I shut my eyes, sensing my divine sense diving deep into my own mind.

In monts, Saron's form materialized in my thoughts.

The small golden figure in my mind slowly rose to its feet.

I stared at Saron before and declared, "Fine, starting today, you're temporarily mine."

Saron arched his eyebrows and scoffed, "Mine? Kid, aren't you getting ahead of yourself?"

I scowled and demanded, "What's that supposed to an?"

"What's that supposed to an? Ha!" Saron erupted in laughter.

"You think you can control my divine sense! I've seen more action than you've had hot dinners!"

"A asly Half-step Martial Sage trying to act tough with - you're way out of your league!"

My expression shifted, and I blurted out, "But I've got the silver hoop charm!"

"Silver hoop charm? What garbage is that?" Saron mocked.

He flexed his body, and the silver hoop charm crumbled to pieces!

"You seriously thought that junk could control ? Dream on!" Saron bellowed.

"Your body's mine now, and I'm gonna eat up your divine sense!"

With those words, Saron's divine sense charged straight at !

My face went white!

No ti to hesitate - I braced myself, throwing up my golden palm to block Saron's assault!

But Saron's divine sense packed too much punch, and the second it hit my divine sense, I got blasted backward!

"That's all you've got, and you wanna ss with !" Saron scread like a maniac.

"Call Saron? Screw your grandpa!"

My face looked terrible.

I never thought the silver hoop charm would be completely useless against Saron!

"Can't believe you played ..." I muttered, feeling hopeless.

Saron stepped closer to , sneering as he said, "Don't sweat it, I'll take care of whatever you left unfinished."

He lifted his palm and brought it down toward my divine sense!

Right as his divine sense was about to hit , a blazing light shot out from nowhere!

The beam punched straight through Saron's palm!

Heavy smoke poured from Saron's hand.

Saron jerked back in pain, yelling, "Who's there!"

A figure slowly erged in my divine sense.

This figure stood impossibly tall, and the commanding way he looked down on everyone made your blood run cold!

"You... you're the Guardian?" Saron seed to know who stood before him!

"Father... Father!" I recognized the figure too and shouted imdiately!

My father stared coldly at Saron, and his overwhelming presence made Saron shake.

Both sides faced off in dead silence, nobody saying a word.

"Wiping out your divine sense only takes a flick of my wrist."

Finally, my father spoke.

His commanding voice seed to carry incredible force, making Saron writhe in agony!

Saron clutched his head and stamred, "I... I get it, please don't kill . I swear I won't try anything funny again."

But my father ignored him and just said coldly, "You've murdered countless people and should've been turned to dust long ago. Today, I'm giving you one shot at redemption."

"Yes, yes... I'll definitely turn over a new leaf..." Saron babbled.

"Father!" I rushed to my father's side, asking desperately, "Father, where... where have you been?"

This towering figure finally looked at .

In his cold features, a hint of hidden warmth and joy flickered.

"When you're strong enough, you'll find naturally." He said slowly.

I blurted out, "Father, I've got so many questions for you. Can... can you stick around a bit longer?"

My father said slowly, "Many things you need to figure out and think through on your own. Keep going."

After saying this, his figure started to fade away.

No matter how much I yelled, I couldn't make him stay.

Soon, he vanished completely.

My hand stayed frozen where I'd reached out. My face showed pure shock and amazent.

Not far off, Saron got up from the ground.

He rubbed his head and couldn't help saying, "You've got such a badass father - why didn't you ntion that sooner!"

I glared icily at Saron, took a deep breath, and said, "I let you out, and you tried to devour my divine sense!"

Saron grinned and said, "Hey now, that's harsh - it was all a big misunderstanding... don't worry, won't happen again!"

I snorted coldly and said nothing, ignoring Saron completely.

I slowly opened my eyes, but my emotions took forever to settle down.

"Saron, let ask you sothing." Right then, I suddenly spoke up.

"Don't you dare call Saron!" A voice echoed from Saron's mind.

I ignored him and kept asking, "What exactly is the Guardian? Do you know my father?"

Saron frowned and said, "You're asking about your own old man?"

"I haven't even t my father yet." I couldn't help but swear.

Saron scratched his nose and mumbled, "Word is every Guardian has to ditch their wife and kids. Looks like it's true..."

"Ditch their wife and kids? What do you an?" I asked urgently.

"Bottom line, Guardians can't have personal attachnts, or they'll get hit with Heavenly Punishnt. That's the gist of it." Saron muttered.

I opened my mouth and said sadly, "Why does it have to be like that?"

"Why? Use your damn brain - if personal feelings get in the way, decisions won't be fair, and then you don't deserve to be a Guardian." Saron grumbled.

My face changed and I quickly asked, "So what happens if there are personal feelings?"

"Didn't I just say? They get Heavenly Punishnt." Saron muttered.

My face went pale!

Even though I'd never t my father, he'd left an inheritance and helped out tons of tis!

Wouldn't that count as personal feelings?

"Is... is there any way to dodge Heavenly Punishnt?" I pressed on.

Saron sneered, "Hell no. Everyone's stuck in the dao technique, everyone follows the dao technique's rules. How could you possibly dodge it?"

After saying that, Saron paused for a beat and then smirked, "Unless you can smash through this rule or break it completely - but that's totally impossible."
