Chapter 350: Chapter 350. Two Tad Beasts

Amon rode his Thunder Roc back to his residence, which attracted much attention. He didn’t care. With Ha Gild telling his assistant to make his achievent a formal record in the Royal Academy, everyone would know his feat anyway.

He let the Thunder Roc enter his residence. The top ten residences in the senior class had a colossal extra door. This was ant for their tad pets. Beast Tar was an official job taught in the senior class, so this extra door was fitted to the residences to accommodate the job. Even the dormitory had collective cages next door for students to keep their tad pets.

Inside, where no one was looking, Amon sent the Thunder Roc into his black space ring. With his black space ring, he had an advantage other beast tar didn’t. He could bring his tad beast anywhere and summon them as he wished when needed.

The Thunder Roc wasted no ti to perch next to the Primordial Blue Lotus. It wasn’t a spirit beast that could evolve, but it was attracted to the lotus, nonetheless.

Lin Li was tending to the lotus at the ti. She was not surprised by the Thunder Roc because she witnessed the roc’s entire taming process.

Amon’s phantom projection appeared beside her. "Do you still wish to form a ntal link with ?" He asked.

Lin Li nodded. "You truly can form a ntal link with two spirit beasts?" She asked in return.

"I can. But before we proceed, I need to show you sothing."

A black aura enveloped Amon’s phantom projection. Because this was his ntal self, the demon aura made him appear much more sinister than it would on his physical self.

Lin Li didn’t show any change in her expression.

"You are not surprised?" Amon asked.

"Should I?" She asked back. The confusion on her face was genuine.

Amon expected this response, but he was still relieved. Spirit beasts were not as discriminative on the subject of divine and infernal energies. It made no difference to them. Even the Thunder Roc he had just tad exhibited infernal energy because it used an elent produced by that energy.

"I need you to promise

one thing," Amon told Lin Li. "If one day you communicate with soone other than , under no circumstances may you inform them about my infernal energy."

"Why?" She asked.

"Because humans are complicated beings. They will wish

harm if they learn this fact about . You don’t want people to wish harm upon , do you?"

"I don’t think I will communicate with any human other than you, but okay. I promise you. I will keep this a secret," Lin Li said.

"Good," Amon said. "Let’s proceed with the ntal link. Give

your hand."

Lin Li complied. The two held hands. The aether between the two synchronized at a rate that surprised Amon. The speed was because Lin Li was active in the synchronization process, like when two cultivators perford elental support. Amon’s surprise was because Lin Li could manipulate her aether, sothing that only cultivators or higher-grade spirit beasts were known to be capable of. Amon was even more convinced now that he made the right call in forming a ntal link with her.

Amon proceeded to enter his energy space and construct his energy cord. However, he didn’t form his energy cord from his normal energy core. That energy core already had a ntal link with the Thunder Roc. He couldn’t form another energy cord from it. He constructed the second energy cord using the aether from his black energy core.

He brought this energy cord and entered Lin Li’s energy space. Unlike when he tad the Marsh Howling Hound and the Thunder Roc, everything was clear the mont he entered the space. There was even a soothing voice calling to him, which allowed him to identify the position of Lin Li’s energy core imdiately.

’So, this is the difference in forming a ntal link between using force and affection,’ Amon thought.

The Marsh Howling Hound and Thunder Roc were tad by him dominating them using force. Lin Li went through this process out of her own will. Hence, Amon didn’t use his trick of splitting his energy cord into energy threads. He also didn’t prepare an energy shield when his energy cord touched Lin Li’s red energy core.

No repulsive shockwave occurred from the touch. Instead, the surface of the red energy core was like jelly. It gave in as Amon’s energy cord pushed inside. Before long, the energy cord was embedded deep enough, and a ntal link was ford.

When Amon ford ntal links with previous spirit beasts, their senses intertwined for a short duration. This ti, it was not only their senses that beca one, but he also received so of Lin Li’s mories. He experienced her running through the woods, sotis out of joy, and sotis out of fear of being chased by sothing. He experienced her eting Madam Lin and how she experienced peace after living in insecurity for so long.

These mories were only fragnts, but it was as if he experienced these mories himself. He suddenly realized this mory-sharing went both ways. He quickly shut himself. Lin Li’s mories stopped flooding into his mind.

He opened his eyes and looked at her. She was looking back at him. Amon couldn’t tell what she was thinking. The mind-sharing had stopped. He didn’t know what she glimpsed from his mory.

She smiled and hugged him, which surprised him again. She never did this before. She let him go and approached the Thunder Roc. Considering the two were now linked with Amon, the two shared common ground. The Thunder Roc looked at her and gave an acknowledged cry.

Amon thought for a mont. He then sent a ntal command for Lin Li to co over.

Lin Li looked back and asked, "Do you need

for sothing?"

Amon grinned. "It’s nothing. Forget it," he said.

Unlike other spirit beasts, Lin Li didn’t just carry out his ntal command without question. This was probably because she had conscious intelligence.

Amon left the two. He returned outside to focus on his cultivation.

*

Amon no longer did many missions in the senior years. He only did the compulsory number of missions. The top ten of the senior class were not decided by academic points. He only needed to get into the top fifty to get the right to join the martial arts contest during graduation. Hence, it was more important for him to improve his cultivation rather than hoarding academic points.

His infernal cultivation had been in a bottleneck ever since he wiped out the Wei Clan. He felt he was close to breaking through, but it didn’t happen. Unlike divine cultivation where he could procure a cultivation pill to help with the breakthrough, there was no pill to help with infernal cultivation in the market.

However, one day after he completed the ntal link with Lin Li, his infernal cultivation advanced to the Peak Wicked Stage. He didn’t know if this happened because of his ntal link with Lin Li. However, he could be sure his improvent affected Lin Li because this was ntioned in Ha Gild’s lecture.

The proof was imdiate. An hour after Amon achieved the breakthrough, he sensed an elated feeling from Lin Li through his ntal link. Lin Li even called him to tell him the good news.

"Brother, co! Co and look!"

Amon sent his consciousness into his black space ring. Inside, he saw Lin Li not in human form but in her true form, the multi-tailed fox. She was larger than the last ti Amon saw her in fox form. Aside from her size, one other feature was different from before. She had six tails instead of five. The fact that she had six tails ant she had improved to a mid-superior beast.

She was running around the plantation. She was fast. Her body also seed to camouflage itself as she ran, which made her hard to perceive.

She ca before Amon and ran around him in circles. She couldn’t speak when she was in fox form, but she could converse with Amon through their minds.

"Brother, look! I have evolved! It is not supposed to happen for at least another thirty years!"

Amon chuckled. "Congratulations."

Lin Li transford back into a human. However, the form she took was no longer the small girl from before. She was taller. She now looked like a teenage girl.

"Do you only have one form when you transform? Or can you choose different forms to transform into?" Amon asked.

"Um... I can transform into different forms, but this is the easiest one," Lin Li answered. "This is my subconscious projection of what I look like if I’m a human. If I choose different forms, I must maintain my focus to keep the disguise. If my concentration slips, I will lose my disguise. Perhaps if I reach a higher evolution stage, I can better maintain my transformation."
