"Your Majesty…What is the aning of this…" One of the nobles, who seed to be the patriarch of his family, asked with bloodshot eyes while holding the corpse of his son in his hands, who was beyond saving within just monts of the Gale Emperor's ethereal energy flooding his body.
He was the father of Unio Milen, Nulen Milen, and was a staunch supporter of the Gale Empire's imperial family. His Milen family commanded at least 1/8th of the entire imperial army and enjoyed great status and reputation.
But now he lost his favorite son all because the emperor whom he had been loyal to like a dog for his entire life could not even muster enough self-control. Even if he was angry enough to want to kill the hooded man, how could an emperor like him not know restraint and focus his ethereal energy instead of letting it flow unrestrained?
This was not just an accident…but a blatant callousness towards the life of his loyal subjects.
And not only him but even the other nobles who had lost their scions turned their heavy gazes towards the Gale Emperor, who was getting even more pissed off seeing these nobles look at him like this.
He knew he made a serious mistake, but how could the lives of so trifling juniors compare to his reputation that was being cruelly stabbed at by this hooded man?
But the Gale Emperor was not that blinded by his own ego to the point he could not understand the consequences of what he had done. He was sure he might not get their full support as usual, and maybe they might even plot to dethrone him.
Still, he had to keep up appearances and answered in an unemotional voice, "I sympathize with you all for your unfortunate losses. But what happened was not deliberate. I was only trying to bring down this criminal before he makes our empire look weak."
"Pha, what a half-ass apology. He clearly knew he would kill those around him if he let his ethereal energy burst out without restraint. But he still did it. You don't even care about your own subjects. No wonder you even almost got these two beautiful fairies killed by trying to kill . As an emperor, how could you be cold-blooded to your own people? You don't deserve to sit on the throne but a brothel," The hooded man said with a shake of his head.
The noble families of the Gale Empire felt that even if this hooded man was holding the two princesses hostage, whatever he said till now was true, especially what he said just now about their emperor being cold-blooded, and the proof was their own dead scions.
"You shut up!!" The Gale Emperor roared as his voice shook the entire hall. He was close to having his nerves explode from rage, but this ti he was trying his best to suppress it lest he does sothing worse and angers even more nobles.
If it was just one noble family who might give him trouble, he could still subtly put them in line by twisting their hand. But if more than one noble family was against him and with reasonable grounds to do so, then he can't just force them to listen even if he was the strongest individual in his empire.
After all, all these powerful noble families together make up the core strength of his empire and also bring about wealth and prosperity, while the Gale Emperor was soone who made important decisions. So of the noble families also had direct influence over a portion of his imperial army, and thus even an emperor like him couldn't offend them for no reason.
That was why he was finding it quite problematic that these bunch of noble families from his own empire didn't seem to hold the sa regard for him anymore.
Even the nobles from the other empires were giving him a strange look.
Kale Gale again glanced at his brother, Tristen, thinking that if he indeed had a hand in this whole thing, then his brother was a brilliant mastermind that had no equal. This made him feel even more confident about Tristen's promise and seeing the nobles that seed to have lost faith in his father, Kale Gale subtly smiled, thinking that it was probably ti his empire needed a new face on the throne.
He could probably bring these noble families to his side by eting them later and offering his condolences while even showing disapproval at what his father did.
The Gale Emperor never felt so cornered, let alone by so criminal whom he can squash like a bug. But now, he felt as if his hands were tied, and he couldn't even co up with a response to appease these dumb noble families, especially when he was not in the mood for this. He was in the mood to shed blood, especially that hooded man.
"Enough of this! Give back, my girl!"
Suddenly, the pin-drop silence in the hall was broken by an angry shout, and everyone turned around to see that it was surprisingly Godnim who was charging toward the hooded man with killing intent.
"Hmph, fool!" The hooded man scoffed as he put up his palm, and a jet black lightning bolt that gave off a chilling aura shot out of his palm before striking Godnim before anyone could blink their eyes.
*Sssss….*
Nobody had any idea what exactly happened, but the next mont, Godnim was nowhere to be seen!
Instead, only a charred black spot remained on the floor, making everyone gulp, wondering if Godnim was annihilated by only a single attack from the hooded man.
But wait…wasn't that a lightning bolt they just saw? This continent had never seen a lightning cultivator for a long ti till a young prodigy nad Damien popped up, who turned out to be an enemy of the continent.
Then wasn't the hooded man probably…
