Chapter 494: Chapter 494. Thank You
Lao Zen looked at the nacing ball of light that was coming over at high speed. He didn’t try to dodge. His hand never stopped writing using his calligraphy stick. Letter upon letter made of water was written around him. With another wave of the stick, the letters coalesced into a tiny orb. He then pushed this water orb forward with his palm.
A wave of water followed his palm. This water wave engulfed the water orb, seemingly drowning it. Suddenly, a roar was heard. The water wave splashed, and a large dragon made of water erged. The small water orb had transford into a dragon, and it was now riding the water wave.
The ball of light crashed into the water wave. The water wave evaporated upon touching the light ball, but it was not so with the water dragon. The water dragon held the light ball with its forelegs and bit it with its mouth. The light ball pushed the water dragon a few ters back but eventually ca to a stop.
The water dragon continued to apply pressure. Cracks began to appear on the light ball. Before the ball was destroyed, Pan Lohuan’s book-whip pierced out of the light ball and went through the water dragon. The book-whip continued toward Lao Zen.
The assault was sudden, but Lao Zen wasn’t late in reacting to it. He moved to the side while at the sa ti swiping his calligraphy stick. He again deflected the book-whip, but the weapon quickly returned. The glow covering it was now so bright that the book-whip looked like a long ribbon made of light. This light ribbon swept around at high speed, trying to land a hit on Lao Zen.
By this ti, the ball of light and the water dragon had both been destroyed. Pan Lohuan was visible again. He held one end of the light ribbon while the other end assaulted Lao Zen relentlessly.
Lao Zen swung his calligraphy stick at high speed to deflect the light ribbon. He was pushed back with each impact.
"Hah! You are not my match!" Pan Lohuan exclaid.
"You are indeed a fearso cultivator who caused the kingdom no ends of trouble," Lao Zen said. "However, we are not in a duel."
Pan Lohuan noticed incoming interferences. Two battle puppets charged at him. They were equipped with flight units, allowing them to fly. These battle puppets were of the high-tier engraved grade. Their power roughly equaled a Transformation Stage cultivator, so they were not Pan Lohuan’s opponents.
Pan Lohuan swung his hand, and the light ribbon cut the two battle puppets to pieces. Despite their seemingly useless interference, they still disrupted Pan Lohuan. Myriad water darts filled the air and headed toward him. He swirled his book-whip around himself to block these water darts.
While he did that, he noticed Lao Zen writing multiple letters made of water. He wanted to interrupt Lao Zen, but it was him who was interrupted again. Four battle puppets approached him.
"Fuck off!!" He yelled angrily. He easily destroyed these Battle puppets, but Lao Zen had already completed his calligraphy move. Two water dragons erged from his writings. At the sa ti, he noticed another group of battle puppets approaching.
*
Ni Zheng was still fighting Yong Ling. He had used the transformation art that turned him into a wereboar. He was now a rock-covered humanoid boar with a massive right arm. As weird as his appearance beca, his battle prowess improved.
Yong Ling’s cultivation had improved to the Peak Mystic Stage after the Royal Academy disbanded, so she had the sa cultivation level as Ni Zheng. However, Ni Zheng’s transformation caused her to have trouble keeping up. Ni Zheng’s raw power escalated a great deal thanks to his two transformation arts. She had to keep moving to avoid a direct clash.
"Don’t think you can keep running!" Ni Zheng exclaid. He pushed his giant right arm forward while executing the Crushing Palm. The pressure produced by the martial arts caused the space around Yong Ling to compress, hindering her movents.
Since she could not dodge, she had no choice but to face the attack directly. She thrust her blazing spear forward, conjuring a flaming hurricane. The flaming hurricane was held by the pressure of Crushing Palm, preventing it from expanding. It was as if a small world of raging flas existed between Ni Zheng and Yong Ling.
The pressure finally could not hold the raging fire energy. It was released in a massive explosion. Since Ni Zheng’s power was greater, most of the blast was pushed toward Yong Ling. She was hit by her own flas.
"Ahhh...!" She yelled from the pain while spinning herself rapidly to douse the fire burning her.
Ni Zheng was about to rush over to finish her when he heard Amon’s voice, "Thank you for helping
gather the rebel leaders here."
The voice caused him to pause. He also sensed four incoming attacks. He swung his rock-covered giant arm and deflected four large flying knives. The flying knives adjusted their flight paths and hovered around a battle puppet. At the back of this battle puppet was Amon.
Ni Zheng couldn’t help but be bothered by Amon’s words just now. Considering this ambush, the idea that he had been used plagued his mind. He said, "You...? You an... This is your plan all along? No...! That cannot be. Our eting is entirely coincidental!"
"It is, and I thank you for encountering you in that jail," Amon said. "Even if I don’t et you, I will find another rebel mber to trick, or I simply let myself be caught by any random rebel mber."
"How did you know I am still loyal to the rebels?" Ni Zheng asked.
"What do you think? Do you truly believe I buy that sob story about you betraying the rebel for the sake of a child? Do you think I will not have soone investigate your background? I knew you were Ni Lulu’s cousin for quite a while already."
Ni Zheng was speechless at the revelations.
"Before we finish you, let
thank you. You eased my work in convincing the rebels about
possessing the Allure Beacon."
"You... Is it a lie? You are not the one who has the Allure Beacon?" Ni Zheng asked.
"Hehe. You will have to bring that question to hell," Amon replied. The four Alpha Flying Knives hovering around him shot back at Ni Zheng.
Ni Zheng wasn’t afraid of those knives. His Rock Suit made him impervious to sharp weapons, especially ones controlled by a cultivator who was not only wounded but also weaker than him. One swept of his arm, and the four knives bounced far back.
His enemy was not only Amon. The mont he repelled the four knives, four battle were puppets closing in on him.
"Do not think you can bring
down with these toys!" Ni Zheng exclaid. His giant hand used the Crushing Palm on one of the battle puppets. The puppet was crushed into tiny scrap.
Though the high-tier engraved battle puppets were not his opponents, he was also not at Pan Lohuan’s level. He couldn’t destroy many battle puppets with a single move. Thus, the other puppets managed to get into a lee contest with him.
Ni Zheng was still superior. The puppets’ punches couldn’t hurt him much due to his rock suit, while his wereboar transformation and giant arm let him deliver powerful force with each strike. The battle puppets were soon riddled with damaged parts.
The battle puppets were just distractions. Ni Zheng’s true opponent, Yong Ling, had received the ti to recuperate. This allowed her to prepare a counterattack. After getting rid of the flas on her, she gathered her power. While Ni Zheng was still busy with the battle puppets, she charged while thrusting her spear forward. Flas gathered around her spear, and she turned into a fiery, shooting cot.
Ni Zheng sensed the power. He hurriedly turned back and slapped his giant Crushing Palm in her direction. It was a similar situation to before. Ni Zheng’s palm and Yong Ling’s spear pushed against one another. A small world of pressurized energy ford between them.
Unlike before, though. Ni Zheng perford his martial arts hastily. The power generated by his palm was not at full throttle. Furthermore, he was tired. He hadn’t been given a reprieve. Thus, he couldn’t overpower Yong Ling as easily as before.
When the contest of energy was still ongoing, Ni Zheng sensed a sudden spike of energy behind him. He couldn’t afford to turn his attention back, so he just gritted his teeth when several powerful impacts hit his back. These impacts resulted in fiery explosions. He felt extre heat from them.
With those interruptions, the power holding Yong Ling’s assault waned. The pressurized energy between them exploded, and the blast went in Ni Zheng’s direction. The penetrating force of Yong Ling’s spear continued forward, shattering the rock layer covering Ni Zheng’s arm and piercing his flesh.
"Aarghhh...!" Ni Zheng yelled from the pain. A gaping hole was seen on his giant naked arm. Rock no longer covered that arm. Amon’s ceremonial dagger ca at this opportune mont and cut his giant arm clean off.
Ni Zheng’s wail beca even louder. He pressed his bleeding stump and turned back. He ca face to face with a giant flaming bird. It was the Sun Hawk. The explosive impacts that hit his back were the fireballs from this Sun Hawk.
The Sun Hawk unleashed the remaining of its flas with a condensed stream of fire. The intense fla lted the rest of Ni Zheng’s protective rock. Yong Ling’s spear ca again at this ti. It pierced into the back of Ni Zheng’s head, ending his life.
