With this thought in mind, I looked at Amber Skye, planning to ask if she could bring to et this old immortal.
Before I could speak, though, Amber whispered, "Too bad this old immortal is really awful, using his powers to bully us every day."
"Oh?" I raised an eyebrow.
Sothing suddenly occurred to , and I glanced at the herbs in the basket.
"Are these herbs also ant for that old immortal?" I asked.
Amber looked startled and said, "How did you figure that out?"
I waved my hand without giving her an answer.
It looked like this so-called old immortal wasn't all that strong.
If he were, these herbs wouldn't do much to help him.
"I'll co with you to bring the herbs tonight," I said.
Amber's smile grew wider, and she nodded eagerly, "Okay!"
Then I went with Amber to keep collecting herbs.
When evening ca, we both headed back.
Amber seed extra cheerful, talking constantly as we walked.
I, however, stayed pretty quiet, just nodding here and there.
We returned to our place, and I ate dinner with Amber like always.
The village food was consistently great, and everyone had their roles.
So picked vegetables, others went hunting.
After we ate, they sang and danced as usual. This ti, I didn't hurry off and stuck around to enjoy myself.
When the fun ended, everyone needed to catch their breath.
"Little Queen, has the old immortal been giving you trouble lately?" Right then, an old man from the village ca up to Amber.
Amber said quietly, "He...hasn't been bothering ."
"Really?" The old man's brow creased, looking doubtful.
When Amber stayed silent, the old man sighed, "I'll have another word with him tomorrow."
"Okay!" Amber nodded and said, "Uncle Jacinto, we'll head back now."
After saying goodbye to Uncle Jacinto, I walked back to our place with Amber.
Once we got there, Amber bundled up the herbs like always, getting ready to take them to the old immortal.
It was ten at night when Amber finally finished packing.
"Are you really sure you want to co along?" Amber asked carefully.
I smiled and said, "Absolutely, I gave you my word. Let's go."
"Yes, yes!" Amber nodded with excitent.
We both left the house and walked toward where the old immortal lived.
On our way there, I spread my divine sense around the area, looking for the old immortal.
After so ti, I finally located him.
"A Grandmaster?" I couldn't help raising my eyebrow.
While this level ant nothing to , it really was top-tier among regular people.
"It's just up ahead." Amber pointed toward a house nearby and said.
She said worriedly, "Whatever happens next, you...you can't say anything, okay?"
"Fine." I agreed without much thought.
Amber made a small sound, took a deep breath, then walked toward the old immortal's place.
I followed her inside.
The mont we entered, I saw a bald old man.
This old guy sat with his legs crossed on the bed, hands pressed together like he was ditating.
"Old immortal, I brought the herbs," Amber said quietly as she set the herbs beside him.
When he heard Amber's voice, the old immortal opened his eyes.
"Who's this guy?" The old immortal looked straight at .
"He...he's my friend." Amber explained.
The old immortal made a soft snorting sound and said, "Fine, co here and rub my back."
Amber's face tensed a bit, and she glanced at instinctively, looking uncomfortable.
"What are you waiting for!" Right then, the old immortal suddenly yelled, striking Amber's face with a slap from where he sat!
Amber, hurt, held her face and started walking toward the old immortal.
But right then, I grabbed Amber's arm.
Amber looked surprised, staring at with confusion.
I didn't look at her. Instead, I stared coldly at the old immortal and said, "You old bald fraud, you're pretty good at faking being divine and pulling tricks, calling yourself an old immortal. I think you're just an old bastard."
When he heard this, the old immortal beca furious!
He glared at coldly and said, "Showing disrespect to ans showing disrespect to heaven. I have to punish you for heaven's sake!"
With that, the old immortal, staying in character, threw a slap toward !
But the energy he sent out didn't even get close to before it disappeared completely.
"When there are no tigers on the mountain, monkeys beco king. You're just a Grandmaster, but you dare to show off, bullying innocent people," I said coldly.
The old immortal's expression shifted slightly, and he narrowed his eyes, saying, "You actually understand Grandmasters? Looks like we're both cultivators. My friend, I suggest you stay out of this."
"Mason, you...don't make him angry, it'll bring problems..." Amber whispered.
I sneered, "Problems? To , he's nothing but a dog or a piece of trash."
The old immortal felt very insulted and said, "My friend, watch what you say. I'm showing you respect as a fellow cultivator, but don't push your luck."
I ignored what he said and replied coolly, "You must have gotten hold of so treasure, right? Give it to , and I might think about letting you die painlessly."
A flash of fear showed on the old immortal's face before it quickly turned icy.
He slowly stood up from the bed and sneered, "Since you know this much, I can't let you walk out of here alive."
"Kid, let demonstrate a Grandmaster's strength today!"
With his shout, the energy around the old immortal started climbing fast!
Then he made fists and packed his Inner Strength into them, throwing them down at violently!
"Mason, watch out!" Seeing this, Amber panicked.
She instinctively rushed in front of , trying to block the punch with her body.
