Davi was teleported to a familiar cave, but a little far from where the other students were fighting.
Then the boy’s ears rang as a deep, guttural roar echoed through the cramped cave, vibrating through the jagged stone walls like a war drum signaling his doom.
His breath hitched, and his muscles tensed instinctively. Then, from the dim glow of the bioluminescent vines clinging to the cave walls, a monstrous silhouette erged, its hulking form shifting ominously in the eerie light.
The beast opened its mouth, revealing massive fangs in a nacing display as its predatory eyes locked onto Davi. It still rembered how this prey had slipped through its grasp last ti, but there would be no escape today. This ti, the monster would make sure to finish the hunt.
So his long arms glowed faintly, as electricity ran around his body. Then he advanced forward with terrifying speed. The air whistled as the creature’s limbs sliced through it, each movent radiating raw power.
Seeing that monster, which for so reason reminded him of his father, the boy inevitably felt an old fear course through his body. Still, he managed to dodge the first strike at the last mont.
His enemy was absurdly fast for its size, but that still wouldn’t be enough to catch Davi.
"This ti, the outco will be different," the boy vowed to himself.
He took a deep breath, pushing out all unnecessary emotions as his mind prepared for the battle ahead.
His stance changed in an instant. The adrenaline burned through his veins, drowning any thought that wasn’t victory. Everything around him faded away; there was no fear, doubt, or hesitation. Just the enemy before him.
His gaze, now cold and intimidating, fixed on the creature. Every one of its movents was analyzed with precision, for Davi knew that one mistake could be fatal.
He wouldn’t let that monster continue seeing him as prey. So, he advanced with ferocity, making a blade appear in his hands.
With a powerful strike, he nearly severed one of the creature’s arms, which barely managed to dodge at the last second.
Instinctively, the monster took a few steps back, as for the first ti in its short existence, it was forced to face an enemy that was on its level.
Not just on its level, Davi was faster and had more destructive power.
"Co on," the man smiled, taunting his enemy. "Or are you going to run like a pathetic prey?"
Of course, the beast couldn’t understand Davi’s words. But it didn’t need to; it could feel by his tone, his stance, his gaze, that human was underestimating it, looking at it like prey.
"Roar!" The beast roared even louder, making the cave walls tremble.
All the other monsters nearby fled instinctively after hearing that exaggerated roar.
Then the monster clenched its fists tightly before making the mana inside its body explode. Sparks of electricity danced around it, and the ground beneath its feet cracked under the pressure of its overwhelming power.
That monster would never allow anything to look at it as prey. The hatred and desire to kill the human before it made it evolve even further.
Once again, the beast charged forward, but this ti, it kicked the ground with such force to accelerate that every step created small fissures in the cave. In an instant, it was right in front of its enemy.
The beast moved its claw with impressive speed, attempting to slice its enemy in half, but Davi managed to dodge once more.
No matter how powerful his opponent was, the boy’s movents were flawless and precise, allowing him to evade with minimal effort.
Any normal person would be too intimidated to do this, even if it were possible. After all, dodging at the last second with such precision exposed the boy to great risk. If he made even the smallest mistake, he would be split in half by his opponent’s strike.
But at that mont, he was in a near trance. His body reacted instinctively, always seeking the best movent.
And so, he continued to dance with his enemy for a long ti, carefully studying its attack patterns, waiting for the perfect mont to strike back.
Moreover, he had reached an incredible mastery over his ability , to the point where he could reinforce his body and then weaken it, using his energy with extraordinary efficiency.
Of course, it would be impossible for a human to have this level of control rationally, but the continuous battles he fought and almost dying so many tis had made his body instinctively know how to react to any situation.
And so, Davi kept dodging with precision, but he knew that just evading wouldn’t lead him to victory. He needed to counterattack, but Davi wanted to wait for the perfect opening to defeat the monster.
Frustrated by not being able to hit him, the beast roared and attacked with even more fury. Its claws sliced through the air like blades, tearing chunks from the cave walls and shaking the ground.
Then he saw the opening he had been waiting for.
In the middle of a powerful strike, the creature exposed its side for an instant. And even that small mistake was enough.
Davi advanced, turning his body with speed and precision, then his blade glowed with a blue hue, as he activated .
His blade traced a perfect circular motion in the air, clashing against the monster’s thick hide. However, despite the flawless execution of his move, Davi barely managed to scratch the creature.
Luckily, the beast instinctively recoiled after being attacked, giving the boy a few precious seconds to catch his breath and retreat as well.
Then, he clenched his fists tightly, his gaze fixed with frustration and a tinge of fear on the enemy before him.
He hadn’t activated any transformations yet, because he didn’t want to exhaust himself before he knew the enemy’s full power. But the was among the most powerful strikes he could unleash. And even that, it hadn’t been nearly enough to injure the opponent.
Not only that, he had landed the strike perfectly after a long ti of waiting, yet it had achieved nothing.
What could he do to finally hurt that monster?
Unfortunately, Davi had only a few seconds to think about it, as his enemy had already recovered from the initial shock and was now charging at him aggressively.
The monster let out a deafening roar, and electric sparks began crackling around its massive body.
The creature extended its long arm toward Davi. The air around it began to vibrate, charged with static energy that made the creature’s fur stand on end.
Blue and purple lightning erged from the void, spiraling in brilliant coils around the beast’s limb until they concentrated at the tip of its finger.
Then a thunderous boom echoed through the cave, making the walls tremble with the destructive force of the attack. In an instant, the monster shot a beam of pure electricity, slicing through the air in a blinding flash, advancing relentlessly toward the boy.
Davi managed to roll to the right and dodge, but the careless movent left him vulnerable. In the next instant, he saw the monster’s fists coming at him.
The boy managed to crash into a nearby wall, propelling his body away from the attack at the last second.
But his peace lasted only a mont, as the lightning shot in his direction, closing in aggressively.
Davi barely managed to defend himself, but soon realized the beast was advancing toward him with absurd speed. The creature swung its long arm, delivering a devastating blow toward him.
The boy jumped back, but barely had ti to stabilize himself before a new attack ca. The monster was giving him no breathing room.
And the boy was quickly forced back in this manner, until there was no more space to retreat. After narrowly dodging one of the monster’s lightning strikes, he saw the beast’s fist approaching his abdon.
With no ti to dodge, David used his to try to receive the blow in the best possible way, but he was still hit by a strong blow.
Then Davi was launched backward like a projectile, his body slamming violently against the stone wall.
The impact made the rocks tremble, and a tallic taste filled his mouth. He spat out blood, his vision blurring for a brief mont.
The pain radiated throughout his body. His breath was heavy. But he couldn’t help but smile aggressively, after all, he knew the fight was only just beginning.
David was forced to use to at least distract his opponent a little and managed to get away from him. Then he took a deep breath and focused on his enemy.
He still had at least one attack he could try to use, the most powerful skill he had in terms of destructive power, the that he had already borrowed from Morrigan to defeat his enemy in the temple test.
