Charles White found himself quite busy after he was made the face of the World Governnt Guild. There were a lot of issues that he had to deal with that his older half-brother had left him with and he dived into them right away. The first thing Charles did was to start shifting around several of the poorly structured rules that this portion of the guild had in this hub city. Many of the rules that Kyle had set up while running things caused the image of the World Governnt Guild to fall well below the standards that Charles and all of the higher ups of the guild were hoping for.
Among the ideals that Charles had to change were the clear and obvious favoritisms that Kyle had set up for his friends. Sadly Kyle had a lot of friends so that was an issue that Charles had to deal with right away. Kyle clearly had the conception that won were inferior to n and that showed in his favoritisms for people similar to him. People that were rich, young, and outgoing. It was a sha that most of these people had no idea how to lead a guild in any way and outside of a few of them they usually were power leveled into their current positions. This ant that they were completely useless when it ca to territory wars, town subjugations, and dungeon explorations even if they were usually at the head of the parts of the guild that dealt with those situations.
So Charles quickly started putting people in leadership positions that he trusted. He made sure he still represented the families that were behind the World Governnt Guild with good status in the guild, but he didn't put the second generation rich kids in those roles. Instead he brought up the family mbers that actually worked for their positions, but were over looked because they were either won or because they weren't the spoiled first children that were given their positions before just because.
Since Charles had known Kyle for so long he also knew why the annoying man child thought so lowly of won and he honestly couldn't bla him for it. Kyle was a playboy that fooled around with a lot of won and it wasn't as if he ever loved them. Charles had heard on several occasions from Kyle's friends how he viewed them as trophies and accomplishnts rather than actual love interest. This wasn't all Kyle's fault however since their father was similar in that regard. Not to the sa level as Kyle, but close enough to where Kyle could take it as an example growing up.
Their father's first love had died at a young age with cancer which lead him to search for another wife. Being a politician it was pretty much essential to portray the ideal of an Arican family with all of the values if you wanted to get far in the poles at the ti. So the man remarried, but not for love. The woman he ended up marrying was basically a trophy wife who gave him two kids. Charles older half-sister who was in control of the other Arican hub city's World Governnt Guild division and of course Kyle.
This situation gave rise to the Kyle that Charles knew now. A man that saw all won in the sa vain that he had seen his mother as. People that were supposed to just stand on the side and smile, but it wasn't as if Kyle was born in the 1950's yet he still grew up in such a household. This twisted his perception of woman and the fact that several of them would just go after him because of superficial things such as money and status only strengthened those ideals. The issue is the fact that he thought of all won that way and that bled into the way he ran the guild.
A lot of damage had already been done because of this situation. The World Governnt Guild had lost several high level explorers that were won that were constantly passed over by n that weren't nearly as good at their jobs. It would take a while before Charles could get rid of that perception, but he was already well on his way when it ca to that situation. Many of the people he had placed in important positions were won that were actually good at their jobs.
Another issue that Charles had to fix was primarily a problem when it ca to how things were going in the battle arena. Since most of the stronger guilds were targeting their mbers in the battle arena in an attempt to keep them down Charles decided to fight back. He started to have so of the stronger mbers of the World Governnt Guild that were ranked high in the power rankings get involved. Instead of having a bunch of show offs that weren't true fighters trying to overpower people with their inflated levels Charles had specialist go in and show off their skills so that more recruits would be interested in joining the World Governnt Guild.
This plan had worked like a charm. Most of the more powerful mbers of guilds such as the ones in the Alliance or other high level guilds were usually busy in their expeditions. They only ca to the battle arena from ti to ti which gave Charles a good chance to earn so respect for his guild. Kyle was too busy trying to go on the attack while having a horrendous foundation as a guild instead of building up strength and reputation.
The last thing that Charles was able to focus on recently was getting more partnerships with so of the smaller guilds in the hub city and reaffirming the ones the guild already had. Although small guilds were a di a dozen there was actually a reason that they were able to beco guilds in the first place. To beco a guild you had to have at least one high level mber involved. On their own these high level mbers wouldn't be able to lead their guilds to higher heights that was why they were still stuck as small guilds. However Charles could help them out and get his own benefits out of the arrangents.
Charles had already seen how the alliance was working with small guilds outside of their own group when it ca to defending territories. They would help small guilds capture smaller towns for bases that were located near their much larger bases. This protected them from enemy guilds invading on their territories and also cut down on the territory wars that they had to deal with. This was a lesson he took to heart and planned on using to his benefit. Thinking about the Alliance only made Charles frown as he thought of several mbers of the World Governnt Guild that had left to join the Alliance because of the stupid mistakes that Kyle had made. A few of them were worthy of being in high level positions and showed just how great they were when they helped the alliance take on the first large town subjugation.
Even if so of the small guilds weren't good enough to fill this role in Charles eyes he could still use them for other benefits. If it ca down to it his little bit of help could put him in a good light with the mbers of the small guilds that he cared about. If that guild were to disband then in all likely hood those mbers would co to work for the World Governnt Guild where they would feel like they have a shot at moving up the ranks. All in all there were several different ways for the World Governnt Guild to get benefits from the small guilds and Charles plans to take full advantage of it.
When it ca to reaffirming the partnerships with the guilds that the World Governnt Guild was already tide to Charles had a few thing in mind. The smaller guilds were easy to handle. All of their growth and prosperity had co from working with the World Governnt Guild in the first place. So arranging them in different groups that helped out with further expeditions was an easy task to handle. What truly took so work was rearranging the terms between the World Governnt Guild and the two mid-sized guilds that they had ford a partnership with.
The Scavenger's Guild was the far easier one of the two to deal with. Their leader wasn't exactly a genius and was easily manipulated by Kyle and Thomas let alone soone like Charles who outclassed the both of them combined. The Scavenger's Guild had just lost a territory war with the Fenrir Guild and had lost a lot of reputation for it. A well-established mid-sized guild that was on the verge of becoming a large guild lost to a new mid-sized guild that didn't even have the max number of mbers. Of course Charles didn't look at it that way since he knew just how powerful Joshua and the rest of the high level mbers of the Fenrir Guild were, but other guilds didn't know that.
Charles was easily able to put the Scavenger's Guild in a position where they would be more useful, but at the sa ti this ant that they were even more tied to the World Governnt Guild. Using them as primary Dungeon divers instead of territory war mobsters had a done a lot more for their image over the past couple of weeks.
The Raider's Guild was an entirely different story. The dynamic between the Raider's Guild and the World Governnt Guild was more like equal partners than leader and subordinate at this point. The Boss of the Raider's Guild had played his cards well and gained several good territories while working with the World Governnt Guild that made it so that they could easily leave the partnership at any ti and still be in a good position. Kyle hadn't noticed any of this, but Charles had spotted it right away and had to turn the tide in the relationship before things got too far gone. The Raider's Guild was close to becoming a full on Large Scale Guild and having another enemy that knew a lot about the mbers of the World Governnt Guild was not an option.
It would take ti for Charles to fix that situation, but with the strength that he was building he was certain that he could do so in the future. For now he just needed to keep a steady ship and slowly build the World Governnt Guild into the entity that it was supposed to be in the first place and there wasn't anything that was going to stop him from doing so.
