Ji Xizhi sat without any awkwardness among the grannies, holding a phone in her hand, a small notebook on her knee, pen in hand, recording with the sound of the shaking fans accompanying her.

It’s not that she didn’t notice the grannies’ mutterings; they weren’t too adept at using WeChat, so of them used voice ssages to call people, and Ji Xizhi understood every word clearly.

Not only did she rember them clearly, she also took the ti to jot them down in a little notebook. This is the most common type of story in the village; grannies are the most genuine people here.

Several grannies finished calling people and then craned their necks to squeeze in next to Ji Xizhi, hoping to gather more firsthand information.

Granny Zheng, who was fanning beside Ji Xizhi, glared with wide eyes, stopping them from speaking up.

"Don’t ask all sorts of questions. Children and grandchildren have their own fortunes. Can’t you see she’s busy? Everything happens for a reason!"

While Granny Zheng spoke, she looked up, seeing a beam of sunlight filtering through the tree leaves and landing on Ji Xizhi’s fair neck.

Ji Xizhi didn’t wear a hat today, so Granny Zheng took off her own neck-covering hat and gave it to Ji Xizhi.

Ji Xizhi: "Granny, I don’t need to wear it..."

She paused in her recording, just about to take the hat off her head, but was t with another glare from Granny Zheng.

"Are you disliking my hat for being unfashionable?"

Ji Xizhi: "..."

She glanced sideways at the brim of the hat, embroidered with vivid red flowers with dense stitching, where elegance t tackiness.

Ji Xizhi paused for a mont, shook her head, "I don’t dislike it." It’s her who doesn’t understand fashion.

Granny Zheng laughed: "I knew it, you have a good eye! Not like my granddaughter, who insists that the clothes missing a strip of fabric around the waist are fashionable!"

"Back in the day, everyone asked to embroider a flower on their clothes, hats, and shoes!"

Granny Zheng boasted.

Ji Xizhi nodded in agreent.

Only the audience watching Ji Xizhi’s livestream laughed heartily.

[Speaking of fashion, it has to be the grannies! Look at this flower, it’s beautiful, just like the one that blooms every morning in my family’s group chat!]

[Missing a strip of fabric, I figured, is Granny talking about crop tops? Hahaha~]

[I’m the granddaughter; that’s my grandma. For my crop top, grandma made a wide belt, a red stretchy one, to keep my belly warm...]

[After ripped jeans ca the wide belt against the cold—grandma’s creations must be premium! Laughing so much here~]

[With this hat, Ji Xizhi already looks more like a granny than the grannies...]

Just as Ji Xizhi and Granny Zheng were talking, two people suddenly arrived at the grannies’ booth.

"Grannies, we’re from the ’Love Begins Here’ crew. We’re filming nearby and need a few extras. One hundred for each person. You just need to sit over there. Is that okay?"

The sea area near Xianyu Village was only recently developed but had stunning scenery, so filming there wasn’t financially demanding. That’s why Director Wang decided to set the third episode of ’Life Experience’ here. It’s normal for other directors to choose this area for scenes too.

Ji Xizhi wasn’t surprised; she just glanced up before returning to her notes.

When Granny Zheng and the group heard about money from the crew, they imdiately gathered around.

Hundred bucks, any fool wouldn’t take the money.

The crew hardly needed to persuade; the group of grannies lounging under the tree was quickly won over.

Once persuaded, one of the crew mbers glanced at Ji Xizhi, who hadn’t moved and was still playing with her phone under the tree, as well as her unique hat.

The assistant director of the crew: "Granny, can the one under the tree co too? All she needs to do is sit, and she can get one hundred bucks!"

Several grannies nodded continuously: "Co on! She can co!"

Reading under the tree, reading with the crew, it’s all the sa.

Without thinking, the grannies agreed on behalf of Ji Xizhi.

After the crew’s assistant director discussed the location with the grannies, they returned to pull Ji Xizhi along.

Ji Xizhi had heard the crew’s invite for the grannies to be extras earlier, thinking she could watch the stall for them; she didn’t expect the grannies would discuss with the assistant director and co back to pull her along too.

Grannies: "One hundred bucks! We’d be losers not to earn it!"

"Exactly, no need to watch the stall; my old man is listening to the radio nearby. I can call him over!"

Even Granny Zheng was convinced and joined in persuading: "They said you can read at their crew; we’ll just sit and watch!"

Sitting and watching!

Granny Zheng’s sentence perfectly coincided with the aning of the sentence Ji Xizhi was reading in her book.

"Of course, if you want to truly experience the lens, relying solely on the written words in books is not enough!"

Director, scriptwriter, photographer, art director... all those she needed to understand.

And right before her was an actual film crew!

Ji Xizhi had an epiphany; being an extra was a must!
