Chapter 614: Chapter 124: Alliances and Manipulations (Added for Lord 天_仁义)

“Nora, have you noticed that dea seems to have beco quite close to Miel recently?”

In Fire Island, Thira suddenly asked Nora.

Following the operation led by Sigrdrifa to clear the Norman outposts, the campaign had gradually neared its conclusion. Nurous military strongholds were dismantled, and most of the Norman Transcendents from the Northern Horn had died in battle. Throughout the process, Sigrdrifa had not revealed her identity, and the Cunning Fox Demigod Robert had not returned. Everything had gone suspiciously smoothly.

It was as if everything were following a fixed script.

Upon carefully examining the details of the entire operation, Thira noticed many unexpected points of doubt, such as:

How did Sigrdrifa manage to infiltrate the Norman ranks? rely by virtue of her white hair and the identity of a Norman barbarian?

Why could dea, from such a distance, read so many people’s mind activities, mark the enemies, and even communicate with her teammates remotely, transmitting images and sharing markings… Even if it was a Law Skill, when had she mastered it? Why did nobody know?

Thira even felt that Miel was acting out of character. Though she couldn’t specifically pinpoint what was unusual, Miel seed to have undergone a complete change in personality.

Could it be that she had been possessed by the Banshee Queen Minerva? Every ti she thought of this, Thira was shocked and didn’t know what to do.

“I think you are being a bit paranoid,” Nora said while watering flowers in the garden, speaking softly, “We are all mbers of the sa team. Isn’t it normal for us to interact with each other?”

“Nora, you are just too kind,” Thira said, sowhat helplessly. Nora had a nature that inclined her to think the best of people, treating everyone with sincerity.

“It’s not about being kind,” Nora continued, smiling, “For instance, if dea saw you talking to right now, would she think ‘Nora and you have beco quite close’ and start having suspicions? Do you think that would be reasonable?”

Thira: ……

Can the two situations even be compared? Definitely not! The difference lies in… Huh?

Suddenly struck by a thought, the forr Empress exclaid:

“What if their closeness is aid at forming an alliance to take over Aske and to deliberately exclude you from the picture?”

Nora’s gentle smile instantly froze on her face, and after a long pause, she stamred hesitantly:

“No way, could they… Is that even sothing they could ally over?”

“What I an is.” After organizing her thoughts a bit, Nora spoke again seriously, furrowing her brows, “I know dea likes Aske, and I can vaguely tell that Miel has feelings for him too (Eleanor told ), but wouldn’t that make them romantic rivals? How could they possibly form an alliance?”

“Why couldn’t they?” Thira, having once been an Empress herself, was thoroughly familiar with the tactics of political intrigue, “You must understand that the enemy of my enemy is my ally. Considering lineage, wealth, and personality, who could compare to you in our team? It would be normal for them to form an alliance against you, the most threatening among us.”

“This…” With Nora’s innocent, almost naive nature, she had truly never considered that her companions might conspire against her, hesitantly she said, “This is just your assumption, right? Maybe they don’t have such intentions…”

“Oh, then wait until Aske is taken from you by their combined efforts, and then you can cry and regret not being cautious.” Seeing that Nora still refused to believe it, Thira beca visibly frustrated—do you not know how dark a human heart can be? This naïve girl was just like herself in the past, who thought that sisterly love required no guards, only to be tragically betrayed by her own sister.

Spurred by Thira’s provocation, a vivid scene imdiately ford in Nora’s mind:

Miel and dea clutched Aske’s arms, one on each side, walking forward sweetly and flirtatiously.

“Aske!” Nora called out helplessly from behind, stretching out her arms in a futile attempt to pull him back.

Aske turned his head, his expression sowhat reluctant, but dea soon whispered into his ear:

“Don’t bother with her, Aske. Isn’t my Enchanting Demon body fragrant?”

“Exactly, and there’s too.” The half-elf girl added fuel to the fire, “I’m much younger than that old woman.”

So, Aske was delighted and walked away, embracing the two beautiful girls. He left Nora alone on the ground, heartbroken, with tears almost pooling into a pond of sorrow beneath her.

Snapping back to reality, Nora shook violently. She was always timid and cautious, especially when it involved Aske. Fearing the worst, she said in a trembling voice,

“So, what should I do? I don’t think Aske is such a heartless person, but I think what you said, Thira, could have so possibility, so should I talk openly with dea…”

“What are you talking about?!” Thira was almost kneeling before Nora’s political naivety, “Love is selfish! If you can’t win sothing on the battlefield, do you expect to get it from a negotiation table?”

“Then…” Nora quickly grabbed Thira’s arm and pulled her to the flower beds, whispering, “Thira, you’ve always been the cleverest among us. Since you told about this, you must have thought of a way to handle it, haven’t you?”

“Of course.” Since she was sincerely asked, Thira responded seriously and firmly, “Nora, we need to form an alliance too!”

“The current situation is actually pretty simple: dea and Sigrdrifa have always been close, and Miel and Mia are best friends. Once dea and Miel form an alliance, their four-person group will act as a unified front. The core is undoubtedly dea and Miel, perhaps mainly dea or both making decisions together, but that doesn’t change the likelihood of them doing sothing detrintal to us.”

“Against collective strength, individual efforts aren’t enough. Nora, you’re close with Eleanor, and I’ll bring Peggy into the fold. Our four can form a smaller circle. If they don’t target us, fine, but the mont they try to take on any one of us, we must retaliate imdiately to prevent any harm!”

“You make so sense…” Nora hesitated again, “But if Aske finds out about this, won’t it be bad? We are part of the sa team after all…”

“What’s the problem? The East Solomon Empire is still a country, yet its elites openly compete and conspire,” Thira assud an experienced stance, advising Nora, “If they remain peaceful with us, we naturally won’t attack them, preventing any cracks in the team and not affecting Aske.”

“If they target us, designing conspiracies and traps, then they are the ones who violate our team’s regulations first. How can we not be allowed to fight back?” Thira confidently argued, “Even if Aske stood here and questioned , I could say they started it first. What can Aske do to us?”

“That’s true.” Nora thought, if, as Thira said, forming a reactionary alliance was acceptable since she didn’t want to hurt any teammate proactively.

“I’ll go talk to Eleanor about this.” Having made up her mind, Nora felt relieved and pumped her fists excitedly.

“Great, I’ll win over Peggy; she and I co from the sa place after all, so it should be easier to persuade her.” Thira nodded and turned to leave.

She hadn’t gone far when she suddenly heard Nora exclaim from behind,

“Hey, Thira! I just thought of sothing else…”

“dea and Miel… their love rival is . You don’t even like Aske, so why form an alliance with ?”

Thira imdiately stopped in her tracks, stunned as if struck by lightning, and cold sweat broke out on her back.

Right, I’m not competing with them for Aske, so why am I rushing to form an alliance with Nora?
