Chapter 709: Chapter 709. Slowly Weakening

The rapid exchanges of blows after Mu Qin drove away her Lord Stage opponents had caught her off guard. First, it was Xan Chi, whose brutish force rendered her weakened hair inept. Then Amon and Sura Yao entered the fray. Though the two entered at the sa ti, their attacks did not.

Amon’s reach was longer thanks to the Xian Cloth. His weapon arrived first, forcing Mu Qin to focus her attention on him. With her diverting her last energy to block his attack, Sura faced less resistance, and that had been Amon’s plan. He arranged the timing of their assaults so that Sura Yao was given the last hit with the highest success chance.

Her scythe emitted red mist that flowed into her once it bit its victim. Mu Qin instantly knew sothing was wrong.

Mu Qin’s hand struck behind her. Sura Yao managed to pull her scythe in ti and used it to block. The impact shoved her back. Violent winds followed the strike. Sura Yao suffered many cut wounds from these abrupt winds.

Mu Qin thrust her other palm in Amon’s direction. Fierce, sharp winds also blasted in his direction, but he managed to move away before they hit.

"Xan Chi, protect her!" Amon exclaid.

Xan Chi returned but didn’t charge at Mu Qin like before. He grabbed Sura Yao and pulled her back. His hamr struck a sharp crescent wind that Mu Qin discharged at Sura Yao.

Mu Qin observed her condition. She could feel her life force slowly slipping away. She tried using her power to purge the strange force draining her vitality. All she could afford was suppressing it slightly. She couldn’t stop it. She frowned as her stare shifted to Sura Yao, who was moving further away from her.

"What a twisted and evil ability," she remarked.

"Stop! Not too far!" Sura Yao told Xan Chi, who was still pulling her away. "I must stay within one thousand feet of her. Otherwise, the soul link is gone."

Soldiers and cultivators who survived Mu Qin’s hurricanes surrounded her again. Seeing two bloody injuries on her convinced them that she was also a mortal. She could be killed.

Mu Qin’s hair had recovered its vigor. Light green aura shrouded it again. It swayed in multiple directions. The wind blades it produced cut her frontmost opponents to pieces. She then zood in on Sura Yao’s direction. Since she couldn’t eliminate the strange power Sura had latched onto her, she figured the other solution was to destroy the source.

A torrent of fierce sand blocked her path. This sand converged into a giant hand that attempted to grab her.

"Move aside!" Mu Qin bellowed. She thrust her palm forward. The giant hand burst apart into particles of sand, revealing Huang Ti behind it.

Huang Ti was between Mu Qin and Sura Yao. Amon had inford Huang Ti prior that they had to protect Sura Yao. Huang Ti didn’t truly understand, but seeing the way Mu Qin was targeting Sura Yao, he believed Amon’s words. Furthermore, Amon’s Beta Puppet had protected him multiple tis. The battle puppet still stayed beside him.

"Echos’ soldiers, support your previous king!" Zhu Yao commanded. Echos’ soldiers replied with a loud battle cry and charged forward.

"Fools!" Mu Qin scolded. She again discharged her wind darts. The darts killed many opponents, but none reached Sura Yao because Huang Ti blocked all the wind darts flying in her direction using his longsword.

"Demon, do not think you can flee!" Zhang Daofeng ca again. His fire and water chakrams flew ahead of him, while Hou Huang and Dim Loog followed from behind.

"Tch!" Mu Qin uttered.

With so many obstacles, Mu Qin couldn’t approach Sura Yao. Amon joined her and Xan Chi. He helped her adjust her position so she remained within the range of her ability, but not too close so they could flee when it beca dangerous.

The battle resud. Many soldiers and temple mbers continued to lose their lives. The Martial Realm mbers were thinning. If one didn’t witness it directly, one would not have believed that one person could reap so many Martial Realm cultivators in such a short amount of ti.

Even so, they noticed one crucial point. The Holy Mother was getting slower and weaker. Even though it was only marginally, it was still sothing. This roused their spirit. Most attributed it to the Holy Mother getting tired from fighting so many opponents. The Lord Stage cultivators knew better. They could sense Mu Qin’s energy seeping out of her unnaturally.

"Give it up, demon! You won’t win against the world!" Hou Huang exclaid. She made a reckless assault when she saw an opportunity. Her whip slipped in and struck Mu Qin’s side.

"How loathso! I nurtured the world. This is how you all repay ?" Mu Qin’s braided hair perford a wide slash. Hou Huang failed to thoroughly block the crescent wind the slash conjured. She suffered a deep, bloody gash on her shoulder.

Dim Loog didn’t waste the chance Hou Huang had created. He had been knocked away earlier. He reequipped his white bow, but used his white spear as the bow’s arrow. The two weapons shone with a bright light. When the spear left the bow, it left behind a brilliant trail of light. The spear was like a speeding cot, headed straight for Mu Qin.

Mu Qin couldn’t dodge because she had just repelled Hou Huang. She swung her braided hair, and it struck the incoming cot directly. The collision resulted in an explosion of light and wind. This explosion disintegrated Mystic and Spirit Stage cultivators who were too close by.

Zhang Daofeng rushed in before the explosion even subsided. His two chakrams spun beside the ink brush. He thrust these three weapons down at Mu Qin.

Mu Qin had been staggered by the recent explosion. She had to resort to lifting her two arms to support his hair in defending against Zhang Daofeng’s assault.

A second, more powerful explosion resulted from the collision. This explosion sent Zhang Daofeng high into the sky, while Mu Qin was sent plunging into the ground. She slamd into the ground, creating a huge crater.
