Chapter 185: A Strange Von
...
Von finally got down from the car. He pulled a spare black facemask he had borrowed from Chloe’s car up over his nose and mouth to hide his identity.
After waving Chloe goodbye from the sidewalk and reminding her to stay safe, he quickly turned and disappeared into the dark shadows cast by the hotel’s exterior walls.
Chloe watched him walk away until he was completely swallowed by the darkness. It was only after she had driven her car forward and was waiting for the security gate to open did she suddenly realize sothing terrible.
’I haven’t gotten his number!’
Just that sudden realization was enough to make her want to cry all over again.
"I’ll never forget you, Mr. Janitor," Chloe said to herself with tears in her eyes, sitting alone in the quiet car for so minutes.
The security gate slowly rolled open. Now, it was ti for her to find her way back to her room without alerting the guards.
Thankfully, she had so friends on the inside.

anwhile, after being dropped off by Chloe, Von was left standing in the shadows, wondering how the hell he was going to enter the hotel undetected.
He was wearing the black facemask, and thankfully he still had his janitor clothes on. If he just kept his head low, he might successfully mingle among the staff without drawing too much attention.
But before that, Von walked around the periter and looked up at the massive, fifteen-foot concrete wall standing before him.
"I’ll have to climb this if there’s any chance of
getting in," Von muttered to himself.
He didn’t have a grappling hook like his character in Citadel, so he couldn’t just zip his way up to the roof.
That left him to getting his hand dirty and testing how much raw strength and agility his body really gave him. He backed up a few paces, preparing to run.

anwhile, as Von prepared to scale the wall outside, Loki was currently upstairs on the fourth floor.
Loki, who was currently morphed to look exactly like Von, was sleeping comfortably spread-eagle on the large hotel bed amidst the absolute disturbance going on in the room.
The room was a ss. There were empty fish snack wrappers and empty sushi containers thrown all over the floor and the desk.
The hotel phone on the bedside table was ringing loudly. It had been vibrating and ringing for the third ti in just five minutes.
anwhile, the door to the room was being stord with loud, persistent knocks.
Loki finally had enough of all the disturbances. She groaned in Von’s voice and finally got off the soft bed.
She felt too tired and lazy to even walk properly, dragging her legs across the carpet, stepping over the food wrappers all over the room.
She walked to the door and pulled it open to et the hotel nurse who had co for the routine evening swabbing and testing.
Loki was already accustod to her visits from the morning, so she just let the woman in with a lazy, bored look on her face.
"Good morning, Mr. Varley."
The nurse was dressed in full blue PPE gear, wearing a gown, a face shield, and thick gloves. Loki stayed completely put, standing still in the middle of the room while the nurse stepped forward.
The nurse pulled out a long, uncomfortable cotton swab and shoved it deep into Loki’s nasal cavity to collect the sample.
It was an incredibly uncomfortable process, but Loki didn’t flinch. She didn’t even say a single word throughout the entire thing.
anwhile, the phone was still ringing loudly on the table.
Just before the nurse packed up her dical kit and walked out of the room, she looked back at him.
"Everything is okay with your temperature. But Just a reminder, sir, your phone on the table has been ringing non-stop."
"I know," Loki said in a monotone voice, and quickly pushed the door closed.
After the nurse left, Loki stretched her arms high above her head, popping Von’s shoulders a bit, before slowly walking over to pick up the annoying phone.
Von had actually received many calls since he left the room the night before. Loki had left all of them completely unanswered just like Von instructed, but this specific caller had been incredibly persistent with the ringing.
Loki looked at the screen. She saw it was a video call request from a contact nad ’Leviathan’.
She didn’t care. She swiped the screen and picked it up anyway.
"Hello?" she said lazily into the cara, not even trying to look presentable.
A large bearded man showed up on the screen. It was Leviathan. But before the rapper could even say a single word, another man with a white moustache snatched the phone out of his hands and took over the screen.
"Why haven’t you been picking up your calls, Von?" Marcus asked with an angry and impatient tone.
"I was sleeping, and you were disturbing . Why were you calling?"
Marcus’s mouth fell wide open at the sheer audacity of the response. No one ever spoke to the Director like that.
Off to the side of the screen, Leviathan imdiately burst into a loud laughter seeing the shocked expression on Marcus’s face.
"Ohh, I see," Marcus finally said, his tone turning dangerously sarcastic.
"Sorry, my king. You can enjoy your beauty sleep. But I really hope you’re taking that sleep as seriously as you’re taking your script. Because I won’t be forgiving when you go through your audition tomorrow. You’ll go straight back to Miami if you can’t deliver it flawlessly."
"Okay, that’s cool," Loki said.
She tried to form a nice, polite smile to end the conversation, but the smile looked really scary instead.
"Have a nice beauty sleep, too!" Loki added cheerfully.
She hung up the video call imdiately afterwards and climbed right back onto the warm bed, dropping the phone carelessly back onto the table.
