Klaus Park's life had been completely transford in a short ti. Literally, a lot had happened in the short span of a single week.
However, of all the crazy things that happened to him, the one he was most surprised by was when he saw the Bloody Lily in Jayaa's apartnt. Who knew that such an illustrious figure from the Tretidian Kingdom was so close.
So people might say that this was Klaus' bad luck, because a person who did not trust him and who was technically Taznaar's ally now knew his true identity. She could try to blackmail him, expose his real identity, or sothing so bad that Klaus couldn't even imagine. However, Psyker had a slight feeling that both Emma, and also Bleeding Lily, did not have the temperant to do such a thing.
Yes, she was a person in practice completely unknown to Klaus Park, but he had dealt with so many people trying to pull scams on him, steal from him, or trip him up, that he had already developed a sharper eye for detecting this type of person. And from what Klaus talked about and looked her in the eye, he didn't feel she was a bad person.
Obviously, Bleeding Lily was still a little irritated with him, but now that she knew that Kaizen was Jayaa's partner, both in real life and in Rise Online, things should be even calr with her than after he proposed the deal.
Trying to forget a little about everything that had happened in the last twenty-four hours, on Saturday morning Klaus got up early from his bed to leave the house.
'Although the characteristic December snow hasn't fallen yet, it's so cold that the window panes were fogged up. I don't think anyone is awake yet.' He thought as he saw from the second floor that there was no one either in the living room or the kitchen.
Before leaving, he wanted to have at least so coffee to wake up, so as he went down to the second floor he imdiately went to the kitchen. Arriving in the kitchen, he was surprised to see that there was a post-it note on the countertop.
"Klaus, Emma or whoever is reading this note... Isabella and I left early to go to Atlanta. It's her birthday, so she wants to spend a whole weekend gambling to see if we can get enough money to spend Christmas in so tropical country. She's crazy... We'll be back Sunday night or Saturday, depending on our streak of bad luck. Bye!" Klaus read what was written on the post-it aloud. "Ah! So that was the appointnt you ntioned a few days ago."
Klaus Park turned the note over to see if there was anything else written and found the password for the digital door to the apartnt. He was relieved to find that, otherwise he would have had to wake Emma up to ask about the password. Next, Kaizen had so coffee and left the apartnt.
His destinations were first the bank and then the Happy Life Hospital, the place he hated most on the face of the earth.
As it was December, the whole of New York City had long since entered the Christmas mood. There were hologram signs everywhere downtown that made ntion of it, not to ntion the dozens of people dressed as Santa Claus asking for charity for so institution.
"Money for the hungry animals! Just $1 already helps!"
"Money for the holess! Help them stay warm in this harsh winter!"
"Money for the children in the orphanages! Please!"
Yes, even in 2027, the world was still money driven. How many hundreds of years had passed since the invention of this and it was still the most important thing in virtually every person's life?
Klaus was no exception to this and was also desperate for money, but at least now he had a light at the end of the tunnel to get a lot of money at an impressive rate. In one week of Rise Online, he had already made more money than in the last few years put together
Klaus passed by Rockefeller Center and once again did not fail to admire the giant tree there, but soon went to the bank affiliated with the Happy Life Hospital. He rembered perfectly where this place was and what it looked like. This bank had not changed at all in the last seven years. The entrance was made of marble and the floor was polished like the clearest diamond. There were very few custors in the place and he was by far the worst dressed custor among them all.
When he got to the counter, he asked the attendant to check the mortgage situation of his family's house. He gave the address, the na of the owners, confird with an ID card that he was the son of Michael and Chun Park, and had to wait a few minutes.
After this ti had passed, the attendant returned with the bank manager at her side, who called Klaus to a more private room. Klaus found this strange, but agreed and followed the Caucasian man.
Inside, the manager handed him a folder and said, "Sorry for the inconvenience, Mr. Park, but the house you live in is in foreclosure proceedings. The director of Happy Life Hospital, who is a very influential man, got an order from the contract you signed to take your house. The mortgage has been overdue for many months. Your parents have not paid the mortgage for a long ti and have only returned this week. I am sorry, but there is no appeal. You must sign these papers."
"All right, I got the call from you. I've co to bring this." Klaus took the house keys from his jacket pocket and held them out to the man.
"Oh, that makes things easier. Thank you very much." The manager said with a dull smile.
The mont the man tried to take the keys from Klaus' hand, the boy held them firmly. "What are the conditions for the discharge of our debts?"
"Sir, your family's debt currently stands at $2,100,560.97. Since you have paid several future installnts, the interest has stagnated for so ti. I confess that this was a wise thing to do, especially for those who have no guaranteed money. Today, if this bank and the hospital were to propose a settlent, the debt could probably be settled at $2 million and you would have your house back."
"2 million?"
"That's right, sir."
"All right. Thank you." Klaus said, released the keys, and then signed the papers he needed to sign to get out of that bank as quickly as possible.
