Chapter 141 : Blood Connection

Chen Xianyun looked at the old man and felt a chill run through her heart.

During the Chinese New Year, he had e to her house to pay New Year’s greetings and said some inappropriate things. After being thrown out by Shaoqiang, he probably held a grudge against her, which is why he came to cause trouble right after the business opened and tried to take back the property.

She looked at Jiang Li’s big belly and saw several employees being beaten, shaking with anger.

She rushed to the backyard and untied the collar of the wolfhound in the kennel. The dog, which had been fed raw meat and bones for several months, had grown bigger and looked very imposing.

“Zhuifeng, bite them to death!” she manded.

Following his master’s orders, Zhuifeng opened his mouth wide, revealing sharp teeth with bone fragments hanging from them, his blood-red tongue sticking out as he panted heavily. In the next moment, he lunged at the enemy and sank his teeth into one of their arms.

The old man’s youngest son screamed and tried to shake off the dog by hitting its head, but instead, a large chunk of his flesh was torn away.

“Dad, save me, beat this beast to death!”

One of the two sons had both arms broken, and the other had a piece of flesh ripped off by the dog.

The old man swallowed nervously, afraid. Ding Meifang, with red eyes, picked up a bolt that had been holding the door and struck the old man with it.

Unexpectedly, the old man wasn’t knocked out but instead became enraged. He glared at Jiang Li, who was behind Ding Meifang, and realized that these two shops were run by this girl. Since these women had harmed his sons today, he was determined to make them pay.

The old man grabbed Ding Meifang’s hair and threw her aside, then charged toward Jiang Li’s stomach.

“If you harm my son, your son will pay with his life!” he shouted.

He lowered his head and rushed at Jiang Li, but before he could reach her, he was kicked away and slammed into the glass counter.

A pair of strong hands supported Jiang Li. Qi Shaoqiang’s face was filled with anxiety and regret. “Lizi, are you okay? Where are you hurt?”

He quickly checked her from head to toe, only stopping when Jiang Li repeatedly assured him she was fine.

After ensuring everything was okay, Qi Shaoqiang took off his coat, rolled up his sleeves, and walked toward the men who had fallen in the shop. The first one he grabbed was the old man, who was attempting to escape.

The old man, realizing something was wrong when he saw Qi Shaoqiang’s muscular arms, panicked and tried to run away.

But Qi Shaoqiang dragged him back, punching him left and right, giving him symmetrical black eyes.

“Good man, spare my life, I know I was wrong…” the old man pleaded.

Before he could finish, Qi Shaoqiang landed another punch, knocking out the old man’s front teeth, which had survived for sixty years. Two loud slaps followed, destroying his back teeth.

Then came the arms, chest, and thighs, especially the joints. Qi Shaoqiang took great care with these, using the same ruthless methods he had used against his enemies.

The same treatment was applied to the old man’s two sons.

God only knew what went through Qi Shaoqiang’s mind when he received Wang Juan’s call, his brain had been filled with blood, and he couldn’t imagine what could happen to Lizi, the child, or his mother…

He had stolen the section chief’s motorcycle and driven like a maniac, falling three times on the way.

His worry and remaining anger were vented out violently, and finally, everything calmed down.

The customers in the store had called the police, and Fang Peilan happened to arrive, followed by a group of bodyguards.

She was trotting in her eight-inch heels, her normally neat hair disheveled, and as soon as she entered the door, she rushed to hug Jiang Li. “My dear, why are you like this? You’re going to scare grandma to death!”

“rade Public Security, these men came to our house to cause trouble and smashed our good girl’s shop. Arrest them all!” she demanded.

“Grandma, I’m fine!” Jiang Li reassured her.

Seeing Fang Peilan’s distressed expression, Jiang Li gently hugged her, feeling an inexplicable bond, a sense of familiarity and security.

Fang Peilan was stunned. “My dear, what did you call me just now?”

“Grandmother,” Jiang Li answered.

Fang Peilan burst into tears instantly, “Hey, hey.”

The warmth between the two was interrupted by the police. “We need your cooperation to take a statement.”

“rade Public Security, I can go alone. My wife is frightened and two employees are injured. We need to go to the hospital,” Chen Xianyun volunteered.

The police took one look at Jiang Li’s big belly and saw that Wang Juan and Ding Meifang were both injured, so they relented.

“Mom, are you okay?”

“Mom is fine, you go to the hospital with Lizi.”

“I’m afraid that’s not possible. You must have beaten these men. e back to the station with us.”

Fang Peilan hugged Jiang Li and said, “I’ll take my granddaughter to the hospital.” Then she gave Jiang Li a reassuring look and said, “Old Yan, go with son-in-law to the station and talk to Director Chen.”

“Don’t worry, Director Chen and our family are old friends,” Fang Peilan reassured Jiang Li.

The several men who had been beaten so badly that their faces were unrecognizable were dragged back to the police station. “Public security rades, we are innocent. Look at what we’ve been beaten into. That man looks like he wants to eat us alive. Why shouldn’t he be locked up?”

The old man pointed at Qi Shaoqiang, who was sitting off to the side taking a statement, feeling full of grievance. He was so old, yet this man could be so cruel?

“Shut up. You were the ones who came here to cause trouble, beat up the store employees, and smashed things. You scared the pregnant woman so much that she almost had a miscarriage. It would be strange if the man didn’t beat you!”

The police officer who was interrogating the case read through the transcript and understood the whole story. His initial sympathy for the old man turned into contempt. He had tried to seduce the mother-in-law, failed to pursue her, and even went to her house to smash things. Wasn’t that asking for a beating?

“Director Chen!”

Several police officers on duty stood up, and Chen Weiming nodded and said, “Just handle the case normally, I’m just here to take a look.”

The police officer who had interrogated Qi Shaoqiang handed over the transcript. After reading it, Chen Weiming looked Qi Shaoqiang up and down, then pointed at the three Gu family members who were imprisoned in the corner and asked, “Did you inflict all the injuries on these three?”

“Yes.”

“He’s really good at fighting,” Chen Weiming patted him on the shoulder. “And he’s got a good physique too. Xiao Liu, do you think anyone in our institute can beat him?”

The young and energetic Xiao Liu, who was called over, was a little unconvinced. “Director, I can do it.”

“What great ambition. How about you practice with this rade next time?”

“I’ve finished taking the statement. Can I leave now?” Qi Shaoqiang’s mind was entirely focused on Jiang Li, and he had no intention of staying any longer.

“Don’t worry, the Xu family called me. Your wife checked, and everything is fine. Both adults and children are safe.”

Liu Chaoying was eager to try. “rade, would you like to practice?”

Qi Shaoqiang did not refuse and walked into the yard as he agreed. Xiao Liu got into a stance, shouted, and charged at him, but was knocked down in three seconds.

Covered in snow and water, Xiao Liu was unconvinced and charged again. This time, he was more alert but was knocked down by Qi Shaoqiang in just one minute.

“I give up!” Liu Chaoying finally admitted that he was not in the same league as the big guy in front of him.

“Thank you!”

“rade, I see your moves are very similar. Have you learned them before?”
