Arthur wanted to ask this question for a long ti but was never able to gather enough courage. For so reason, whenever he was before her, he would lose most of his confidence, especially with a question like this in mind that tugged at certain feelings in his heart.
Reva didn't know why Arthur was asking this question and wondered if it was out of genuine curiosity. Still, she answered to not make things seem suspicious, "It's precisely because he is a genius he seeks extra classes to go the extra mile and learn sothing more than the syllabus he is provided with. His thirst for knowledge is quite unquenchable. I can relate to how he feels since I am like that as well when it cos to alchemy."
Seeing how Reva patiently explained to him the reason, Arthur wondered if he was the one who was overthinking things. Still, he had heard rumors about how Reva was favoring Damien, and it just left him unsettled.
He had seen Damien up close and knew that n like him would have quite the charming effect on won without even trying.
But then he rembered that Reva was not an ordinary woman who easily gets moved. So he slightly smiled and said, "I see. He is indeed a different breed. I will see you around then, Reva."
Arthur left but rembering the satisfied smile he saw on Damien, he couldn't help but think that sothing was off.
Reva's heart was beating calmly, but that didn't an she was not nervous about what had just happened. Two people just all of a sudden asked about her and Damien indirectly.
She wondered if she should cancel the extra classes until things cool down, but then that would seem suspicious as well since it might seem like she had sothing to hide, and at the sa ti, she wouldn't get to see him.
Whenever she was away from Damien, she would feel a sense of emptiness she didn't realize there was before. There was also the feeling of walking on eggshells, making her unable to relax, and only in Damien's presence did she feel she could be herself without worrying about anything else.
anwhile. on the way to his villa, Damien visited the Alchemist Society as Alchemist Azrael to pass a ssage to Leon Xeton to ask his help in setting up an appointnt with the crown prince, Arthur Xeton, to help treat his mother and gain an indirect favor from him.
He felt that forming a friendly relationship with the crown prince might also co in handy since it seed that Arthur and the Xeton Emperor were not exactly a loving pair of father and son.
But Damien didn't know whether he should be surprised or not, but Arthur had already responded to his ssage and asked whether Alchemist Azrael could visit the palace today and treat his mother.
Damien felt sorry for this guy and decided to treat his mother now and finish his job. Still, he had to first visit Valentina and ask for her help to give him a vial of her blood to act as the reagent to help him draw up a Blood Array to treat Maria, Arthur's mother's condition.
To create a Blood Array, he would need Valentina's blood to act as the reagent and the 'ink', especially because of the special regenerative and healing properties of her blood. As for the catalysts, he already had so dicinal herbs in his soul space.
Valentina already knew that Damien needed her blood for this since he ntioned it to her the first ti he diagnosed Maria's condition.
Valentina held Damien's hand and dragged him to one of the 'exclusive' cultivation chambers where she was sure nobody else would be able to see what was happening inside since there was a strict rule that those who were inside cultivation chambers should not be disturbed at all.
Damien was a bit surprised by what Valentina was doing and wondered if she was doing this to give him her blood in secret.
But after getting inside the cultivation chamber, Valentina crossed her arms and began to stare at him with squinted eyes, making Damien ask with an awkward smile, "Valentina? Is there sothing on my face?"
She wrinkled her nose and then clutched his shirt as she pulled him closer and began to sniff all over his shirt like a cute wild cat.
Damien gulped since only now he realized why she was acting like this. And as he expected, Valentina lifted her head and looked at him with a stiff gaze, "Why do I sll the scent of so woman I don't recognize on you? This does not belong to Yuria or Lily."
Her ruby red eyes were increasingly focusing on him, and Damien felt as if he was under the gaze of a large terrifying predator.
"It was Reva…" Damien said with a sigh and knew he had to tell Valentina anyway now that things took a sudden developnt today.
Valentina didn't seem like she was surprised to hear it and kept her fists on her hips as she asked, "She wants to beco your mate?"
"Mate? Valentina..what do you…well..." Damien felt it weird to hear Valentina put it like that since it sounded as if he and Reva were like so wild animals but at the sa ti knew Valentina was asking the right question.
"Well, we like each other, and I was planning to tell you tonight after I was done with treating Arthur's mother. Everything happened quickly all of a sudden today, and I didn't expect to get close to Reva like this today," Damien recounted what really happened today, but surprisingly Valentina didn't seem to get upset as he expected. He wondered if it was because she finally accepted that he was soone who already had other…'mates'.
Instead, she said with a strange glint in her eyes as she slightly smiled, "I want to talk to her.. But I guess I can do it when we visit the Forsaken."
