inner armor shifted, snapping into place as Mana ca together to form the shingles of its body and form, then clinking into place like real armor.

He threw his spear to the side and another manifested from what must have been a spatial device, just as ruby red as his armor.

Standing there, he looked like a devil prince ascended from the depths of hell itself. Even his wounds were rapidly healing.

Until Theron’s fist cracked against his face again.

This ti, even Chopra was caught off guard. Theron didn’t seem to see him as a person. He didn’t wait to see what his transformation was or what he was hiding.

In fact, the mont Theron sensed Chopra’s aura change, his own shifted too as he slid into Veinsong. He dug deeper, pulling on his Blue Pufferfish Echo until his body seed to beco as heavy as a small mountain.

Chopra’s face whipped to the side again, more blood flying from him.

The real him.
