Chapter 633: Chapter 12 The Secrets of the Maiden

“He must have done it on purpose!”

On the training field of Fire Island, dea gritted her teeth as she spoke.

“Whether it was intentional or not, didn’t you read his mind?” Miel, with her back against dea’s, was vigilant of the surrounding area, ready for any possible attacks, and asked.

“No,” dea shalessly replied, “there was no ti to read.”

Miel certainly thought dea had read it.

“Stop chattering, you two!” Mia, who was swiftly running around the periter, suddenly shouted, then took a tricky angle to cut in.

So fast! dea subconsciously wanted to activate her skill to control her, but Mia’s speed far exceeded her reaction ti. Before dea could aim, the shadow under her feet suddenly entwined around her ankle, hanging the Enchanting Demon lady upside down.

She dangled in the air, swaying, but she quickly fell again: because Miel had already shot and broken the shadow that bound her.

“Huh?” Mia uttered in surprise, as her shadow was supposed to be immune to physical damage. How could it be cut off by a bullet?

“It’s fate.” Miel discerned her confusion and actually provided a live comntary, “I attached the ability of ‘Mirror Pulling’ to the bullet, which replaces all the space the bullet passes through with the sa coordinates in parallel worlds.”

“When the bullet hit your shadow, since the parallel world’s version of you didn’t cast a shadow there, the ability of Mirror Pulling cut off your shadow.”

“So that’s how it is!” Mia realized, then quickly zigzagged left and right, expertly dodging Miel’s rounds of gunfire, and in half a second, she had rushed right up to her.

The twin blades danced like the wind, piercing towards Miel with decisive, unreserved moves. In fact, with Nora of Bloodline Completion on the scene, as long as it wasn’t a sudden death caused by a thrust to the brain or heart, they could almost always be saved.

Furthermore, with Peggy’s “Death Deprivation” skill, even a thrust to the brain or heart wouldn’t matter. Thus, what was originally only possible to achieve on Earth though a private server, “100% life-like training,” was finally realized in Aske’s team.

The vicious twin blades thrust at Miel, only to be countered by identical twin blades that erged from the void, and Mia, incredulously, looked to find herself faced with a mirror image that was an exact copy of her.

“ from a parallel world? Wow, amazing!” Mia shouted as she thrust her blades, while the Mia from the opposite side wielded the blades in a similarly uncanny rhythm. The four blades clashed intensely dozens of tis in the blink of an eye, with sparks flying amidst the harsh tallic clangs.

Thira stood outside the field, next to Nora, focusing intently on the battle. Seeing Miel suddenly pull out a Mia from a parallel world, she too was initially surprised, but quickly detected sothing amiss.

Personality.

Mia wasn’t the type to stay calm, as evidenced by the flurry of questions she asked while dueling “herself” within a few seconds; however, the Mia from the parallel world, although equally skilled in combat, remained silent throughout, issuing only seasoned counters in silence.

Could it be a difference in personality? No, even if this other Mia were disinclined to speak by nature, it still wouldn’t explain why she had, from the mont she appeared from the parallel world, unhesitatingly fought for Miel.

There must be so ability that helped Miel control these characters she pulled from parallel worlds.

Thira was pondering this when she saw Eleanor enter the fray.

“dea! Pick up your sword!” she bellowed, then transford into flowing radiance, blinking rapidly in front of dea.

dea had just picked herself up from the ground, and hearing Eleanor’s roar, she was almost scared out of her wits. In the entire team, when it ca to adapting quickly in a pinch, her and Nora were nearly the worst (after all, they usually hid and deceived others with Mind Blind Zone). At that mont, she hurriedly rolled clumsily out of the way and distanced herself from Eleanor while snatching up the longsword from the ground.

As she lifted her longsword, Eleanor had already thrust her sword downward. The clash of blades roared loudly, pushing dea back several steps. To her surprise, she found that the longsword in her hand did not slip from her grasp.

Eleanor’s strength was sothing dea knew all too well, beyond what her weak physique could withstand. Yet, from the force of that attack, it seed Eleanor had struck with all her might—had she actually blocked it?

Quickly, though, dea realized sothing was amiss, for a certain shimring radiance was entwined around her right hand, enveloping both her grip and the hilt of the sword tightly in its light.

“That is Will Armor,” Eleanor said gravely. “I’ve fashioned a guard for you with my will so you need not fear your weapon slipping from your hand.”

Unable to let go of her weapon (and feign defeat)… Having co to an understanding, dea almost fell ill with irritation. This ant she could only be forced to cross swords with you directly, right?

She glared angrily at Aske outside the arena, for who else but the Squad Leader could co up with such a bizarre and unpleasant idea? But Eleanor did not give her a chance to recover, quickly pressing forward again with her sword.

Clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang, clang! A succession of sword strikes, like a fierce storm, nearly snapped dea’s right arm with its trendous force.

Unlike Mia, Eleanor’s attacks were tempered with rcy, slowly increasing the frequency and intensity of her assault until dea reached the limits of her physical ability to respond, then maintaining that level of aggression, forcing dea to constantly exert her maximum effort to fend off the onslaught.

Needless to say, this too was a training strategy refined by Aske.

With dea now on the right track, Miel unleashed an unexpectedly skilful move, briefly gaining the upper hand over Mia.

Aske signalled to up the stakes, so Peggy joined the fray as well.

Undead Illusion Sword.

Suddenly, a dozen more Peggys appeared, all charging toward Miel.

Miel quickly activated her ability again, trying to pull a Peggy from a parallel world to counter. Yet just as a blurry figure of “Peggy” began to erge from the void, the real Peggy pointed a finger, and from the air swam strange black tadpole-shaped creatures, which transford into a jet of black light, striking the figure at a terrifying speed.

Curse Death!

The parallel world’s Peggy had not fully appeared when she took a direct hit from the curse. However, the other reacted swiftly, slapping sothing on herself just before dying—Peggy recognized it was the “Death Deprivation” skill.

The Peggy from the parallel world, her first instinct to apply Death Deprivation to herself, had just managed to block the effect of the curse death.

Then she vanished.

Indeed, characters from parallel worlds could be attacked and disrupted while being pulled into this one. If one managed to inflict a certain level of damage before the opponent’s complete arrival, it was possible to prevent their appearance.

Of course, only soone with Aske’s “gaming ntality” would seek out weaknesses from a gaplay perspective the mont he encountered unfamiliar Law Skills.

Miel was clearly stunned, evidently unaware of the flaw in her skill, and imdiately a vast number of Peggys charged at her.

In an instant, the half-elf girl even felt the impulse to “summon the Banshee Queen.” With her current level of strength and the help of the Eden Fruit’s abilities, she could entirely summon the Banshee Queen of the sa ti point, already at Lv.20.

And then with demigod possession, crush the opposition, and end the fight.

Of course, doing so would utterly expose her concealed strength to Aske, and the source of this unrealistic power would inevitably co under scrutiny, eventually forcing her to disclose the existence of the Eden Fruit… Thus, Miel decisively opted for a passive defense.
