Chapter 295: Chapter 295. Outsiders

"Are you serious?" Hu Ti asked. He didn’t mind this arrangent. He was perfectly fine minding his own business. His concern arose when the Street Aristocrats were eliminated. Dao Se ca to him with information that the Demon Gang was planning to beco the underworld’s overlord. His reason for allying with the Sewer Snakes was to prevent that from happening.

It was Dao Se who was unwilling. "Bullshit! Don’t act like you have no ambition to conquer everything. Stop pretending!"

"I do, but I am not like you who charge blindly for short-term goals," Amon returned. He then told Hu Ti, "I’m always serious with my words, but you haven’t answered my question about compensation."

Amon waited for their answers. Hu Ti appeared to seriously consider the offer while Dao Se gritted his teeth in anger. When Amon was about to make good on his threat earlier and started counting, a mber of the demon gang rushed to his side.

"Boss!" He shouted. An urgency was in his tone.

"What is it?" Amon asked. He disliked being interrupted but never discouraged an interruption if it was a true ergency.

"A large number of people are heading here," the mber answered.

"The authorities?" Amon asked.

"No, they dressed like thugs. I am not sure who they are. I rushed here after noticing them."

Despite the big battle planned at this place, Amon left several capable mbers as lookouts in the periter, just in case the authorities changed their minds and decided to intrude on this eting. It turned out that another party had co to intrude. He was wondering who this party was. There shouldn’t be any other underworld organization in this city that dared to stand up to them.

Amon didn’t ponder the matters for long. The incoming intruders were unknown. He didn’t like dealing with an unknown factor.

"Retreat! Let them go!" Amon commanded.

"Oh? Are you sure, boss?" Wu Lang asked. He still had his entangling vines binding Hu Ti.

"Do it, now!" Amon exclaid. While retreating, he said to the two opponents’ leaders. "Take all your people out of our territory. We will discuss compensation later."

The Demon Gang mbers followed Amon’s lead and stepped away. However, they were not fast enough.

"Hahaha! What a party! I want to invite myself in. I hope you don’t mind!"

Many people appeared on the roofs of the houses bordering one side of the field. From a glance, their number didn’t lose to the Demon Gang. The one who had just spoken appeared to be the leader. He was a large man with a bald head and many scars on his body. Beside him were two well-dressed n. Among these two, Amon had interacted with one, the other he knew by na and look.

The one he knew by na was Yan Ming, soone from the Yan Clan. The other one was Yan Dose. Yan Dose’s eyes were staring at the Demon Gang mbers with hatred. When he saw Amon, that hatred in his eyes multiplied.

"You! You are a demon gang mber?!" Yan Dose shouted. He had harbored a deep hatred against the Demon Gang since it was its mber who killed his beloved sister.

Amon ignored Yan Dose. His eyes were on Yan Ming. He asked, "What is the respectable Yan Clan doing here? Are you interested in participating in the underworld matter?"

Just like Amon ignored Yan Dose, Yan Ming returned in kind. Instead of answering Amon’s question, he turned to Yan Dose and asked, "Do you know him?"

"He is a student in the Royal Academy. He is the reason I got kicked out!" Yan Dose hissed.

"A Royal Academy student?" Uttered the bald man who spoke like the leader of this group. "Are you sure? He seems like the one calling the shot in the group over there."

"Gao Pan...? What are you doing here?"

"Hm?" The bald leader turned when his na was called. "Gao Lan? I’ve always wondered where your pathetic ass has gone to. So, this is where you are hiding."

"Who is he?" Dao Se asked. He was still weak. Gao Lan was holding his body to help him stand.

"He is an asshole who used to be in the Gao Clan. He was disowned from the Gao Clan at the sa ti as I," Gao Lan inford.

"Disowned, haha... That is one unpleasant word," Gao Pan responded. "But screw them. I don’t need the Gao Clan to make it out in the world. If anything, I should thank them. Because I am no longer with the Gao Clan, I can form my own organization. This is my people, the highwayn!"

The crowd that ca with him roared.

"The highwayn have decided to make the Qishurg City our ho. From now on, the districts that used to be ruled by the Street Aristocrats are out of limit to the three of you!"

"Fuck off!" Dao Se scolded. "Don’t think you outsiders can do as you like here!"

"Hehe, is that a challenge?" Gao Pan asked with a savage face.

Yan Ming whispered to him, "Brother Gao, these three organizations don’t seem to suffer as many casualties as we hoped. Maybe we should review the situation first?"

They knew the three underworld organizations were eting tonight to decide superiority through a battle. They planned to wait until the battle was over. They had a mole inside the Sewer Snakes, who sent a signal once the battle was over. They expected the battle to be fierce enough that each side would lose at least two-thirds of their forces.

The battle was indeed fierce, but they didn’t expect Amon to focus on the leaders and stop the battle once the leaders were captured. The Alley Advocates and Sewer Snakes still had half their force, while the Demon Gang only lost around thirty percent of their troops.

The Highwayn brought six hundred people. They had more fighters than any single underworld organization present here. However, if the three local organizations combined their force, they were outnumbered.

"Number is not the only deciding factor," Gao Pan said.

He had been observing the people on the field. Before this operation, he had studied the information regarding Qishurg City’s three major underworld organizations. He could identify Dao Se and Hu Ti. The only one he didn’t know was the Demon Gang’s leader since the mbers always wore demon masks. Hu Ti and Dao Se were wounded. If they wanted to make their moves, now was the best chance.

"Highwayn, chargeee...!!!" Gao Pan roared. The people on the roofs jumped down and charged towards the field.

Yan Dose was about to follow, but Yan Ming stopped him. "We are here only to observe," Yan Ming reminded.

Yan Dose gritted his teeth. He very much wanted to attack Amon.

"Brother, what should we do?" Xin Wuming asked as the highwayn approached.

Amon glanced to the side. He answered, "If they stay and fight, then we fight. Get into formation! Form a defensive line! Do not advance, and do not let the enemies pass the line!"

Amon had trained his mbers in military formation. They quickly rearranged themselves so they were ready to face the incoming enemies. He chose a defensive formation instead of an attacking one so they could retreat if the situation called for it.

The ones closest to the Highwayn were the Sewer Snakes, so they were the first to get into contact.

"Sewer Snakes, drive these outsiders out of this town!" Dao Se exclaid.

The Sewer Snakes mbers roared as they charged back at the incoming enemies. Dao Se himself had eaten a Curative Pill. It was a pill to help recover from general poisoning. The pill was largely ineffective because Amon’s poison was too potent. He still felt very weak.

While the Sewer Snakes showed valor, the Alley Advocates didn’t move. They were positioned behind Sewer Snakes. The mbers turned to Hu Ti, waiting for his order.

Hu Ti was contemplating his options. He was also unwilling to let outsiders invade this city, but he wasn’t rash. He studied his condition. He had eaten a recovery pill, but he had several broken bones. It took ti to recover.

When he saw the Sewer Snakes started clashing with the Highwayn, he said, "Retreat."

"We are not helping them?" One of his people asked. His understanding was that they and the Sewer Snakes were allies.

"No. We retreat," Hu Ti repeated. He then moved away. The other mbers looked at each other before following his lead.

Hu Ti decided to retreat because he rembered Gao Pan’s words. Gao Pan’s claim was for the territory of Street Aristocrats. If that was the case, he had no business in this struggle.

When Amon saw the Alley Advocates retreat, he did so as well. "Retreat!" He gave the order. He didn’t like going up against unknown enemies. There was also a risk the Alley Advocates only feigned retreat to hit their backs while they were fighting.

Their front line was already in contact with the Highwayn when the retreat order was given. But thanks to their defensive formation, they could make a tactical retreat without falling into chaos. The Highwayn chased them a little bit before turning back.

When the Sewer Snakes found themselves alone against the outsiders, it was too late.
