Chapter 7
Two hours were finally over, just like I’d been teleported inside so suddenly, I suddenly found myself at the sa position I was standing before Cole transported into the dinsion.
But this ti, his expression told all I needed to know. He was clearly dumbfounded. He must have seen everything.
"Are you really Lucian? I know Lucian, he never had such abilities." Cole said in a slightly trembling voice, looking up at wide eyed. I stared blankly at him for a mont, then walked closer to him before leaning down till my mouth was close to his ears.
"You’ll keep this secret between us, wouldn’t you?" I asked coldly, my hand tapping lightly on his shoulder, the pressure of my energy weighing down on him a bit. I could tell he felt tensed, maybe even afraid. After all, that was a special effect of my demonic powers. Cole swallowed nervously but didn’t say anything and just nodded.
With that, I withdrew, looking at him with a forced smile. "Thanks for going easy on , I’ll be sure not to repeat my mistakes sir." I said calmly and headed out.
As soon as I stepped into the hall way, I could feel all eyes on . So students even gasped in disbelief. I knew exactly why, no one had ever walked into Cole’s office and ca out of it looking unhard. No matter how strong, they’d have at least one or two obvious wounds and blood stains.
But all I head was a sweaty shirt stained with sand. Even if I’d gotten injuries back there, my demonic powers would have healed them in a blink.
"Wait, wasn’t he the one who fought with Dante back in the training hall?"
"How is he unhard? Wasn’t he punished?"
"I’m sure he wasn’t, you all know what happens to anyone who gets trapped in Cole’s dinsions."
"How did he escape punishnt after what he did?"
The whispers were never ending, and I could hear every damn one of them. I didn’t pay heed to any of them and just kept walking forward with my hands in my pocket. But then, sothing caught my hearing that made stop in my tracks.
"Yeah he ruined her so badly, she’d learn to keep her mouth shut next ti. Damn I’m gald i was there to watch how he dealt with her."
Slowly, I turned around to the student who’d just spoken. My cold eyes t with his, and I walked towards him quietly. "What did you just say?" I asked, my expression unwelcoming, almost like I’d co to pick a fight.
"I wasn’t talking to you? What do you want?" The student shot back, clearly surprised by my sudden question and approach.
I exhaled, forcing myself to calm down. "Who were you talking about just now?"
"Oh, that? The girl who thought she could rat Dante out with so pathetic evidence. Honestly, she had it coming. People need to learn to mind their damn business."
Sothing in snapped. Rage clawed its way up my chest, not because I cared about her, but because I couldn’t stand clowns who turned soone else’s pain into a joke. If you can’t feel sympathy, fine just shut up.
"You’re one to talk," I said flatly, my voice cold. "If minding your business is the lesson here, maybe keep your rotten mouth shut instead of drooling over soone else’s misery."
The boys smirk faltered as he stared at , shocked by my sudden outburst. I wanted to punch his pathetic face so badly, but that would only draw attention.
"What I said got nothing to do with you." The boy snapped, "So? Are you here to defend your little girlfriend? Too bad she got fucked up so bad she probably can’t stand straight for days." The boy added, his tone mocking.
Almost instinctively, I let so of my demonic energy spill. The air around us grew heavy, and I saw the confidence drain right off his face. His body tensed, like he suddenly realized what he was up against. If it weren’t for the consequences I’d face after, his face would have been smashed to the floor by now, and that loud mouth of his would be the first thing I’d slice to bits.
I leaned in close, my tone low so only he could hear, making sure I released as much energy to make him feel intimidated. I had six percent of my powers with back now. "You like watching others get ruined, huh? Maybe I should let you taste it too. See if you’re still grinning after."
He froze. His lips moved but nothing ca out. A drop of sweat slid down his face. I pulled back, shoving my hands into my pockets like nothing happened.
"Yeah," I said coldly, already turning away. "Thought so."
Without another word, I walked away.
This ti, the whispers seed to have stopped, but I could feel all their cold gaze fixed on .
I barely made it a few steps before sothing slamd down on . A whole damn bucket of ice water. It ca crashing over my head and shoulders, soaking through in an instant. It stung, sharp enough to make my skin prickle.
Laughter erupted across the hallway, echoing off the walls. So students even clapped like it was a fucking performance.
I didn’t move. Water slid down my face, dripping from my chin, my shirt clinging to . My hands stayed in my pockets as I just stood still, acting like none of it affected . Well yeah it did, I could feel the freezing chill straight to my bones, but I wasn’t about to look pathetic and give them the joy of seeing suffer.
A slow clap followed from above, and I tilted my head up. There he was, Dante. I knew it was him.
He leaned lazily on the rail at the top of the stairs, watching like he’d been waiting for this mont all along. His little minion stood beside him, holding the empty bucket with that dumb grin plastered across his face.
"Warm welco," Dante said finally, his voice carrying over the noise. "You like it? Took so ti to prepare."
The crowd chuckled again. I kept my eyes on him, saying nothing.
Dante tilted his head slightly, pretending to study , the grin still tugging at the corner of his mouth. "So... tell , Lucian. How was it? You’re in a pretty good shape, nothing like I expected you’d look after the punishnt."
