Chapter 619: Chapter 129: The Kiss

What’s it like to play the role of a temporary boyfriend for a stunning beauty?

Initially, I refused, but then… it was truly delectable.

It’s important to note that although Aske behaves like a hardhearted straight man, he is not made of steel… He has normal orientations, normal aesthetics, and the normal desires that a man should have, unlike those legendary characters in novels who “cut off all emotions and desires solely to beco stronger.”

The reason he doesn’t make a move on the girls in his team is because of his pure and upright nature. He would never lightly give a girl a beautiful romance and ties, only to pull away heartlessly one day—after all, he will ultimately have to leave, so why break soone’s heart?

While this logic chain might seem formidable, dea, the Enchanting Demon who is adept at manipulating logic, quickly perceived its essence:

Accepting your love would create ties, and if I leave, it would break these ties and hurt you. Thus, I’d rather maintain a distance.

On the flip side, to break this logic chain, one could start from two aspects: one is “We won’t create ties,” and the other is “I won’t get hurt.” As long as she could convince Aske of one of these, she might be able to break down his psychological defenses.

dea chose the first option this ti. Pretending to be a boyfriend ans, “I’ll stay close to you all day, but after today, we’ll revert to our original relationship.”

In other words, it’s just playing at romance, no real relationship progress, thus no ties are ford. So what are you worried about? Are you worried you might fall in love with ? Hahaha…

“What are you laughing at?” Aske suddenly asked.

“I’m thinking of sothing happy,” dea put away her smile.

“I won’t ask ‘what happy thing’ then,” Aske said, trying to change the subject, but dea quickly grabbed his cheek and forcefully turned his face toward her.

“Ask !” she demanded unreasonably, “Ask quickly.”

“What happy thing?” Aske mumbled, his cheek pinched.

“I got a boyfriend today,” dea said excitedly, “and he’s my first love, how about that?”

“Congratulations,” Aske said, “What’s the boyfriend like?”

“Oh, he’s quite a nice guy,” dea smiled sweetly, “except for being chauvinistic, violent, insensitive, fierce, rude, autocratic, cowardly, shirking responsibilities, and having a lousy character, there are no particularly unbearable flaws.”

Aske: ……………..

“Why would you like soone so terrible?” Aske asked helplessly.

“Because a charming demon pairs well with a lousy guy!” dea hugged his arm and excitedly pulled him forward, “Don’t you think a sneaky, evil, unscrupulous, cruel, libertine, sadistic, masochistic, betraying, and intensely male-hating enchanting demon is a perfect match for you, this lousy guy?”

She dragged Aske’s right arm, smiling broadly as they walked on.

The two passed through the streets of Palermo, entering a local market. As a crossroads in the diterranean, this port city seed like a super lting pot combining Latin technology, Afeilica’s undead traditions, and Norman barbaric systems, possessing a variety of ethnic characteristics.

At a flower stall, an old man nad Solomon energetically promoted his wares:

“Fresh Bulgarian roses, shipped in from the Aegean Sea, kept fresh throughout the journey, look at the dew still on them…”

The old man avoided the thorns of the roses and skillfully pulled out a few, bundling them together and handing them over. But dea didn’t reach out to take them; she just kept smiling and picking flowers, making the stall owner sowhat embarrassed.

“How much?” Aske had no choice but to take the bouquet and asked.

He decisively paid the money, and dea pulled him away.

“Why did you pay?” When they reached a secluded corner and she turned around, dea feigned anger, “I didn’t ask you to buy them.”

“I thought you wanted them,” Aske said.

“I’m not Nora; what use do I have for flowers?” dea counted on her fingers, her reasoning clear, “If left at ho, they have to be put in a vase to survive, or else they’ll wilt in a few days. Besides, looking at them too much becos tireso, and throwing them away would feel like a waste.”

“Then I’ll just discreetly get rid of them,” Aske turned his back, hiding the roses behind him.

“No, you bought them for , now they’re mine,” dea snatched the roses from his hand, gently sniffing them.

Being in a relationship is really troubleso… Aske couldn’t help but think.

“Love is like this,” dea spoke softly, “You say sothing, I say sothing, and in between, there are inevitable argunts and friction. But through such exchanges and interactions, our hearts gradually draw closer until they finally cling together.”

“Do you think love that has withstood the test of ti could be utterly shattered by soone’s sudden departure? You’re really underestimating it, Aske.”

“You’re so wise, Callia,” Aske remarked.

“I’ve told you, even though this is also my first love,” dea turned around, smiling, “I am confident I can follow this path to the end, as long as you are willing to walk the remaining journey with .”

“Even if you leave halfway, I am willing to stop and wait for you to co back one day.”

“…What if I can’t co back?” Aske, after a long silence, asked.

“Until the very last mont, who can be sure you can’t co back?” dea said with a smile, “Of course, if you still haven’t returned by the end of my life, you faithless man, it doesn’t matter. I’ve waited all these years anyway, so let it be.”

She suddenly wrapped her arms around Aske’s neck, startling him. Aske instinctively wanted to step back, but dea stared at him with her bright eyes misted with water, the intense emotion in them shocking him into a ntal blank.

“Why always consider a vague future when you can focus on the present?” Her forehead touched Aske’s, and she chuckled softly, “Enjoy the now, enjoy the ti we have together… and enjoy .”

Then dea kissed him.

This wasn’t Aske’s first kiss, but he had to admit, albeit unwillingly, that he had never had such a remarkable experience before:

Why are you so skilled at this! A silly thought suddenly popped into Aske’s mind.

“You call that skilled?” dea pulled away suddenly, her tone teasing, “You really underestimate us Enchanting Demons… little virgin.”

Aske:……

Before he could think of a proper retort, dea launched another assault—sealing his lips once more.
