294: Chapter 92 Vacation 294: Chapter 92 Vacation “Tomorrow our rcenary Group is setting out,” soone said.

“Where to?”

“To the other side of the Alps, Innsbruck City.

It’s said to have been invaded by the Wolf Family’s vanguard.”

“Just The Azure Longsword going?”

“Of course not.

Part of the force is coming from the Earl of Innsbruck, and the Weisbach family is providing another part.”

“So, we’re just assisting?”

Sitting on small stools inside Fire Island, dea and Thira were nibbling on sunflower seeds from a plate on their table, chattering away.

When Aske teleported to Fire Island, he asked in confusion, “Where is everyone?”

“They’re all on holiday,” dea said.

“Holiday?” Aske was even more puzzled.

“Didn’t you say yesterday, after training ended, to let everyone relax for a day?” Thira asked.

“Did I say that?” Aske frowned.

The two girls looked horrified.

No way!

Was he really going to deny it?

That’s a bit too much, Squad Leader!

“How about we go find them?” dea’s eyes twinkled mischievously as she clung to his arm, beaming.

“I’ll take you.”

Thira nodded in agreent, clearly seeing through dea’s strategy of retreat to advance, pretended to “lead the way” when it was really a date.

Seeing Aske still hesitating, she naturally took his other hand, calmly saying:

“Let’s go, Squad Leader.”

dea raised an eyebrow, thinking Thira you little vixen, you’ve got your sights on the Squad Leader too, I forgot to read your mind before…

Feeling a bit involuntarily jealous.

Despite her jealousy, the main conflict still needed to be clear; it was important to take advantage of such tis to get closer to the Squad Leader, otherwise, chances might be slim later.

So she pressed her body even closer and whispered into Aske’s ear:

“Let’s go~”

The three teleported out of Fire Island and appeared at the training ground of Weisbach Palace.

Eleanor was still practicing with the Holy Sword, the white light dissipating from her armor and Longsword.

Another failure…

She shook her head, wondering how many tis she’d failed now.

The Unyielding Holy Sword, as a form of Extraordinary Swordsmanship, required the user’s will to be as strong as steel.

The more Eleanor practiced, the more she realized how fragile her will to fight actually was.

Why did she want to be stronger?

On reflection, seeking her father’s approval seed a fundantally flawed motivation.

Initially, she took up arms because it was fun, playing with her second brother Henry as a child, and then her father joked, “What’s a girl doing playing with swords and guns?” This sparked her competitive spirit; she wanted to prove she was stronger than her brothers.

And so, she continued practicing into adulthood.

Now, having beco a Transcendent, her sheer strength had surpassed both of her brothers, and her journey of getting stronger had lost its comparative targets.

Even though she still hadn’t managed to impress her father, her future path had beco uncertain.

Could she really change her father’s perception by continuing to practice?

Plus, the incident with Hood’s death had made Eleanor subconsciously start to reject Extraordinary Power.

For the sake of getting stronger, for the sake of future promotion, could a Transcendent really extinguish the most basic of human natures?

Massacres and corpses littered the fields and cities, and the perpetrator, in front of a Demigod ancestor, could still speak rationally as if those innocent lives lost were rely chips to be asured on his scale of interests.

She didn’t want to beco that kind of person.

Thinking this way, she had begun to have unwarranted nightmares recently.

Like becoming a ruthless person for the sake of power, seducing the Squad Leader to gain strength, eventually becoming a Demigod and returning to her family to coerce her father into giving up the position of Duke of Bavaria.

Sitting proudly on the duke’s throne, she watched her father and brothers obediently looks of approval, feeling quite content and arrogant, until Nora appeared before her, questioning her.

That’s when she woke up in a cold sweat: when had she beco the very person she most despised…

Thinking about the nightmare she had the night before, the white light on Ellie’s longsword wavered, a symbol of her heart beginning to waver once more.

Eleanor sheathed her sword in disappointnt, and then noticed Aske, dea, and Thira appearing beside her.

“Have you seen anyone else?” Aske asked.

“They went out early in the morning,” Eleanor said, “Didn’t we say we were taking a day off today?”

Aske silently touched his forehead in disbelief, realizing he must have indeed declared a day off.

How could he have forgotten?

“So, should we go looking for them?” Thira asked.

“Forget it,” Aske sighed, “calling everyone back to training now would only breed resentnt.”

“Great, let’s go out and explore,” dea interjected with a seductive smile, grabbing his hand to head outside.

As Aske tried to speak, dea had already let go of his hand and casually led the way, leaving him speechless.

This gal…

Aske sighed inwardly.

Honestly, it’s not true to say you wouldn’t be moved if a beautiful girl liked you and pursued you with such boldness.

But what distinguishes humans from animals is their will, not succumbing purely to instinct, much like how many high school couples break up at graduation, because they feel that if they go to very different universities, their life paths are unlikely to cross again, so it might be better to split up sooner rather than later.

So people don’t even date in high school, thinking that they’ll have to part ways after graduation anyway…

Aske was one of those people, though it was also because no girls chased after him in high school.

On the streets of Mingxing City, with the intervention of the official dical team, the number of refugees wandering the streets had decreased significantly.

dea paused at a stall in the marketplace, holding a teardrop-shaped earring, and asked Aske with a smiling face:

“Does this look good on ?”

“It looks nice,” Aske honestly replied.

“Oh.” dea put down the earring, only to hear Thira comnt out of the blue, “I think the star-shaped one would suit you better.”

“I didn’t ask you,” dea retorted, irritated.

Thira, of course, knew dea was annoyed at having a third wheel and couldn’t help but silently chuckle, stepping forward to pick up a stud earring and saying:

“This one would look good on Aske.”

“Wouldn’t that be a bit effeminate?” dea examined his face, sowhat tempted, “Why not give it a try?”

“I don’t pierce my ears,” Aske declined.

“Afraid it might hurt?” dea prodded with ill intentions.

“It’s not suitable,” Aske maintained.

“Steel straight man,” Thira remarked.

“Can’t get straighter than that!” dea put down the stud, then quickly dashed to another stall.

“Aren’t you buying it?” Aske was surprised, “I thought you really liked that earring.”

Before dea could respond, Thira spoke up:

“She was hoping you would secretly buy it and then gift it to her.”

“Look at you, big mouth,” dea feigned anger, then waved dismissively at Aske, “Forget it, I don’t want it.

That earring just looks nice; the craftsmanship is pretty rough anyway.”

I actually wasn’t planning on buying it for you, would it be asking for a punch if I said that…

Aske pondered.

“Yes, asking for a punch,” dea glanced at him with a hint of disdain.
