Chapter 150: Global Siege Invitational

...

Even Von hadn’t expected the actual ga developers to be watching Max’s stream, let alone react that quickly.

Leviathan being thrown into the mix only made the situation crazier. Leviathan wasn’t just a rapper. He was the undisputed king of the modern era.

He had multiple diamond-certified albums and broke streaming records every ti he dropped a single. But what made him truly universally loved was how much he interacted with his fans.

He constantly engaged in the gaming community, hosted massive charity streams, and played with his fans.

More importantly, besides being a legendary singer, Leviathan was a top-class gar. He was known as a legitimate sweat who could keep up with professional esports players.

The fact that Leviathan was joining this tournant proved exactly how massive this event was going to be.

I don’t rember this happening in my tiline, Von thought to himself. The butterfly effect was definitely acting up again, but this was a change he could use to his advantage.

Max was much more eager. He grabbed Von by the shoulders and started shaking him.

"You have to do it, bro! This is the big leagues! I’ve been in the community for years and I can’t even dream of getting an opportunity like this!"

It wasn’t just Max. The chat was moving at light speed, with thousands of people pleading for him to accept the invitation.

"Oh, really?" Von decided to tease with a smirk playing on his lips. "I’ll accept then."

Honestly, he didn’t see any reason to reject it. It wasn’t just about the insane popularity and clout he would gain. Being able to contribute to a million-dollar charity cause during a global lockdown was never a bad thing.

Max imdiately pumped his fist in the air, letting out a triumphant yell.

"Yes! Let’s go!

and you, son! We’re gonna take ho that million!"

Von slowly turned his head to look at Max. He held a deadly serious look for a few seconds before suddenly bursting into laughter.

"You and who again? Wrap it up, man. You ain’t coming."

[NoCapNews: SICK BURN ??????]

[ToxicTimmyv: Ouch lmao I feel for Max but what was bro thinking?]

[heyNotSorry: He just lost 10 to nothing and thought he was on the team ??]

[Deathsketcher: Bro got benched on his own stream]

Max imdiately tried to protest. His voice cracked, and it almost seed like he was crying.

"But why?! It’s so unfair! I’m the reason you even got invited in the first place! And I’m your boss, so I command you to invite

right now!"

Von shook his head. He reached out and placed a heavy hand on Max’s shoulder, giving him that famous

facial expression.

"You’re not good enough," Von said with a smile. "Go practice, and maybe you could earn your own invite one day."

Max’s jaw dropped open. "Bro! I was going easy on you! Ask the chat, I’m pretty good at this ga! You’re just sothing else. Besides, who do you even know? You can’t just find soone else that’s better on such short notice. Chemistry is really important too!"

"Oh, that’s not a problem. I already have a partner in mind," Von said, a dangerous highly confident smile spreading across his face.

"Who?" Max pressed.

"You guys will find out when the official bracket drops."

Von briefly read the comnts flying across the screen. Thousands of viewers were rapidly making their predictions about who he was going to team up with. One specific na stood out the most in the chat, repeated over and over, but Von didn’t want to answer and ruin the suspense.

He stood up from the couch and stretched his arms. He had seriously spent a good chunk of his ti entertaining Max and his stream, and he had his own plans to sort out.

"Two hundred and twenty thousand viewers. Damn," Von laughed, looking at the current viewer count. "Well, I’ll be leaving you with the boss now. I think we can all say we had a good ti."

He gave the cara a two-finger salute to bid them goodbye.

The comnt section instantly began crying over his departure.

[WifeOfVonV: Nooo don’t go!! Max is boring without you!]

[THE_PRESIDENT ??: Thank you Max’s employee, we like helping small creators like you ????]

[GarGod7i: We should do this more often! I can’t wait to watch you in the tournant!]

Max pulled the laptop closer to him. As soon as Von stepped out of the fra, the viewer count began free-falling. Dropping from 220k to 200k, and then 170k in a matter of seconds. Max sighed and coughed, deciding that he should just end the broadcast while he was still ahead.

"You heard the man, chat! Von is entering the Global Siege Invitational! Thank you for watching the craziest stream of my life. Peace out!"

Max hit the end broadcast button. The red live icon disappeared.

Despite Von’s brutal rejection, Max was still incredibly happy with how well the stream had done. The numbers completely dwarfed any other stream he had ever hosted before.

"I’m taking this maid outfit off," Max sighed heavily, pulling at the tight lace collar around his neck. "I’m exhausted."

"You did good today," Von chuckled, walking toward the sliding bookshelf to open the exit. "Go get so rest."

Max trudged out of the room, leaving Von alone. The doors clicked shut and Von finally had his secret room all to himself.

He walked past the couch and the massive TVs, heading straight for the center of the room.

He sat down in the high-end ergonomic chair and booted up the beast of a PC. The liquid-cooling tubes lit up in a neon blue glow. He reached over and put on the noise-canceling headset.

This was actually the first ti he was fully utilizing the PC setup since he built the room.

Von leaned forward and opened a browser. He needed to get his facts straight.

Today was March 26th.

Tomorrow, on the 27th, the Far Away bundle, featuring both the original track and Patch’s hardstyle remix, was scheduled to drop on all streaming platforms.

Then, the day after tomorrow, the Global Siege Invitational would kick off. He didn’t have much ti on his hands.

He typed the tournant na into the search bar and pulled up the official rules and format. It was even bigger than Max had described.

The tournant featured fifty teams in total, one hundred players made up of pro gars, strears, and celebrity guests.

Because of the massive player count, the first stage of the event was a massive Battle Royale format. All fifty teams would drop into a massive map to fight for survival and points. After the dust settled, the top 32 placed teams would move on to the knockout rounds.

The knockout rounds completely changed the pace. It shifted into a Clash Squad format, a highly tactical 2v2 matches where teams had to attack and defend smaller Citadels, just like the mode he and Max had just played.

The entire competition was spread across ten days to maximize viewership and charity donations. Reading through the massive prize pool and the global hype surrounding it, it was honestly a surprise that Von hadn’t heard of it until today, given how heavily it had been promoted online.

After Von was done reading through the rules, he checked for the player list.

The official roster was still mostly private. Only a few famous figures, like Leviathan, had been officially listed to build hype. However, the online forums were buzzing with rumors that a good number of the top-ranked gars across the world and several Esports champions were confird to be participating.

It wasn’t going to be a walk in the park. But Von was very excited.

He cracked his knuckles, a confident grin forming. With his future knowledge of the ga’s chanics, and with the specific teammate he had in mind, he believed they had the chance to go all the way and win the whole thing.

Von pulled his phone out of his pocket and unlocked it.

Ti to give Aura a call.
