He wasn’t being greedy—but this was about getting a fair price.
2K, to him, still didn’t match the task.
Selena could only furrow her brows after hearing his firm answer.
Before she could say anything, Liam added, "It has to be 3K—not a single point less."
He suspected the woman wanted to raise the paynt but only slightly above 2K. There was no way he would agree to that.
Seeing the look on his face, the woman fell silent for quite a while.
"I’ll pay 2K now, the rest after we get there," she said at last.
As a top-level executive, she usually never gave in during negotiations, but this was a personal matter—and she couldn’t find a replacent for Liam.
Liam thought for a mont, then shook his head.
"If you pay 3K now, I can use it to buy items that will increase my strength. That would raise our chances of actually making it to your ho," he said.
He imagined buying Mana or Strength Pills as he spoke.
Even without leveling up, if his attributes increased drastically, what could be better?
Liam couldn’t help but smile as he waited for Selena’s response.

Suddenly, a thunderous rumble ca from outside.
Selena’s eyes visibly trembled upon hearing it.
"That’s him—the Undead King," she said.
Hearing that, Liam couldn’t help but walk to the glass facade to look outside.
He was stunned when he saw a massive undead figure over 8 ters tall, holding a staff and wearing a cloak that covered everything except its face—which showed nothing but a skull with terrifying glowing red eyes.
What was even scarier: it was floating in the air despite having no wings.

Liam received a System notification just from seeing it from a distance.
He could only gape at the description, which clearly said the creature couldn’t be killed.
"How can sothing be unkillable?" he wondered aloud.
"Even if the System tells you the Undead King can be captured—if you’re capable—it’s not as simple as it sounds. The Undead King can turn his body into darkness that cannot be touched," Selena explained.
Liam frowned at this, thinking, "Is this like Milo, who can turn into shadows? Still, it’s useless if this thing can’t die."
If he used light magic to attack it, once the light ran out, the Undead King would likely return.
Of course, Liam couldn’t be sure what would happen if he used Infinite Attack against it.
That skill created an infinite loop of the sa strike—without him needing to keep attacking.
"Do you still think we can leave now?" Selena asked.
"I’d be more confident if you transferred those 3K System Points now," Liam replied.
Just then, he saw the Undead King point its staff toward a group of students.
A dark light bead out of the staff and transford into floating dark phantoms.
When one of the phantoms hit a student, it entered his body—and his flesh began to rot until only bones remained.
The other students could only stare in horror.
They tried to run as fast as they could, but it wasn’t easy because there were too many undead surrounding them. lly, with her rabbit-like figure, was the only one who could avoid the encirclent by jumping high, but wherever she landed, she was surrounded again.
"Coming here was a huge mistake. And that brat intentionally hid this fact from us," Liam thought bitterly.

Liam was shocked by the sudden notification.
He turned toward Selena, who said, "We have to move fast. Once everyone escapes, the Undead King will co for us!"
Liam nodded and reopened his System Store.

"Just Mana? No—I’ll need stamina too if I’m using a lot of Mana," he decided.
Knowing he didn’t have ti to overthink it, he made his choice on the spot.
He bought three Stamina Pills and three Mana Pills.

Naturally, the red ones were the Stamina Pills, as Liam had already seen what Mana Pills looked like.
They glowed in their respective colors.
When Selena saw the pills, she didn’t look surprised.
She had probably bought similar items before.
Liam quickly swallowed all the pills, letting them dissolve in his mouth.
Soon after, he saw his stats change:

Selena followed him quickly, running as he sprinted down the stairs.
Fortunately, she had leveled up and seed used to physical exercise, so descending the stairs wasn’t difficult for her.
They quickly reached the ground floor—where they were t by a group of undead ignoring Simba and Milo.
"Clear them out!" Liam ordered.
"Leave it to , Master!"
Milo dashed into the crowd of undead and with a single sweep, sent them all flying onto the street.
Liam then leaped onto Simba’s back, motioning for Selena to get on as well.
