Alia looks back at before putting her knife away. At first I didn’t understand why but then I rember that she is able to use that new power of hers.
Monts pass and the light begins to form throughout her arm, the bow takes shape once again.
I watch as she begins to draw the arrows back.
Ahead of us are at least 5 or 6 of them, around the sa amount from our practice run.
Shuffle!
So of them start to rush out from behind the abandoned cars with their claws scraping along the ground as they co towards us.
Whoosh!!
I watch as each arrow pierces through them, so going through the head while others target the chest. Multiple bodies hit the floor in an instant as the light engulfs the portion of the body that it hit.
It didn’t stop from looking around for any other lingering zierel but there doesn’t seem to be any other eyes looking towards us for the mont.
"I don’t see anymore," Alia says while taking a few glances.
"We’ll just have to wait for a mont to see if any others arrive," I reply while holding up my sword.
Bang!!!! Thud!!!!!!
We get an interruption almost instantly as a car gets smashed out of the way in front of us. A bigger zierel cos out from behind it with a more muscular build, like a guy who is in the gym 24/7.
Its mouth isn’t as deford as the other ones from before, it still has a jaw with razor sharp looking teeth but it isn’t broken like the others.
The claws don’t seem as long either which ans this one is definitely more reliant on strength.
"I’ve never seen one like that before," Alia says with a bit of fear showing in her voice.
"Don’t worry about it. We can kill it," I reply with confidence.
"How are we going to do that?" She questions with a bit of panic.
"Cover while I rush in, just don’t hit ," I answer with a serious tone.
I turn the sword to face outwards away from and begin to rush towards the zierel. Feeling so of my speed return from the other day.
As I reach the beefy Zierel I swing my sword instantly as Alia’s arrows hit its shoulders.
Slash!!!!
My blade cuts across its chest but it doesn’t seem to go that deep due to this bastards absurdly tough skin.
It goes to swing at and I roll out of the way, feeling the wind from its swing.
As I stand back up I realize that it is already coming at again, everything feels as if it slowing down around . Could this be my life flashing before my eyes?
Pierce!!!
A flurry of arrows pierce through its arm before it can reach and within seconds it completely turns the arm to dust.
I take advantage of the opportunity and start to slash across it repeatedly, slicing deeper with each cut. It felt impossible to cut through originally but it must’ve gotten weakened from Alia’s arrows.
It starts stumbling backwards as one arrow goes into one of its eyes.
Blood starts to spill out from the sword woundsa and another opportunity presents itself. His vision is now even worse with the light starting to burn all around it.
I take a few steps back before running towards it once again.
Hyup!!!
I jump towards it and force my sword through its throat.
Splurt!!!!
Blood spills out from it before it starts to fall backwards, giving the opportunity to pull the sword out and kick off of its chest.
Thud.
I land on the ground without an issue while the big Zierel stumbles for a few more monts.
I don’t see it surviving for too much longer at this point. It took a lot damage from Alia’s light and I cut through its skin multiple tis.
It is still definitely one of the toughest ones I fought that wasn’t a hybrid. I don’t know if it would’ve been possible without Alia here since she is able to use a light bearers power.
When I know how to use this swords power I’ll be able to fight without the extra help.
At least that’s what I think will be possible when I understand it a lot more than I do now, but will I ever be traveling by myself again?
I turn to look towards Alia, she looks like she is definitely exhausted from the fight.
"We should probably setup a camp for the ti being," I suggest loud enough for her to hear.
She just gives a thumbs up before taking a seat on the ground. The light disappears around her as she looks towards .
It makes sense that she would be exhausted since she is still adjusting to the power, I’m sure it isn’t an easy thing to use frequently yet.
Alia still managed to fire off a lot more arrows than the first two tis that she tried it at the church.
"I told you she is strong... But she could still pose a threat to you eventually too," Celeste speaks up.
She is on my side. I don’t understand why you think she’d just betray us like that.
Honestly I think she could’ve killed when we first fought or on the way back to the church. Alia knew about the infection and still chose to co along.
"You don’t make any sense to ," Celeste responds as her voice fades away.
I walk over to Alia and take a seat next to her. The area around us is completely quiet with no real feeling of danger anymore.
Usually I can feel the eyes on so I don’t think they are roaming around us at the mont. I’m sure we will see more of them at so point or another.
"That sword really needs to give you so power already," Alia says softly.
"I’m working on that part," I reply with my gaze on the sword.
