"Eh? The Lancaster Emperor wants to co here? Why?" Damien asked as he felt a bit puzzled.
He was also concerned since this would be the first ti an outsider was coming to their secret location. The two islands were literally the reason all of them were able to stay hidden without the worry of getting caught.
Otherwise, all of them would have been running here and there without any rest.
Elor could sense the doubt in Damien's tone as he asked, "Why? Is it a bad idea?"
Damien slowly shook his head as he said, "It's just that…It's all too sudden. He never ntioned this yesterday."
Elor patted Damien's shoulder, "Don't worry. He said that he wanted to personally et everyone so that he would know whom he would be fighting together with. It seems reasonable, considering he is risking his own empire here. I an, we don't have to worry about him. If he was really an enemy, he would have tried to trap or kill you and the girls yesterday itself. Besides, so of us here have known the Lancaster Emperor for centuries. He is an honorable man and not a man of deception. Surely, you must have felt it too, right?"
Damien sighed, "You are right. Maybe it's just that I am being paranoid, especially with today being my wedding and all."
Damien felt that he was thinking too much about this.
"Haha. You need to relax. Today is your day and my granddaughter's. You two deserve this," Elor continued with a happy smile as he said, "Sigh…I thought a day like this could only happen in my dreams, but here we are…I would be really able to witness my granddaughter getting married to the person she loves. Since she does not have a father anymore, I am a father to her as well. But unlike what a father-in-law would say to his son-in-law before the wedding, I know I don't have to tell you how to love or protect my little girl. It's because you are one of the people I know who would cherish her with your life."
Damien gave a respectful bow as he said, "Of course, senior. She ans everything to . I won't make her sad."
"Good, good," Elor patted Damien's back with a beaming smile, "Let get back before Irene pulls my hair, hehe."
Damien smiled, "I will just go and check on the others."
Damien walked away and decided to check on his won by sensing their presence. However, on the way, he ca across Marvin, who softly smiled upon seeing him, "Damien…there you are."
"Senior, have you been looking for ?" Damien asked as he pointed at himself.
,m "Of course. You are about to marry my granddaughter, and I just had to see you before everything."
Damien awkwardly chuckled as he said, "Ah, senior, you don't have to worry about Lily. I—"
"I know. I simply ca to see you to give you sothing, sothing I had been saving for the one who would marry Lily," Marvin said as he opened his palm towards Damien, who took a curious look at it.
Damien saw that it was a small old tallic box and inside it was a silver ring, "A ring?"
"It may not seem much, but this is an ancestral item that was passed down to Lily's father. It was in his 'Will' that this ring is passed down to the one who marries Lily. This will be the ring she will be given to you at the ti of the wedding. I showed this to you first to see if you would like wearing such an old thing," Marvin said with a light laugh as Damien bowed respectfully before accepting it.
"Senior, this is really too much, but I am grateful you are entrusting with such a precious item. Even if it looks old, there is no doubt about how beautiful it looks. I will surely take good care of it while wearing it,"
Marvin soon left with a big smile on his face while Damien went to the camp where his won were supposedly inside but were stopped by a woman, "I-I am sorry, Sir Damien…but they have asked to make sure that nobody enters the camp while they get ready for the wedding," She said in a very polite and respectful tone while shyly stealing glances at the savior of the Forsaken.
Damien was more than just a celebrity around here. He was like a god to them who saved them all, and thus she had to gather all her ntal strength to not get too nervous and stutter her words.
Still, the more she stood under his presence, the more at ease she felt due to his cool and composed aura. She never thought he would look this charming up close.
"It's alright. Tell them I will be seeing them soon and please pass this box to Lily," Damien instructed as he realized that his won were busy doing their make-up and dressing up to look as pretty as they could for the wedding.
'So things never change,' Damien felt that his heavenly beauties did not really need any make-up, but this was the natural nature of won. No matter how beautiful or pretty they were, they would still want to look even more good for their n.
And this only made him look forward to them coming out while he decided to change into his wedding robes as well, which were carefully picked out by Yuria, who was good at these kinds of things, though she said Reva and Lily finally chose those robes for him as well.
It only took a few seconds for Damien to get ready since he felt his natural charms were enough to make him look neat and good. However, right before he could leave his camp, he saw soone entering with an intimidating expression.
His gaze was intensely on Damien as he asked, "Son-in-law. Did you think you could marry my sweet girl without seeing once before the wedding?"
Damien cleared his throat as he saw the most intimidating father-in-law among them all.
