In the shadows, many people had already targeted .
But I still didn't give a damn.
After wandering around all day, practically nobody wanted to co near .
I went into more than ten shops, but only three owners bothered to serve .
"Sigh."
I couldn't stop myself from letting out a soft sigh.
The man with the mustache beside got even more pissed off.
"Don't these idiots have any brains? Can't they think for themselves?" the man with the mustache snapped.
I said with no other choice, "You can't expect them to think too hard, and their fear makes sense anyway."
The man with the mustache waved his hand, "I don't give a crap about that, but this is really screwing up my treasure hunting. It's not every day we get a Hundred Spirits eting."
I kicked the man with the mustache and laughed while scolding him, "Fine, I won't tag along tomorrow. You can go out alone."
"Now you're talking." The man with the mustache grumbled.
After getting back to our place, I sat in a rocking chair, soaking up the sun with my eyes half-closed, looking pretty chill.
"Starting tomorrow, you're on your own, but you gotta share so of whatever treasures you find with ." I said to myself with my eyes still closed.
The man with the mustache glared, "Says who?"
I rolled my eyes, "If you don't like it, I'll still co with you tomorrow, and you won't get squat."
"You... fine." The man with the mustache said, giving up.
"But listen, I'm the one who decides how to split the stuff."
"Works for ." I nodded.
"If you could find so Heavenly Vanilla, that'd be even better."
The man with the mustache muttered, "Heavenly Vanilla, Heavenly Vanilla, where the hell am I supposed to find Heavenly Vanilla…"
...
The next day,
The man with the mustache got up early and left the hotel to hunt for treasures after saying goodbye to .
As for , I was lying in bed, pretty relaxed.
"They say there's Heavenly Vanilla in the Second Secret Realm. Wonder if that's true." I whispered to myself.
I'd thought about sending Saron to the Second Secret Realm to grab so Heavenly Vanilla, but I was always worried about Saron.
"Whatever, I'll look for it first. If I really can't find it, I'll figure sothing out." I thought to myself.
At noon,
The man with the mustache rushed back from outside.
He had a swollen head and ssy hair, looking like total crap.
I suddenly sat up, "What the hell happened?"
The man with the mustache said angrily, "These people are nuts! They think you did it, and they started beating up the second they saw ! If I hadn't run fast, they would've killed !"
My face imdiately turned ugly.
I sat up from the bed and said coldly, "They attacked you?"
"Exactly, if you were there, they would've beaten you instead." The man with the mustache muttered.
My brows furrowed deep.
I'd figured these people might suspect , but never thought they'd actually go after the man with the mustache.
"The shop owners who wouldn't see us yesterday, they all died last night." The man with the mustache said seriously.
"Not just that, one of your hats was left at the scene, and now they've decided it was you who killed them."
I took a deep breath.
Hat? Was he talking about Thousand Faces?
But I'd always kept Thousand Faces in the Spatial Magic Artifact.
"To fra , they really pulled out all the stops." I took a deep breath and said seriously.
The man with the mustache sighed, "These people must've lost it. Let's get out of here."
I didn't say anything. I grabbed my phone and opened the Martial Arts Forum.
I saw the forum was buzzing about this.
"This guy's gotta be Mason Raymond. He's used these moves before!"
"I've got video proof!"
"These techniques are exactly the sa as Mason Raymond's!"
"Look, the hat left at the scene, isn't that the one Mason Raymond used to wear?!"
"No way, how could Mason Raymond do sothing like this? He once fought Iris Darren without caring about his own life!"
"Haha, even dragon-slaying heroes eventually beco dragons. Besides, who knows if he was scared Iris Darren would steal his resources so he struck first?"
Looking at these forum comnts, my face got uglier and uglier.
"I underestimated them." I said seriously.
How things developed had totally blown past what I'd imagined.
Now almost everyone didn't trust , which I hadn't seen coming.
As I was deep in thought, sudden noise ca from outside.
I peeked through the window and saw the place was packed with people.
They weren't making a scene, but their intentions were crystal clear.
My eyes narrowed, and I muttered, "They actually ca to my door?"
"See, I told you, these people just don't know good when they see it!" The man with the mustache muttered.
I stayed quiet for a mont before saying, "Wait here for . I'll go downstairs and check it out."
The man with the mustache mumbled, "What're you going down for? These people won't listen to anything you say."
I sighed, "I can't just hide up here without saying a word. Besides, I act straight and honest. I'm not scared of them."
After that, I turned around and went downstairs.
The people downstairs were whispering quietly. When they saw , they all held their breath and went dead silent.
I looked at these people, trying to stay as polite as possible, and said, "I don't know what you want from ?"
Everyone looked at each other, and after a mont, soone suddenly yelled, "Mason Raymond, so many people are dead, don't you think you owe us an explanation!"
"That's right! The way these people were killed is exactly like your style. Was it you who did it?!"
"We might not have much power, but we deserve to know the truth!"
I looked at the crowd and said seriously, "I didn't kill those people."
"You didn't kill them? Then who did? There's evidence of you at the scene!"
"The killing thod is exactly like yours, and you say you didn't do it?"
"Stop acting like the good guy!"
Listening to what the crowd was saying, I felt anger rising in my chest.
"Like I said, I did NOT kill them!" I said coldly.
"Of course you won't admit it! Who would admit to murder!"
"Soone said they saw you at the murder scene!"
"If you're a real man, step up and take responsibility!"
I narrowed my eyes, speaking coldly, "If I wanted to kill them, why would I wait until midnight! Do you think any of you could handle !"
A loud shout, like thunder, made everyone's ears ring.
They unconsciously stepped back, fear flashing across their faces.
