Kaizen fully trusted Arthas to stop Thenomor or at least slow him down. He rushed up the steps to get to Niah as fast as he could, but since the forr queen was surrounded by New Royal Guard soldiers, most of those who were too close to her could not run in ti from the expansion of the reddish bubble.
That being the case, there was a wall of soldiers that were being controlled by the forr queen in his way.
Kaizen knew that he didn't necessarily have to get as close to Niah as a normal person would need to get the necklace. Just a few feet would be enough to reach with .
When Kaizen got close enough to the queen, he dropped the Eye of Storm on the ground and prepared to snatch the necklace from her using his right hand. Suddenly, he felt a tightness in his throat as he used , and those uncertain-looking black tentacles coming out of her necklace began to react even more violently.
Correlated to those tentacles or not, Niah's scream of agony beca much louder as well.
"AAAAAAHHHH!"
Kaizen insisted and took a step forward, thinking that he might not have been able to catch the necklace because of the range of the ability. That only made everything worse. The black tentacles ca in front of Niah, protecting her from the Psyker, and the soldiers nearby didn't have to be touched this ti to notice his presence.
"Tsk!" Kaizen took a step back unconsciously, but rethought that move at the sa instant. "Why am I backing away? Fuck the plans. If I can't catch this from afar, I'm going to rip it off her neck if only by force."
So Kaizen stood up, ignoring the fact that with every step he took the black rays beca more intense, and advanced toward the forr queen. However, there were at least ten soldiers being controlled by Niah in the middle of the path to hinder him. The red hue coming out of the visors of the soldiers' helts practically served as an announcent of the anger that was imbued in them.
"Grrr... Kaizen must die."
"I will rip his heart out with my hand."
"Queen Niah's orders are irrecusable. Kaizen must die."
"He is a threat to national security..."
There were at least ten soldiers, all heavily equipped, but Psyker was confident in his abilities and eting a small challenge like that was nothing to soone who a few minutes ago was surrounded by many more soldiers than that. So Kaizen ducked down, picked up the Eye of Storm Sword once more, and stepped forward with a smile on his lips, ready to face these soldiers.
As he ran, Kaizen rembered that he no longer had both hands as before. He needed to take a healing potion to regain his lost limb or visit a healing mage. Despite this, his range of abilities was not so impaired, after all he still had a blade and all his other abilities.
When he saw that the soldiers were also running towards him simultaneously, he held his sword with his right hand until the tip of the blade was above his left shoulder and then slashed the air with his sword using to launch the air forward. He wasn't even sure if this would work, but this in practice wasn't much different from improvising a barrier with this sa skill, so it worked. The slash in the air made in the sword was thrown forward.
A shockwave was produced in mid-air, only the soldiers hadn't lost their natural abilities and reflexes just because they were being controlled, they all managed to brake for an instant before they were hit by this.
'Shit. Did I make it too obvious what I would do?' thought the Psyker.
Kaizen wasted no ti and took advantage of this brief mont to move forward and cut down the soldiers who had to stop, who were precisely the ones in the center of the wide attack formation.
His blows were quick and accurate, and he managed to knock out two soldiers with ease before they had ti to react.
"Die, Kaizen!" Another guard shouted and brandished his axe against the player's back.
It took Psyker a little longer than usual to notice this move, because his perception, an intrinsic attribute in Intelligence, was impaired. However, he still had enough ti to dodge the attack.
Kaizen ducked and turned to the side, managing to avoid the blow, but even so the soldier's sword struck his armor, tearing a bit of the back of it.
Even with the damage, the player didn't care much and stood up, preparing to launch another shockwave. But this ti, as he stood up, Kaizen used his fire ability to try to propel himself forward.
[Activating the Skill .]
Flas appeared around the Psyker and quickly enveloped his legs. A circle of light appeared at that mont and grew larger and larger as the seconds passed.
Not coincidentally, in the na of this ability there was a word reminiscent of freedom, for Kaizen's intention was to use fire exactly on his legs in an attempt to mimic the form of the Taznaar, which makes him so much faster and stronger.
The fire danced around Kaizen's leg, giving a feeling of montum with each upward movent, as if it was really stimulating him.
"Now I'm going to sweep the floor with your little faces!" Kaizen said, smiling and without a second thought kicked the middle of one of the soldiers' legs.
"Ughh! Son of a bitch..." The soldier grunted in pain, dropped his sword, put his hand between his legs and fell to the ground, dying in pain.
So Kaizen turned to the other soldiers, raised his sword, and pointed it at them and questioned:
"Who will be next?"
Although all the guards who were being controlled by Niah were not ordered to feel fear, at that mont it was impossible for them not to hesitate.
Hesitant, the guards tried to back off a bit, but Kaizen didn't give them enough ti for that. He used to advance even further, slashing at them. As he got closer, Kaizen used and his movents beca much smoother and faster, and the sword swung from side to side, slashing the soldiers as soon as they tried to react.
