## Liam's Perspective

"Stop." My voice cut through the room like a blade.

Phoebe froze mid-motion, her fingers still on the buttons of her blouse. Surprise flashed across her face, quickly replaced by confusion.

"You don't find attractive?" she asked, a hint of wounded pride in her voice.

I turned away from her, walking to the window to look out at Iceheart Lake. The water had almost completely returned, its surface unnaturally still in the moonlight.

"Your beauty isn't in question," I said flatly. "But I belong to soone else."

"Isabelle Ashworth." Phoebe's voice softened as she picked up her skirt. "The rumors are true, then. Your devotion to her is absolute."

I didn't respond. Isabelle's face filled my mind – her smile, her strength, her suffering at the hands of the Ascendant Saints Order. Every breath I took without her was rely preparation for our reunion.

"Forgive my boldness," Phoebe said, clothing herself again. "I've learned that n of power usually expect certain... comforts."

I turned back to face her. "I'm not most n."

"No," she agreed with a small smile. "You certainly are not."

The moonlight streaming through the window cast half her face in shadow. For a mont, I saw sothing calculating in her eyes – not embarrassnt or rejection, but assessnt. She was recalibrating her approach.

"Since you've declined my personal gratitude," she said, walking to a cabinet in the corner, "perhaps I can offer sothing else of value."

She withdrew a jade box and placed it on the table between us.

"What's that?" I asked, keeping my distance.

"Information." Phoebe opened the box, revealing ancient scrolls. "About Iceheart Lake and its true power."

My interest piqued. "Tell ."

She smiled, sensing she'd found leverage. "This lake isn't ordinary. My ancestors discovered its secret five hundred years ago and built Beaufort Tower to guard it."

I moved closer, examining the yellowed parchnt. Intricate diagrams covered the surface, showing the lake and underground caverns beneath.

"The water appears normal," Phoebe continued, "but at its deepest point lies a convergence of yin energy unlike anywhere else in the realm. My ancestors called it the Iceheart Core."

"A natural formation?" I asked, studying the diagrams more carefully.

She shook her head. "No. It was created by the Frozen Heart Sect, an ancient power that once rivaled the greatest sects. They used this place to cultivate their unique ice arts."

The implications hit imdiately. A cultivation resource of this magnitude would be invaluable. No wonder the Ascendant Saints Order wanted to claim this territory.

"What happened to the Frozen Heart Sect?" I asked.

"Destroyed in the Great Sect War," Phoebe replied. "My ancestors were disciples who survived. They protected this place, passing down fragnts of knowledge through generations."

I tapped the diagram. "And you know how to access this power?"

Her eyes glead. "I do. It's my birthright."

In that mont, I saw an opportunity. With access to the Iceheart Core, I could potentially accelerate my cultivation exponentially. The path to Martial Marquis – and the power to save Isabelle – suddenly seed closer.

"Why tell this?" I asked, watching her carefully.

Phoebe's fingers traced the edge of the scroll. "Because I'm practical. The Ascendant Saints Order won't stop coming. Today it was Bodhi Gordon. Tomorrow it will be soone stronger."

"And you think I can protect you."

"I think we can help each other," she countered. "You need a base of operations in your fight against the Order. We need protection. And the Iceheart Core... it could benefit us both."

The offer was tempting. Too tempting to ignore. But I hadn't survived this long by trusting easily.

"What exactly are you proposing?" I asked.

Phoebe took a deep breath. "Join Beaufort Tower. Beco our Vice Patriarch."

I almost laughed. "You're asking to subordinate myself to your sect?"

"A partnership," she clarified quickly. "Your na alone would attract powerful disciples. Your skill in alchemy is legendary. Together, we could rebuild what was once a mighty sect."

The pieces fell into place in my mind. With a powerful sect behind , I'd have resources, intelligence, and manpower in my war against the Ascendant Saints Order. And the Iceheart Core could be the key to reaching the Martial Marquis realm.

It was a good offer. Perhaps too good.

"And in return?" I pressed.

"Protection from our enemies," she said. "And access to the Iceheart Core, under my guidance."

I walked back to the window, weighing my options. The lake's surface reflected the moon perfectly – so still it looked like glass. Beneath that tranquil surface lay power I desperately needed.

"The Ascendant Saints Order grows stronger every day," I said, almost to myself. "They're using Isabelle's blood to create monstrosities. Ti isn't on my side."

Phoebe moved to stand beside . "Then let help you. Our interests align perfectly."

I made my decision. It was pragmatic, perhaps even a bit despicable, but necessary. Isabelle's life hung in the balance.

"I have conditions," I stated firmly.

"Na them."

"First, I won't be Vice Patriarch. We'll rena and rebuild this sect together – equal partners."

Her eyes widened slightly, but she nodded. "Acceptable."

"Second, I'll bring in my own people. Allies I trust."

"Of course," she agreed. "Your reputation will attract talent we desperately need."

"Third, while I'll help strengthen this sect, my primary goal remains rescuing Isabelle. That takes precedence over everything." This chapter was uploaded by the team at *.

Phoebe hesitated only briefly. "Understood."

I extended my hand. "Then we have a deal."

She clasped it firmly. "We do. What shall we call our new sect?"

I thought for a mont, rembering the jade pendant that had changed my life. "Jade Moon Villa."

"Jade Moon Villa," she repeated, testing the na. "It has power. A new beginning."

"A new beginning," I echoed, "and a direct challenge to the Ascendant Saints Order."

---

The next morning, the sect forrly known as Beaufort Tower transford. I'd spent half the night designing a formation to protect the compound, anchoring it to the four corners with talismans of my own creation.

Phoebe gathered all disciples in the main courtyard. Nearly three hundred cultivators knelt before us, a mix of Grandmasters, Masters, and Disciples – the remnants of a once-powerful sect.

"From this day forward," Phoebe announced, "we are Jade Moon Villa. Master Liam Knight joins us as co-founder and Patriarch."

Murmurs spread through the crowd. My reputation preceded .

I stepped forward. "Those who join Jade Moon Villa must understand – we stand against the Ascendant Saints Order. This won't be an easy path. Many of you will die. Those unwilling to face this reality should leave now."

No one moved. Their faces showed determination, even excitent. A famous alchemist and fighter joining their sect was like a gift from heaven.

"Good," I continued. "Today we begin recruitnt. I want our numbers tripled within a month."

After dismissing the assembly, I sent a ssage to The Warrior's Scroll – the most widely read cultivation news source in the realm. The announcent was blunt:

"Jade Moon Villa established at Iceheart Lake under the leadership of Liam Knight and Phoebe Reeves. All cultivators seeking justice against the tyranny of the Ascendant Saints Order are welco to join. The ti to stand against oppression is now."

It was a declaration of war – bold, perhaps foolish, but necessary. I needed to draw attention, to build our forces quickly.

"Was that wise?" Phoebe asked as we watched the ssenger bird fly away. "You've just painted a target on our backs."

"Sotis the best defense is a strong offense," I replied. "Besides, they already know I'm here after yesterday."

She nodded slowly. "What's our next move?"

"I'll begin working on pills to strengthen our core disciples," I said. "anwhile, show how to access the Iceheart Core."

Phoebe's expression grew serious. "That requires preparation. The energy there is volatile. Without proper protection, it could freeze your ridians solid."

"I don't have ti for lengthy preparations," I insisted.

"Three days," she countered. "Three days to prepare the necessary protections. Otherwise, you risk permanent damage."

I reluctantly agreed. Three days wasn't too long to wait for such power.

In a lavish chamber hundreds of miles away, Josiah Hale, Supre Leader of the Ascendant Saints Order, read The Warrior's Scroll with growing fury. His long silver hair frad a face that appeared young despite his centuries of age.

"Liam Knight," he hissed, crushing the paper in his fist. "First you slaughter my disciples, and now this open defiance?"

A servant knelt trembling before him. "Master Hale, we've also received reports that Bodhi Gordon's team has been wiped out at Iceheart Lake."

Josiah's eyes flashed with dangerous light. "Prepare my transport. I'm going to pay a visit to this... Jade Moon Villa."

"But Master, the extraction from the Ashworth girl is scheduled for—"

"Postpone it!" Josiah snapped. "Liam Knight has beco too botherso to ignore. I'll handle this personally."

As the servant scurried away, Josiah looked out his window toward the distant mountains where Iceheart Lake lay hidden.

"Liam Knight, you really have a lot of guts," he muttered. "I was worried that I couldn't find you... but now you've revealed yourself."

He stood, his robes swirling with energy as he prepared for travel. The hunt had begun.
