The ground shook violently, as if the earth itself were writhing beneath their feet. On the horizon, the two spotted sothing that looked like a sphere made of rocks, rolling toward them with overwhelming force. With each movent, the impact echoed like thunder.
The rocky sphere suddenly stopped before them, revealing two glowing, yellow eyes. From its underside, eight crab-like legs erged, covered in thick rock yet surprisingly agile. Finally, two massive claws extended from its sides, one sharp, the other oversized and clumsy.
"How should we attack, master?" Sylvia asked.
"Approach it carefully, check if there’s any weak point," Davi ordered, then quickly stepped back, avoiding getting too close to the enemy.
He wanted to avoid using too soon, as he didn’t want to exhaust his powers early, especially when he had no idea how many more trials lay ahead. It would be best to attack only when absolutely necessary.
So, he observed as Sylvia swiftly approached the enemy. No matter how hard the Great King tried to strike her with its claws, it was simply too slow.
The silver-haired girl managed to slip past its right claw before it could close, then ran across its massive body. She attempted multiple tis to strike the connection points between the rock plates that ford its armor, but she couldn’t create even a single crack.
She then tried to examine the underside of the creature. However, its legs were extrely tough and could not be cut. Moreover, upon noticing her beneath its belly, the Great King simply retracted its legs, nearly crushing the girl with its sheer weight.
That said, thanks to her incredible speed, she managed to escape just in ti. Her final target was the creature’s eyes. She accelerated at an absurd pace, climbed onto the beast again, and attempted to cut what seed to be its eyes.
For the first ti, she managed to deal so damage, slicing off one of its eyes. However, after a few seconds, the creature regenerated, growing another eye in its place. It truly seed to have no weakness.
"I’m sorry, Master, but I couldn’t find anything," Sylvia appeared beside Davi in an instant, showcasing her absurd speed.
"I see," the boy said with a sigh, stepping back a few paces. At the sa ti, he activated , weakening the ground he left behind.
When the monster lunged forward to attack him, its weight caused the softened ground to collapse, montarily trapping the creature in place.
"Master, I might be able to deal damage if I increase the mass of my creations, but I need so ti."
"Do it. I can distract the enemy," Davi responded quickly.
He still hadn’t fully grasped the extent of the girl’s abilities. Even so, he could imagine what she ant, she was probably able to create objects with supermassive density, like a sword made from an ultra-concentrated tal or sothing even more abstract.
Davi couldn’t imagine himself doing sothing like that, but her ability seed incredibly versatile. Or perhaps it had sothing to do with , as Davi noticed that while she advanced toward the crab-like creature, Sylvia was enveloped in a powerful aura, triggering so kind of transformation.
Regardless, he needed to do his job properly. He activated , aiming at the creature’s back.
An imnse concentration of mana gathered around Davi’s right arm, forming a pulsating black sphere, dense as a black hole on the verge of devouring everything around it.
Then, in a devastating instant, the attack exploded. A searing pain coursed through Davi’s body as a colossal beam of pure energy shot downward, tearing through the air with a blinding light before striking the Great King’s back head-on.
The impact echoed like a furious thunderclap, and the mont the blast struck the creature’s stone armor, a catastrophic explosion shook the battlefield. Waves of destruction rippled outward as the dense mass of energy slowly corroded and lted the monster’s protective layers, creating breaches in its once-impenetrable defense.
Finally, he summoned his bird, escaping the blast radius. And in that mont, Sylvia, still suspended in the air, had finished concentrating her mana, forging the densest spear she could create.
"Don’t worry, I’ll finish this, Master," the girl said with a confident smile before simply letting go of the weapon.
The extrely heavy spear plumted, accelerating due to gravity, and the projectile shot through the air, striking the already weakened part of the monster’s armor.
And with that, the Great King was impaled right through the middle. The battle should have been won once and for all, but...
"ROAR!" The creature bellowed even more furiously, and everything around them began to tremble. Then, it swung its claw toward Sylvia, far faster than before.
She managed to block the first strike but was knocked to the ground. And in the next instant, she noticed a beam of energy rapidly approaching her.
Fortunately, at the last second, Davi managed to pull her out of the attack’s path, lifting her onto his bird. Then, he wrapped his arms around her and placed a gentle kiss on her lips.
"Are you okay?" he finally asked after the brief kiss.
