Making a slow descent, Ezra released the frozen Kraken from his grip, letting it lay on the floor.
Without looking behind, he could feel people approaching, so he quickly dried himself and put his shirt back on.
"Whoa"
"Wow"
"What is that?"
Upon seeing the frozen Kraken, the entourage all burst into exclamations, before one of them noticed Ezra.
"Ezra?!"
Everyone’s gaze turned to him imdiately and subsequently their eyes lit up, joy written across their face as they rushed towards him, covering him in a cascade of hugs and laughter.
It took a minute for them to settle down.
His mother in particular couldn’t resist pinching his cheeks as she scolded him for being gone for so long without a word.
After which, Ezra cald them down and followed them to sit underneath the do of mana.
Quartez had been cleaned, so to speak, the bodies and corpses had been properly buried, with those of the dragons and other otherworldly races sent to be studied.
The land beneath the do had ceased to be empty, in its place were now well polished stones, coloured and beautified, with tents as well.
It could now accurately be called decent.
Sitting cross legged on the tiles, Ezra assessed the ranks of everyone.
As expected, the siblings, Valentine, alongside Elisa-Valentine’s mother-were all at the late grandmaster rank, a minor realm away from reaching the Mythic rank.
His mom had broken into mid-grandmaster rank, as had Deneris and rvida-
The loss of his arm affected Raven severely, so he had yet to advance even a minor rank since then,
Frederick was the strongest amongst them having broken through Mythic rank.
Beside him was a new mber-Fressia. A forr mber of the now extinct demon cult, Grandmaster rank persona and Frederick’s sister.
It seed Frederick had managed to convince both her and the rest of them to let her stay.
The last ti he saw her she was injured and lay asleep, now she seed to have almost completely recovered. Good for her.
After complinting each of them on their hard work and relentless cultivation, he began telling them of his journey to the outside world and its wonders in the form of a story.
Starting from his ascension to the Transcendent rank, Ezra explained the outer world and the universe beyond it.
Though, he didn’t tell them of the fact that it was a different universe, neither did he ntion anything about the sovereign system nor any of its functions, nor about the fact that he beca a fledgling sovereign.
There was no need to tell them about such things.
Instead, he cited the different wonders created with tal, how advanced things they had were and what they were capable of.
As expected, the listeners gasped multiple tis, Ezra’s surpassed anything they could even produce with their imagination, it sounded too unreal!
To back up with words with evidence, he used to teleport a book into his hands, basic rune engineering and tossed it to Elisa, who in just five minutes, exclaid in wonder, staring at him with incredulous eyes.
When the others asked her to clarify, she could only reply as though her mind had scattered, going "With this we could...! No, we could even have a new magic system entirely!"
In the end, she looked at Ezra, asking him with wide eyes. "You’re telling this is the basic version?!"
At this point, the others had also begun to believe his word more.
Seeing that he’d garnered everyone’s attention, he spoke about his plans to raise Orion’s technology to such a level and then pleaded for their assistance.
Blinking, Ezra suddenly recalled sothing and with a quick "excuse " activated , appearing in the palace, where Triton was discussing with administrative officials on how to deal with certain matters.
Making a small greeting, Ezra tells the administrative officials "I need to borrow him for a bit" and places his hand on Triton’s shoulder, vanishing from sight the next mont to appear under the do in Quartez once more.
He makes the annoyed Triton take a seat, to which the gathering of grandmasters pressured him into accepting without complaints.
He was the Empire of Niton, but in a gathering of Grandmasters, what did that matter?
Even this was unofficial as the coronation had not been held yet thanks to all the troubles that graced the continent in recent tis.
Having reached the late-master rank, Triton could feel the waves of mana they were letting off and decided to llow-anyone of them could kill him.
Taking the story from the beginning, Triton is more bewildered than all the rest and refuses to believe until Ezra shows him proof, presenting him with a simple laser, causing Triton to gasp.
At this ti, soone kindly asked "That large looking octopus...is it what I think it is?"
"It’s a Kraken" Ezra replied plainly, before clearing his throat to correct himself. "It’s the Kraken"
As expected, everyone froze a bit before they asked how exactly he had captured it.
As he told of his recent escapade to the bottom of the ocean, the entourage had their imagination rewound once again.
Ultimately, they all thought ’These sort of things beca possible once one beca as a Trascendent?’ and beco even more fired up to beco stronger.
Triton on the other hand was petrified by the wave of mana all the grandmasters were exuding in the heat of passion.
Ezra then gets back on topic and explains his goal to Triton, and then starts what process he’d like to use.
But as he goes on, Triton’s face turns ugly, his expression crumpled, before ultimately bursting into outrage.
"You don’t get to just co here and ask to hand over the title of Emperor just because you feel like it!" Triton rebuked, red faced.
Ezra simply chuckled, compared to facing Alvarach, and his recent scuffle with an astral beast, it could be barely considered cute.
Still, he understood his brother’s frustration, so he raised a hand to put a stop to his outburst before addressing his worries.
"Do you also believe I would want to do such tireso work? When could I be roaming the universe and visiting the stars?" he asks quizzically.
"Then..?" Triton asked.
"This is what we’ll do" Ezra replied, resuming the explanation of his sche.
This ti, the more it went on, the more Triton’s face relaxed, until a smile ford as he gave an approving nod.
Though whether the smile was genuine or deprecating could be debated.
"I see"
On the other hand, not all the grandmasters had good looks on their faces.
Particularly his mother along with Roxanne and Velora.
"But if we do this, a lot of people will suffer" Velora stated.
"A lot of people are suffering right as we speak, and a lot more people are going to suffer more if we don’t do anything to change things" Ezra responded, eliciting nods from others, including rvida-the forr Queen of Iris.
In the pursuit of actual strength, she had relinquished her position to a suitable successor to focus purely on cultivating.
"But shouldn’t we unify the continent first? That way, we’ll advance the continent at the sa ti" Johan questioned.
Ezra shook his head. "What we intend to do is a complete overhaul of the current governing structure. If we unify the continent before doing that, all the nobles will band together and that will beco a problem"
"And whilst I intend to get rid of anyone who becos a hindrance, I’d rather not spill so much blood"
Johan nods. "Understood"
"Are there any suggestions?"
"I have one" His mom replied. "I would like you to give the nobles the chance to pack their belongings and leave to another empire if they’re dissatisfied. This way, you would have justification and public opinion on your side when you declare the adamant ones to be rebel forces"
"I will do that" Ezra concurred with a smile. "The less blood spilled, the better"
His mom’s expression’s brightened.
Afterwards, there were multiple other suggestions and questions, which each person contemplated and sifted through before coming to an agreent after several hours of back and forth, with Ezra assigning roles to each person.
When this was done, Ezra began distributing books and gifts that he had had bought from AlphaNova’s mall, he even handed one to Triton and gave him an extra one for his lover.
The won yelped in joy before being stumped as they didn’t know how to use it.
Taking his ti, Ezra taught them for a few minutes. After all, they were all basic devices.
When all that was completed and the excitent had died down, Ezra gave a closing speech. "I know the detail of this task is daunting"
Everyone let out a breath.
"It may take years and it may take decades. But at the end of its success lies infinite possibilities and the beginning of a new era that will change Orion as a whole!" he chanted. "So let us all make sure to do our best to create this prosperous future and the future worth looking forward to!"
With heavy hearts, they give a nod one after the other, smiling.
"Let us call this task ’Continent Reformation’"
"I look forward to seeing this era you speak off" Deneris replied.
An hour later, all talks were concluded and the plan was to go into effect imdiately.
As such, the gathering disperses. Each grandmaster heads to a different place, going to do the role of which they were assigned.
In the anti, cultivation would have to wait until they completed their part in the plan.
By now, night was approaching.
As everyone disperses, Triton stares at his younger brother, before letting out an imnse sigh.
"You are truly...sothing" he says, shaking his head in dismay. Recalling his brother’s brilliance, Triton couldn’t help but feel defeated.
"Don’t do that, brother" Ezra takes a gentle tone. Smiling.
"What are you talking about?" Triton wondered.
"Don’t put yourself down, brother" Ezra replied. "Among all of us. Father was most proud of you, and he would only be more proud seeing the kind you’ve grown up to be"
"Ha. Don’t try to flatter , it’ll only make feel worse"
Ezra shook his head, holding his stare "It’s not flattery, it’s the truth. You’ve succeeded father and now as Emperor, you’re upholding his legacy. You should be proud"
Triton let out a hollow laugh. "That’s hard to do when I have you as a brother"
"When you stop making comparisons, you’ll realize how significant what you’ve achieved really is" Ezra admonished.
"Give one second"
By the end of this sentence, he had already vanished.
Reappearing at Luria where the piles of gold held within his forr ring fell, Ezra finds a creature wrapped around it.
A snake of black and white that stretched four ters.
"Severus!"
After leaving him on Luria the last ti, his pet snake had now grown into an unbelievable size.
Woken up to the scent of its owner, Severus was overjoyed, rubbing his head against Ezra repeatedly.
"Haha. Yes I know. I missed you too"
Honestly, going through so many things at once, Severus had skipped Ezra’s mind.
Seeing Severus reminded of the frozen Kraken.
Rembering the reason for his visit, Ezra retracts away from Severus and scoops up four mana stones from within the pile.
"I’m sorry buddy. I’ll be back"
With that, Ezra teleports, appearing back in Quartez.
Handing Triton the mana stones, Ezra teleports back into the castle, where administrative officials had gathered in panic thanks to Triton’s sudden abduction.
"Take care" was all Ezra said before promptly vanishing once again.
He returns back to Quartez, where Frederick was waiting for him.
Putting Frederick on hold, he teleports and reappears ten seconds later, this ti with Severus in tow.
The sudden appearance of a gigantic snake made Frederick raise his brows before confirming it was Severus.
Reminiscing how he had plundered the mana mountain whilst the adventurers fought off the snake at the ti made him chuckle involuntarily.
He’d really done a bunch of crazy stuff in the past.
