After Jiang Cheng left the machinery factory, she walked alone on the night road, without her small copper gong today.
But she prepared... an electric shock baton.
The current security situation wasn’t as good as expected.
While walking, Jiang Cheng keenly noticed soone following her.
The sky was too dark for her to see who it was.
Jiang Cheng had a thought and suddenly spoke up.
"I already told you, stop following all the ti."
The person behind her paused, had they been discovered?
"Pick up your intestines."
Jiang Cheng suddenly moved after speaking abruptly.
Bending down, both hands picking up sothing from the ground, standing up, and forcefully shoving it in a direction.
"Although you got hit and died, you should still pay attention to your image outside. Others even rember to wrap their heads."
Jiang Cheng turned sideways, raised her hand as if supporting sothing in midair.
The crescent moon covered by dark clouds peeked out, casting a cool moonlight onto Jiang Cheng.
The follower felt a chill when Jiang Cheng spoke the second sentence and sobered up a bit at the third.
Under the moonlight, Jiang Cheng suddenly turned back.
A gaping mouth occupied half of her face, with a long tongue fluttering in the air.
"Ghost!"
The drunken man who had been tailing dropped everything and ran, staggering into a lamppost in his panic.
"Brother—-let’s play together!"
"Play what! Hurry and catch him, he already saw us!"
Jiang Cheng’s sudden change scared the drunk man struck by the lamppost, making him crawl away in fear.
Crawling and shouting: "I don’t want to play! No!"
Jiang Cheng shook her head, biting into a bit of the hawthorn roll she had in her mouth.
"Pretty tasty, tangy and sweet."
As she ate the hawthorn roll, Jiang Cheng took out a wet wipe to clean off the lipstick around her mouth.
"With nerves like that, why even bother following people around!"
"Two shots of liquor, and he doesn’t know what his own na is."
Jiang Cheng turned around and headed towards the police station.
As a good comrade, of course, she would report to the police.
Not long after, two policen found the trembling drunkard in a filthy ditch.
The drunk man kept shouting about ghosts, about ghosts.
"Comrade, you need to believe in science, there’s no such thing as ghosts in this world."
"That’s right, please don’t spread superstitious beliefs."
After hearing that, the drunkard clung tightly to the policeman’s arm.
"You’re full of positive energy!"
A sowhat deranged and half-drunk man was taken into custody with a thud.
anwhile, Jiang Cheng had returned to the courtyard.
Inside, Grandma Shen was sewing clothes, surprised to look up after hearing the door open.
"You’re back?"
"I missed you too!"
Jiang Cheng replied evasively, and Grandma Shen smiled at Jiang Cheng as usual.
"You haven’t eaten, have you? Shall I cook so noodles? There’s still quite a bit left from last ti."
"Add a poached egg and so cabbage leaves."
Grandma Shen put down her work and got up to busy herself.
"Grandma Shen, I ate at the machinery factory, they provide food."
"Really?"
"Of course! Director Sun was so enthusiastic, insisted on covering all three als and a midnight snack for , I couldn’t refuse!"
Grandma Shen twitched the corner of her eye, that didn’t sound like she was going hungry.
So she sat down again, picked up the unfinished clothes and continued.
The two chatted softly, sharing details of the day.
Of course, it was mainly Grandma Shen talking and Jiang Cheng listening.
After all, Jiang Cheng had to keep the translation work for Xiao R a secret.
"The Lin family has been arguing fiercely, they’re really hitting each other’s sore spots."
"Mother Lin claid He Dan was trying too hard to be a mistress, while He Dan yelled that the Lin family pretends to be garlic bulbs, taking money from her without returning it."
"Lin Chengyuan got scratched by He Dan, and He Dan was pushed down by Lin Jiaojiao."
As Grandma Shen spoke, she sighed and said, "He Dan ended up going to the hospital."
Engrossed in the story, Jiang Cheng subconsciously paused.
"Hospital?"
"Yes, after being pushed she bled, leaving a large red area on her backside, it’s still unclear what exactly happened! Lin Chengyuan took her to the hospital."
Grandma Shen continued, while Jiang Cheng’s thoughts drifted.
There was no ntion of this in the book!
Could she have miscarried? But she clearly rembered that He Dan got pregnant after a year of working.
Because in the book, the original owner was the one attending to He Dan post-pregnancy, and got tornted by her.
"Let tell you, stay away from the Lin family, a cornered dog will leap over a wall, judging by their behavior, they might just be blaming you!"
Jiang Cheng nodded in agreent, "Judging by the Lin family’s nature, they’re probably cursing !"
"But He Dan’s situation is quite coincidental, do you think she really miscarried or was it just a coincidence?"
Hearing this, Grandma Shen leaned in mysteriously and whispered, "I don’t think it’s a miscarriage, the blood color isn’t right."
Jiang Cheng responded with an "oh," and they stopped talking about the Lin family issues.
Sooner or later they’d find out what’s really happening.
Jiang Cheng picked up a piece of scrap fabric from the table, then said, "Grandma Shen, could you make Shen Yue a patchwork bag?"
"What kind of bag?"
Jiang Cheng quickly took out paper and pen, drawing a small, child-friendly shoulder bag.
"That’s really pretty!"
Grandma Shen, too, felt a bit of youthful excitent.
"I’ll make it! I have plenty of scrap fabric left, I’ll pick so out and make Yue Yue two, so she can alternate!"
Jiang Cheng nodded, "Sure, I’ll give her so candies tomorrow, little girls love having their own bags, it’s so stylish."
"You’re right,"
Grandma Shen was motivated but was stopped by Jiang Cheng, "Do it during the day tomorrow, it’s too late now."
Grandma Shen glanced over.
"Making just one is quick! That way Yue Yue can use it in the morning, she’ll be so happy."
Jiang Cheng thought for a mont and agreed!
Working together, they completed a dium-sized patchwork bag in under twenty minutes.
It had no zipper, so Grandma Shen used two buttons.
Grandma Shen couldn’t put it down, praising, "Your mind sure is handy."
"That’s for sure, but keep praising, I enjoy it!"
Jiang Cheng received a playful eye-roll from Grandma Shen, who then took the bag away.
"One mouth is enough for you, I’ll give it to Yue Yue."
Jiang Cheng looked at her empty hands and then at the closed door across.
She laughed helplessly.
"Vying for attention."
Jiang Cheng smiled back into her room, after stretching, she started reading and studying.
At eleven thirty, she went to bed promptly.
The next day she was up at four thirty, continuing her reading and exercise.
A little after six, Shen Yue’s excited shout made Jiang Cheng put down her book and head out.
"Sister! Look! Look!"
Shen Yue held up her new little fabric bag, too excited for words.
"It’s so pretty."
"Auntie gave it to !"
Jiang Cheng looked at the excited Shen Yue and asked, "Did you thank Auntie?"
Shen Yue’s small mouth ford an ’O’, it seed she hadn’t thought of that.
Jiang Cheng squatted down, whispered a few words in Shen Yue’s ear, and little Shen Yue’s head nodded repeatedly.
"I’m going right now, Sister!"
