Chapter 28: Hunting
Lin Xiao took his portion and ate on the spot. He only left behind a third to share with Wenren Yu who was waiting in the house. Lin Yun also followed his steps and ate most of the at directly.
"So vulgar."
So of the girls looked away in disgust when they saw Lin Xiao’s unrefined way of eating. His mouths were covered with the crumbs of at as he wiped his mouth with his hand carelessly before tucking the last piece of at by wrapping it with clean cloth along with the part that Lin Yun also separated.
"Let’s take ours, girls," Xu Qin said unhurriedly. Behind her, two girls were following her closely as if they were her followers.
Lin Xiao only passed a glance then paid no heed. While the other youngsters were trying to keep their image, Lin Xiao and Lin Yun didn’t seem to care in the slightest bit. In their eyes, there was no use keeping their image towards these spoiled girls.
"Let’s go back."
"Yes, Brother."
The two of them walked back using the sa path as the one they used when they ca here. Lin Yun actually wanted to suggest them using the cliff’s way, but Lin Xiao didn’t want to put Lin Yun in danger.
Once, Lin Yun was unable to hold onto the root properly and crashed onto the edge of the cliff. Since then, his parents didn’t allow him to use the root to easily reach the village. They told him that he should be more careful and build more strength before trying that out again.
"I can’t believe the girls are so spoiled," Lin Yun comnted to start a conversation.
"Heh, they’re already too used with being pretty and swooned easily by the n," Lin Xiao said with great distaste.
"No wonder they couldn’t enter your eyes."
"Of course!"
"So, what kind of girl do you like, Brother?"
"Do you still rember the fairy like woman we saw during the sect entrance test back then? I want my woman to be as beautiful as her!"
Lin Yun paused in his steps when he heard what Lin Xiao said. If he was not wrong, the one who hold the test back then was an elder who was already advanced in age. Even though so, due to her being in foundation establishnt, she still looked as if she was in her twenties.
"...Brother, that woman is already an old woman, right?"
"I’m not saying that I want her!" Lin Xiao quickly corrected his words. "What I’m saying is that I want soone as pretty as that and as powerful as that."
In other words, he wanted a powerful woman.
Sohow, Lin Yun got the image of his own brother getting beaten up by his future’s wife. The thoughts disappeared as soon as it appeared, though. After all, Lin Yun didn’t want to completely destroy his brother’s image.
The two of them reached their ho and saw Wenren Yu was tending on the plants there. He also plucked so that was ready to be used.
"You’re back?" Wenren Yu asked in low tone.
Lin Xiao nodded. He took out the cloth used to store the at back then. "For you. I’m going to try hunting again today."
"I thought you’re not supposed to return back until it’s late at night." Wenren Yu had heard about feast back in the sect, but it would always last until late at night before his friends returned back reeked alcohol.
"Nah, we children are not allowed to drink yet." Lin Xiao waved his hand. "Even if we stay there, we’re not going to last for long."
Lin Xiao was known to be a troublemaker while Lin Yun was known to have a sickly body. the two of them were clearly not the best choice for the young girls in the village. As the two of them had no particular interest to the young girls there, they would not participate.
The story would be different if they had an interest in a young girl, though.
"I see." Wenren Yu chose not to probe deeper and took the at. He was thankful that these two were willing to share their food with him.
"I’ll start to train again," Lin Yun said. With the dicine that Wenren Yu helped to make, he had started to get better and could practice on his own.
Lin Xiao nodded. "I’m going now."
Lin Xiao took the seven arrows left from the previous hunt along with his bow and delved into the forest once more. Running through the sa course as yesterday, Lin Xiao wondered whether he would be lucky enough this ti.
Would he encounter another bull?
Thinking that if he found another bull he would pull it to the village again, Lin Xiao laughed internally. He was sure that the villagers’ face would turn very funny when they saw that they got hunted by another bull just a day after they encountered one.
Swish!
After entering deep into the forest, Lin Xiao began to slow down. He didn’t dare to go too far in case he encountered a powerful beast like yesterday again. If he was unlucky enough, he might not be able to co out alive from his confrontation like yesterday.
*rustle*
Lin Xiao’s eyes landed to the side. This ti, he could see a deer who was busy eating. The deer was alone.
Readying his bow and arrow, Lin Xiao took aim towards the deer.
He waited for a bit.
