Capítulo 776: Chapter 146: Need to Stay Calm

As everyone knows, low-rank undead spirits lack their own cognitive abilities and can only execute the commands of their commander in a chanical and rigid manner.

A bit like the Insect Race in science fiction works, they are nurous and thoughtless, requiring a brain to manipulate them before they can be transford into killing machines on the battlefield.

The Undead Wizard Salum, a Corpse Witch Bloodline Transcendent, was currently hiding far away from the battlefield, monitoring and manipulating the situation through an invisible banshee.

Speaking of which, the function of the invisible banshee as a cara and command terminal was developed by his forr colleague Ansalra. However, that fellow was recently assassinated under mysterious circumstances in Alcazava’s Mourning Palace. It was said that the “Edge of Mourning” Resentful Spirit Demigod even pursued the assassins but returned fruitlessly.

Since then, the news that there were highly skilled assassins within the human factions had spread among the group of undead wizards, making everyone ticulously conceal their locations during combat. Otherwise, a direct assassination by the enemy would render any number of low-rank undead spirits useless.

The opponents were likely from Brittania’s Golden Sparrow rcenary Group, as could be seen from the skirt-wearing swordsman and the lineup of gunners firing in sequence.

Honestly, those rifles had sowhat decent killing power against the undead, but to a wizard, low-rank undead spirits were rely a nurical asset, easily replenishable given enough money.

As for those cross-dressing swordsn… trash. A Level 0 human, no matter how much their body is enhanced, ultimately remains a mortal flesh, and cannot defeat a Transcendent since there is a rank suppression between them.

Of the entire rcenary group present, Undead Wizard Salum specifically noted three people:

The tallest cross-dressing swordsman, probably a Level 3-4 Transcendent, seed to have physical or physical property sequence enhancent abilities like strength, blunt weapons, blocking, etc., trash.

The red-clothed commander commanding the gunners from the back, likely a Level 5-6 Transcendent, hasn’t yet demonstrated any sequence ability. But as a commander, it’s highly probable he has team-enhancing sequence abilities like wisdom, tactics, etc., unlikely to co into play on the battlefield.

Finally, the unfamiliar man mingling among the Highland Swordsn caught Salum’s eye as extraordinary.

Because he wasn’t wearing a skirt.

Amongst a bunch of cross-dressing powerhouses, his lack of cross-dressing naturally stood out starkly. This fellow could conjure weapons out of thin air and disappear amidst the surrounding and sniper attacks of skeleton archers, invoking a natural wariness in Salum.

It was an unheard-of sequence ability.

Moreover, whether charging or retreating, this man was always out of sync with the cross-dressing swordsn—clearly, he hadn’t undergone professional training, hence frequently breaking away from the team.

Thus, as a battlefield commander within the Undead Army system, Salum naturally made the most sensible decision under the current circumstances:

To prioritize assassinating this Transcendent the next ti he broke away from the team.

The Highland Swordsn roared and charged again, this ti with expressions and montum quite different from before, less valiant and wild, and more subtly desperate and mad.

However, before they could reach the frontline, Aske once again burst out from the formation at an extraordinary speed, his longsword aid directly at the undead.

Salum’s expression hardened; this was exactly the reckless charge he was waiting for!

The ghouls in front suddenly scattered to the sides, revealing a row of undead archers with their bows fully drawn, surprisingly similar in formation to the lobster gunn.

These archers, originally ant to deal a lethal blow to the charging Highland Swordsn, now collectively aid their arrows at him due to his solo ergence.

Fired by tirelessly bone arms, the arrows, drawn to the limit, shot out with overwhelming montum!

Aske still maintained his high-speed charge, his longsword swung so tightly that it was impenetrable, accompanied by the sound of bone arrows breaking like firecrackers, countless fragnts scattered in all directions.

“Hmm?” Saruman was shocked again. He wasn’t naive enough to think that the other party had blocked so many arrows rely with Martial Arts and swordsmanship… It was yet another ability he had never seen before!

However, such a powerful ability must consu a lot of Spirituality.

Low-Rank Undead Spirits, although obeying the commander’s orders to move, draw the Spirituality they use from the Undead Fire within their skulls, which is a defective “Skeleton” characteristic.

That ans, the ongoing battle between the opponent and the Skeleton Archers fundantally involved consuming their own Spirituality against the Undead Fire inside the Skeleton bodies. And both Skeletons and soul fire are cheap Transcendent creations, so using them up wouldn’t cause any distress.

Saruman would be thrilled if the opponent continued to clash head-on with his Undead minions!

Thus, the Ghouls imdiately dispersed and attacked the Highland Swordsn, while the Skeleton Archers densely surrounded them, evidently intending to trap Aske to death.

“Co back! Co back!” Eric’s loud shout suddenly ca from behind.

The Crab Gunn were of course well aware that these Highland Swordsn were desperately buying them ti, so this round of reloading was done as quickly as humanly possible, and the firearms were quickly reloaded.

Hearing Eric’s shout, the Highland Swordsn turned around without hesitation and ran, not entangling themselves with the Ghouls at all. Aske also quickly turned and rushed towards the rear.

Trying to run? Undead Wizard Saruman smirked coldly. A floating, invisible Banshee dove down, its unseen arm swiftly stabbing towards Aske’s back.

Paralyzing Touch!

Aske didn’t evade but instead turned while running and swung his Longsword backward, unleashing a tempest of swordsmanship that strangely intercepted all the concentrated fire from the Skeleton Archers.

At the sa ti, the Banshee’s arm had silently touched his back.

Got him! Saruman was exhilarated, just about to order the pursuing Ghouls to pounce and rip him apart… Suddenly, through the information from the invisible Banshee, he saw the human male, who should be immobile, turn his head around nonchalantly and say,

“For centuries now, is your tactical understanding as an Undead Wizard still so rudintary? Direct assault, sneak attacks from behind; using these tactics a myriad of tis makes them utterly transparent, you know?”

Saruman: ???

What is this human talking about? This is standard tactics written in our Hafsga’s military manuals! Cleverly utilizing the Ghouls’ speed and Banshees’ invisibility, coordinated for assassinating key targets on the battlefield!

“Heh, tactics written in military manuals are just common knowledge, right?” Seeing through what he was thinking, the opponent continued, “Just blindly following the book and implenting tactics without any personal understanding or variation, I guess you must be just a rookie Corpse Witch fresh from the military academy?”

Those words were incredibly venomous, making Saruman imdiately feel a sense of dignity assaulted and disregarded, with uncontrollable anger welling up from within.

Because that was exactly what he was, a Low-Rank Corpse Witch. Though not a graduate, he had been in military service for three years.

“I can’t wait to see what skills you really have!” While inwardly cursing his opponent, Saruman manipulated the invisible Banshee to lunge at his body again.

Eh, can’t move? Why had the Banshee lost its ability to move?

“It’s the Paralyzing Touch.” The man halted, swung his sword again, and sliced through another volley of incoming arrows while simultaneously cutting down the approaching Ghouls, saying, “Can’t you recognize your own minion’s ‘Possession’ Sequential Ability derivative move?”

How could I not recognize it! Saruman roared inwardly. What baffles is why you would also possess this ability! The “Possession” Sequence is supposed to be an ability only a Banshee Bloodline can harness from the Magic Potion Sequence!

“This really won’t do. A qualified Undead Wizard should at least know his minions’ abilities like the back of his hand.” The man seed to stop fleeing altogether, stood in place, and started hacking wildly, killing all the incoming Ghouls.

I don’t need you to teach ! Saruman montarily lost control of his emotions, compelled to once again activate his own “Undead” Bloodline Sequence, using the Cold Blood to forcibly calm himself down.
