Chapter 822: Chapter 32: Reunion with Old Friends

As evening approached, Eleanor finally began to break through her demigod threshold.

The battle-style ponytail at the back of her head was elegantly untied, allowing her radiant golden hair to cascade down. A brilliant white light, ford by her will, gathered around her, gradually transforming into a sea as bright as the sun.

Next, her body abruptly turned into white light, collapsing with a roar into the sea of flas.

Minutes later, the white light began to swiftly weave once more in the air, sketching out the silhouette of a knight girl. Ultimately, she erged boldly from the endless light and fire, holding a spear in her right hand and a shield in her left, her presence awe-inspiring like a Valkyrie.

The cosmic law spectrum slightly trembled in the hearts of the demigods present, akin to the sensation when young Mia broke through to beco a demigod. After all, Eleanor’s Will Law wasn’t considered a particularly powerful or rare composite law. It was chosen because of its perfect alignnt with the Unyielding Holy Sword—much like Mia’s Ripple Sword and Black Hole Law.

Soon, Apilius of Olympia City was alerted and hurried over in search of the newly risen demigod, but found nothing… Eleanor had ascended on Fire Island, so he naturally couldn’t find her on the main plane.

When the girls returned to the main plane, they were puzzled to find that the scrutiny from Thessalonica’s guards had inexplicably beco much stricter than before.

Particularly, the “Identification Spirit Light” scroll, a specialty of the Orthodox, was used freely as if free of charge, revealing many Transcendents hidden among the rcenaries and adventurers.

These individuals were then politely taken away for tea, registration, and to sign employnt contracts with Olympia City.

Of course, the content of Transcendents’ employnt contracts was much more generous than those of ordinary rcenaries, with corresponding additional constraints, as Olympia City would never let so many Transcendents roam freely on its territory.

However, while low-rank Transcendents couldn’t avoid the guards’ scrutiny, the girls of The Azure Longsword didn’t mind at all. Mia led several Ripple Sword users, and they jumped away from Thessalonica, arriving at a nearby large rcenary group’s base.

Soon after, they encountered a familiar face.

“You are…” Looking at the man leading a rcenary squad across from them, Aske instinctively felt a sense of familiarity.

Judging by the emblem and equipnt configuration on these rcenaries’ armor, they should belong to the Steel Cross rcenary Corps from the Holy Solomon Empire.

Yet this mustached team leader was neither the familiar Andreia, the leader of the southeast division of Steel Cross, nor the vice leader Herman, but soone they had t sowhere else, though Aske couldn’t recall his na at the mont…

“Alfred,” Miel quietly reminded from the side.

“Oh!” Aske imdiately rembered.

Alfred, who was once one of the Crusader leaders besieging Olympia City.

Later, when the Crusaders suffered a massive defeat under the onslaught of the Magic Tide, the guy fled to the Innsbruck Barony under the Bavarian Duchy and mixed his way to beco a baron’s city guard officer under the Earl.

During the war resisting the Wolf family’s invasion, he even fought alongside the mbers of The Azure Longsword.

Years later, it was unexpected to find that the guy not only joined the Steel Cross rcenary Corps but also returned to the ranks of the Crusaders. Indeed, wherever there was a war opportunity, he promptly went there.

Aske marveled at this and saw Alfred, while passing by, scrutinizing his face with so doubt and hesitantly asking:

“Hmm? Haven’t we t sowhere before?”

“Is that so?” Aske smiled without answering.

Consequently, the guy turned his head and shouted to soone in the distance:

“Hey, Vice Leader! There’s a suspicious guy here!”

Thus, Vice Leader Herman approached and, at first glance upon seeing Aske, also didn’t recognize him imdiately.

However, seeing the eight girls behind him, such an oddly configured rcenary group quickly triggered his realization:

“Captain Aske! Long ti no see, what a surprise to encounter you all here again!” Herman said with a radiant smile, stepping forward to shake hands.

Currently, Eleanor from The Azure Longsword Team is, in fact, the daughter of Emperor Otto of the Holy Solomon Empire, a fact that wasn’t at all secret among the higher ranks of the Steel Cross rcenary Corps.

Frankly, even if the great captain of their headquarters were present, standing before the girls and Aske, he’d have to put on a smile and personally greet them courteously.

Nevertheless, since their southeast division had previously fought alongside The Azure Longsword:

Once in a pursuit of Temple Knights in the town of Stanimaka in the East Solomon Empire (actually a competitive relationship), another involving the snow monster mutations on the Peloponnese Peninsula, and yet another during the Mind Town mutations, the two parties had forged a deep bond of camaraderie.

Therefore, Herman’s smile at this mont bore little fabrications… at least he felt so deep down.

However, upon hearing his salute as “Captain Aske,” Alfred’s expression imdiately changed.

Damn, The Azure Longsword rcenary Corps! No wonder my luck hasn’t seed right lately; bad things always seem to happen when I see this team!

Reflecting on the past, Alfred realized that whether as an opponent or a companion, he’d been pitted by The Azure Longsword rcenary Corps ti and again:

Once during the Crusader siege of Olympia City, where the defensive line under his charge was breached and infiltrated by them as if taking a sieve, leading to his being scolded outrageously by King Bernifax and other Crusader leaders.

Another was during the resistance against the Wolf family’s invasion of Innsbruck City, where eventually unable to hold back, he discreetly arranged for his n to flee the city by boat—a move that ended with that damn captain using their vessel to leave together.

Alfred even rembered that vampire girl in their team flaunting their love aboard the ship back then, leaving him feeling awkward and unloved.

Since joining the Steel Cross rcenary Corps, Alfred understood at least the basic details of a few collaborative experiences his team had with The Azure Longsword.

The Temple Knights incident, for example, resulted in the spoils being snatched away by The Azure Longsword, causing Andreia’s performance that year to receive a grade of C; the Snow Monster incident yielded considerable benefits, but most of the materials were purchased from The Azure Longsword, aning they won in performance but lost financially.

As for the Mind Town incident, although no genuine collaborative fight occurred, he heard that Matthews from the Free Wind rcenary Group had dealings with them, only to end up making a complete fool of himself, which in turn provided Captain Andreia with nearly half a month of delightful sentints.

Thinking this through, The Azure Longsword seed to be a harbinger of disaster; whoever encountered them was likely to be out of luck! He really didn’t understand how Vice Leader Herman could smile so effortlessly.
