{Tech Wiz: Year One | 4th of July 2022 | Act 1 | Scene 6 | Take 2}

As Nathan opened the door to his ho, he called out to his Gramps.

"Gramps. I'm ho."

Casually tossing his ssenger bag asides onto the living room couch, Nathan rounded a corner and found himself in the kitchen, a note on the fridge;

Will be working late. In case you decided college's not for you, help yourself to so takeout. Add it to my tab.

A musical cue was triggered, its lody, soft and emotive.

Donning a light smile, Nathan walked out of the kitchen, tucking the note into his jacket pocket as he turned around the corner.

"Sir. Pouncealot?" he called out this ti.

Not getting any response from the cat after a brief while, Nathan assud with a thoughtful mutter;

"Probably off gallivanting through the neighborhood…"

Then he angled his gaze towards the door to his late mum's room.

An old mory flashed over his vision.

The sa vision he had earlier in the day.

A mory of his mum, after hurriedly packing her luggage, walking over to a five-year old him and saying;

Genius isn't just about what you can build, Nathan–– it's about what you choose to do with the things you build. The right hands can build a better world, sweetie, but the wrong hands, can absolutely decimate it. Always be the hands that build…

"…even if that ans you have to make an enemy out of everyone else." Nathan audibly completed her words.

Those words had always stuck with him. It was also the reason why he'd always believed there was more to her death. His expression reflected this.

Staring at the door for a few seconds with a plethora of complex emotion in his eyes, one emotion in particular stood out this ti.

Pain.

Ruffling his dark-brown hair in a mild fit of frustration aid at himself, the young man soon willed himself with a determined mutter;

"Push through it, Nate."

Taking a deep breath, Nathan, took one step in the door's direction.

Then two.

Three. Four. Five. Six.

Each step was heavier than the last but, it soon brought him face to face to the white-painted door.

Slowly placing his hand atop the door's handle, Nathan pulled it down, the door clicking open.

And, with the heaviest step of all, the young man placed a foot first into the well-kept room, courtesy of his Gramps who tidied it every weekend since the day his only daughter had died.

Sweeping his gaze around, Nathan's gaze lingered around for a few seconds more, after which he then fully stepped into the room as he gently closed the door behind him.

Nothing seed out of the ordinary here.

Just a nice, little room, with all the modern bedroom furniture, neatly occupying the space.

Yet, with slow, asured steps, Nathan made his way across the room, heading over to the desk situated near the dresser.

Pulling out all the drawers, the young man found nothing, all of it spick and span.

Then he proceeded to check every nook and cranny of the room.

Under the bed.

Behind the shoe rack.

Amidst the bookshelves.

Several other places.

Nothing.

Nathan found nothing.

And so, plopping onto the bed, the young man laid there aimlessly, his gaze locked to the ceiling.

However, about ten seconds later, he soon caught the sound of sothing, scurrying through the roof with a light ow.

Pretty much expecting to hear a thud from the other end of the room's corridor as his buddy landed through the hole in the ceiling, Nathan jolted upwards in shock when he noticed a strange phenonon!

Cue a slow, mysterious, haunting score.

A small portion of the ceiling was drooping downwards, slowly yet eerily as it contorted amorphously.

"What the––?!!"

But before Nathan could tentatively, dart out of the room in trepidation, Sir. Pouncealot, practically fell through it and onto the bed.

Casually stretching as if this was a regular occurrence to it, the feline, upon noticing Nathan, instantly began to ow in demand for food.

Yet, a stunned Nathan, could now only stare in a mix of frightened curiosity.

First at his owing cat, then back at the ceiling as multiple beads of sweat, rapidly ford on his features and pooled towards his chin.

Still, the slightest hint of curiosity, persisted, reflected in his blue irises.

Ignoring Sir. Pouncealot's demands for food, Nathan soon tentatively climbed atop the orthopedic bed, his weight held firmly.

Then, with an audible, rapidly beating heart that practically scread at him that this was an extrely bad idea, Nathan, reached for the unnatural portion of the ceiling.

Upon touching it however, the ceiling remained solid, causing his loud heartbeats to slowly subside.

By this ti, a disappointed Sir. Pouncealot had already scurried out of the room in search of sothing to eat while constantly letting out, long, drawn-out ows.

But for the next few seconds, Nathan kept examining the ceiling with his fingers, nothing out of the ordinary happening.

This caused him to tilt his head in confusion as he remarked quietly;

"But I definite––"

He wasn't chanced to complete that sentence when the amorphous ceiling, suddenly grasped onto his arm, refusing to let go!

The 'thing', looked like tiny bits of flexible tal, glued together as it pooled ever closer towards him!

And before Nathan could let out a bloodcurdlingly horrified scream while trying to yank his hands out, the formless phenonon, suddenly surged forward and burrowed into the very pores of his hands, his eyes, mouth and ear!

What followed next was even more terrifying as Nathan's body, suddenly began to spasm and wriggle unnaturally, his mouth foaming as various lines of circuitry, began to form on his very skin, his eyes lighting up in a burst of neon-blue lights!

And then, after what seed to be a minute, one that felt like hours of complete torture to Nathan, the young man, collapsed, almost lifelessly, onto the bed.

"Tailslate and… Cut!"

Xavier was beyond stunned with Kyle's acting, and so were the film crew on ground, all of whom had extrely impressed gazes on their features.

Sure they knew he was a fantastic actor but, this mont for them, solidified just why he was lauded to be one of the best actors of his generation.

The rumors, weren't exaggerated one bit.

As the Director peered through the caras though, ensuring the shot ca out exactly as it should, he then gestured with an ecstatic grin while giving Kyle a thumbs up;

"That was phenonal, Kyle! A-plus!"

Yet, just like every other filming mber on crew, Xavier watched in confusion when Kyle, refused to get off the bed.

Moving over to shake him awake, Xavier, spoke again while gently tapping him;

"Um Kyle, the scene is over. You can stop acting now."

But after a few seconds of doing the sa thing over and over again without fail, Xavier's eyes soon widened in realization alongside so of the other crew mbers on set whom had tried to wake the young star up!

"Call an ambulance! Now!!" the Director practically scread, his voice full of panic!

#YourOdyssey was trending at No. 1 on TweetTalk.

Having released both the song and the music video earlier in the day, it was all the social dia platform could talk about.

And it wasn't only TweetTalk that was buzzing about it. Several other social dia platforms such as TicToc and diagram were also in the loop.

This was because, asides from the song itself being an absolutely euphoric experience to listen to, especially with so much hype leading up to its release due to its promotion during the tour that was in its very sa na, the music video, also reflected Kyle's statents on how he'd written the song for his fans.

Why?

Because [Your Odyssey]'s music video was made in a perfect montage of all of Kyle's fans across his various tours, jamming to the song during his concerts!

That, unequivocally, had everyone in such high-spirits and even Kyle's fan group was the sa.

As more and more comnts continued pouring into the active group, soone unexpected, a quiet mber of the group in fact, posted a link to a certain article with the caption;

Wiz Lord: [sdailyburglar/Kyle-Kestis-collapsed-on-the-set-of-tech-wiz-year-one-and-was-rushed-to-the-Bellevue-hospital]. Soone tell this isn't true…

-

At first the group went silent in an effort to verify if the news was one of the typical, click-baity articles that several dia publications posted on a regular to draw in readers due to Kyle's explosive fa.

However, a few minutes later, after so thorough digging, the news, which every mber on the group did in fact confirm to be true, spread like a raging blaze of wildfire across all social dia platforms, throwing TweetTalk and Kyle's fan group especially, into a cacophony of chaos.
